Nice vanilla, some hazelnut, and peanut butter. Slight sweetness on the palate of vanilla, caramel, and toasted bread. Nice coffee and chocolate. A bit of hazelnut and peanut butter. brokensail	3.6 Haven Right Said Red On tap @ Haven Gastropub. Clear amber colored pour with a sticky white head. Aroma is big on the pine, grapefruit, and floral hops. Sweet caramel and brown sugar are prominent. A touch of booze. Maybe some tangerine. Sweet taste for the most part, but a fair amount of bitterness on the back end to counter that. Lots of pine and grapefruit. Slight herbal note, lots of floral hops, some orange, and tangerine. Fairly heavy on the aromatics. Not bad. Monday, April 28, 2014

Some burnt toast, herbal hops, grass, and toasted malt. A touch of sweet brown sugar and toasted malt on the palate. Lots of roast, coffee, and bitter dark chocolate. brokensail	2.9 Haven Dream Of Wheat On tap @ Haven Gastropub. Amber pour with a white head. Nose is fairly fruity and hoppy, which is nice. Lots of orange peel, cantaloupe, and some baked apple. Very sugar, caramel, and alcohol driven, however. Moderate pine notes. There is some decent bitterness to the flavor, but it is intensely sweet. Tons of sugar, caramel, and sweet fruits. Dates, cantaloupe, and oranges. Fairly boozy on the finish. Not my thing. Sunday, March 2, 2014

Nice orange zest, some tangerine, and a hint of kumquat. Really nice fruity sweetness. Plenty of peach, pineapple, and mango. Big citrus zest component, particularly orange and grapefruit. Some orange peel, cocoa, toast, and maybe coconut milk? Sweet malty flavor. Lots of coconut milk, vanilla, and caramel. Toast, some light citrus peel, and a hint of chocolate. Really no bitterness. That goes for the flavor too, where there’s some citrus peel bitterness as well. Full-bodied and with some warming qualities. Lots of apricot in the finish too, as well as bitterness.
