Haven 100 Rubles On Oak
"A decent stout for sure, but for a 12% oak aged IRS, it didnít really leave a lasting impression. At best, average for what is still my favorite style. Cocoa, slight dark fruits and molasses. Slight wood presence. Iíd like to revisit..."

"This one was a little rough around the edges, but still had a lot going for it. so the score is still good. Coffee, chocolate, and a nice wee bit of smoke. I wasn;t crazy about the hops, but it still ended up quite nice."

"A little too light on the hops to really balance the dark malts and hints of smoke. A pleasant enough ale, just not aggressive enough to be a decent ipa, black or otherwise. I dug the smoke, though. Not bad..."

"An ok attempt. Sufficiently banana-y. Light on the clove and spices, and body. Everything I like in a good hefe, just a bit on the light side. Good in summer heat."

"Coffee is the main player in this light bodied but flavorful brown, and itís done well. Big nose and flavor. Light roast and carmel under there as well, but really- - itís about the coffee, and the coffee is good."

"An average interpretation of a style that usually doesnít excite me much (with a few exceptions). Adequately toasty and crisp, but just not enough going on to get my attention."

"Adequately hoppy to make this apa pleasantly fruity and aromatic. A little too thin and malty, but otherwise an enjoyable pale that I wouldnít mind getting again."

Haven Right Said Red
On tap @ Haven Gastropub. Clear amber colored pour with a sticky white head. Aroma is big on the pine, grapefruit, and floral hops. Sweet caramel and brown sugar are prominent. A touch of booze. Maybe some tangerine. Sweet taste for the most part, but a fair amount of bitterness on the back end to counter that. Lots of pine and grapefruit. Slight herbal note, lots of floral hops, some orange, and tangerine. Fairly heavy on the aromatics. Not bad.

Pours an amber / dark brown color. Aroma has a little bit of toast notes to it and that is followed in the taste. Baking bread flavors. Tiny amount of bitterness. This beer would go well with a bold spicy meal.

This is a serious blast of coffee. Even with the smoothing effects of nitro dispense this comes through as espresso. But it is super enjoyable, sip after sip. Now I just have to find this coffee to do a comparison

Itís an unclear, golden-orange beer with a small, dense, off-white head. The aroma has lots of apricot, hiding most of the other scents. Still itís quite nice. That goes for the flavor too, where thereís some citrus peel bitterness as well. Full-bodied and with some warming qualities. Lots of apricot in the finish too, as well as bitterness. A pretty strange one, but itís pleasant and tasteful anyway. 131122
