Brimmer Session IPA
Brimmer Session IPA on tap at Bungalow. A crystal clear brassy orange juice itís a creamy off-white head of foam. An aroma of white pepper and fruity hops with a decent side of malts. Lovely round carbonation and generally smooth mouthfeel on a medium body. The taste is crisp biscuit, light lemony citrus and mild pine. Quite a nice session IPA that veers towards balance rather than ramming hops down your throat.

Brimmer Altbier
Pours nice brown with some foam. Taste is amazingly soft, malty, fruity and has this soft malty Brimmer character. Really liking it actually, very nice alt, probably one of the best ones from this style I have had.

dark amber color. Big fruity nose with apricot and cherries and baked cake. Solid malt backbone, cherries and apricots, great hoppiness and solid bitterness. Very well balanced. Excellent example of an alt and second best in japan

Brimmer / Charcoal Grill Green Hunky Punk IPA
On tap at Charcoal Grill Green Bashamichi, Yokohama. Almost clear amber with a lasting, off-white head. Fruity aroma, citrus, tropical fruits and notes of caramel. Medium sweet with flavour dominated by ripe fruits and citrus. Finishes fairly bitter and has a nice bitter aftertaste with citrusy notes. A bit too much on the sweet side for my taste, but tasty stuff.

Brimmer Session Black IPA
On tap at WIZ for a Brimmer Tap Takeover. 4.7% IBU 56. Deep brown with a foamy beige head. Itís got a big citrus hop bouquet with a malt (coffee) edge to it. Medium bodied & dry. It is ascerbic with citrusy hops, roast coffee and oat notes predominating. Nicely done but a touch too roasty for me.

Brimmer Northern California Common
I had this beer in Kyoto, Japan, and I am rating it from memory, so it might not be spot on. I remember really liking this one. It had a lot of diacetyl, but I found it to be nicely intergrated in the taste, and made it a charming experience. I really enjoy these lager/ale hybrids at the moment, and I think this one had a nice craftbeer touch and taste to it, which made it charming.

Brimmer Jarrylo Pale Wheat
Tap at CBM Jinbocho Terrace. Classic brimmer. Light, uncontroversial. Was hoping to taste the new hop, but thereís not much there. A hint of peach for a second, but then just wheaty. Quite good for a summers day, but hardly troubling the scorers.

Bottle at Cactus Burrito. Interesting. Aroma is very fruity, peach, but with a British real ale bitter style maltiness. Too. Taste is more of the latter. Malt at the front, but a bit of fruitiness at the end. Bit confused by it.

Tap at 1020. Deep orange-brown, cloudy, with a low, fine head. Estery fruity nose, stone fruits, grapefruit, and lots of piny resins. Sweet stewed fruit flavor, cinnamon, very bitter and resinous, light chocolate and caramel. The hops are very bitter, resinous, and dirty. Solid without taking me anywhere exciting.

Brimmer Golden Ale
Half in the Brimmer Beer Box with Tim Malony. Clear, pale amber, medium white foam head, nice fresh lacing on the glass as with all their beers tried. The nose has a little bit of something chemically or rubbery but thereís also some nice fruit flavours of orange and lemon citrous, caramel malt, pine. Itís got a foot in the IPA camp. What would be known in the new world as a session IPA, but a golden ale to anyone else who knows about beer. Nice hoppy, citrous forward golden ale.

Brimmer Northern California Common
On keg in the Brimmer Beer Box, Tokyo. Clear toasty looking Vienna lager coloured amber beer, with a white foam head, and some nice fresh looking lacing. Nose is dusty, cereal grain malt, very slight yeast eatery, or at least some trace of fruit either from yeast or hop. Taste is a crisp lager, with a tangy dry hop, slight fruitiness and tanginess, dry lager yeast. Tom summarise, itís like a crisp dry lager, with clean lines, but a slight bit of fruit from the hop. Iíd expect it to be a bit malted for a Cali Common?
