Water Street Big Daddy Dunkel
On tap at the source on my way out of town. Such good fish & chips here. Food is better than the beer. Anyway... Full pour. Hazy light brown, lacy. Super banana-y, bittersweet toffee, persistent but softer clove than expected. Yeasty, abv feels a bit hotter. Okay.

Water Street Key Lime Pie
On tap at their brewpub on my way out of town in April '22. Ever slightly hazed, weak/quick hitting head. Smells of vanilla, maybe just cotton candy. Key lime bitter-tartness, pith, white sugar, a rounded vanilla creamsicle finish. Prickly carbonation, slight slurry feel. Okay except for the slightly fake smell.

Water Street (NY) Thousand Year Porter
Solid porter. I think they went with roasted malt instead of black malt, but it turns out okay. Smells like a porter. You can smell the roastiness. Tastes of coffee, a little chocolate, but not ash tray. Too bad, but then, that’s what stouts are for. Recommended.

Weird looking in the flight glass. Light brown with blonde hints. Taste is sort of confusing, but the chocolate malt is there. Not too happening.

Water Street (NY) Hefeweizen
On tap at Water Street.
Appearance: Milky hazy pale straw body with burnished edges. Dense white head.
Aroma: Hints of bubblegum, banana and clove. Rather earthy with hints of lemon.
Taste: Lemon is prominent with hints of underripe banana. Mildly spicy, too citrusy. Wouldn’t drink a pint of this.
Palate: Creamy bodied, moderately carbonated.
Overall: Decent, but I feel the brewery doesn’t have clear vision on what they want out of this flavorwise.

Water Street (NY) V1 Lager
On tap at Water Street Brewing.
Appearance: Mildly hazy amber-straw colored body with a creamy white head.
Aroma: Lemony with light floral notes and some orange peel.
Taste: Mild orange and lemon peel aromas. They are way too prominent.
Palate: Medium bodied, moderately carbonated.
Overall: Did I get the wrong beer? Way too citrus heavy for the style. In-fact there shouldn’t be any citrus at all.

Light colored ans nice lace but it seems like it might be under carbinated. Light citrus flavor and a bit of a bitter aftertaste but everything seems muted or watered down.

Water Street (NY) English Mild
A well crafted, true to style English mild with English hops. A session beer. On tap at the brewpub. Grassy nose with whispers of hop. Unpretentious and fully enjoyable. One could think that they are sipping this critter whilst straddling the international date line at its origin. Less is more.

As I entered the brewpub, BOC is playing, and the brewer is setting out his LEMMY figurine to protect the brewing process of the das at. I am at ease. Dark as night, glimmering, the dominance of the brew yields my submission. The r e will be time, thinks I. I Salivate in anticipation. Light oily lacing. A sessionable, toasty porter, solidly built. YUM!

Water Street (NY) Dark English Mild
Draft. Dark and clean pouring with nice tan head. Nice roasted aroma with floral hops coming through. Great low ABV session beer, probably my favorite by Water St. thus far. Fresh hops are well balanced with toasted malt flavors. Notes of cocoa and vanilla fade into crisp and refreshing clean finish.

Water Street (NY) IPA
In short: An hoppy English style IPA cranked up the American way. Very good.
How: Tap at brewpub.
The look: Cloudy amber-orange body topped by a medium off-white head leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: The hoppy nose is very leafy with what appeared to me as English-style leafy hops with some citrusy notes. Malt bill proposes a lot of toasted soft cookies, pleasant fresh honey and a tiny bit of caramel. Then a generous amount of English-style hops that add a juicy leafy bitterness that is never aggressive. Some oranges and sun dried yellow grass join the party at very end adding a sharpness to the finish. Very full body with a lively carbonation creating a pleasant expansive mouthfeel. Very flavourful and nourishing, if anything it loses a few points for being more nourishing than sessionnable. The last beer I had at this new brewpub, it was really quiet there, we were pretty much the only customers, it was so quiet in the pub that I could hear myself think, nothing good ever comes out of me hearing myself think, I’ve got some very weird thoughts and ideas, but the pub accepted not to press charges if I promised never to go back there.
