Rock Bridge Option #2
The beer pours dark brown with an off white head. The aroma had cream, milk, smooth roast, dark caramel coffee and heavy sweetness. It has a medium body with is kinda light for an imperial stout with mild carbonation. The taste has earthy hops, spice and light char. The finish is richer like the aroma. Pretty good. Easily best Iíve had from rock bridge.

Smells strongly of raisin, plum and other dark fruit. More like a Belgian than a stout, but there is some light roast coffee in the background. Dull black color with no head. Tastes like milk chocolate with a tinge of coffee bitterness and booze. Very good, albeit a little sweet. I would classify this as a sweet stout, not an imperial, maybe the ABV qualifies it as such. Smooth palate with low carbonation. Well done by Rock Bridge, I would like to try more of their beers soon.

Fairly dark, half finger dark khaki head. Smells of chocolate brownie, peanut butter, dark chocolate bar, chocolate grain or cereal, small bit of grape, stale coffee beans. Taste is sweet chocolate with some roasted hop bitter, vanilla, roasted coffee, a plastic like bitter in the finish. The off tastes in the finish aren't great but there's plenty of different chocolate tones, but coffee is subdued. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour from a 16 or so oz can while waiting for ODB at perennial last Saturday. Black pour. Aroma and taste of roast, fudge, slight vanilla. Creamy body. This was fantastic, probably my favorite of the day at a very good bottle share.

Dark black with a tan head. The first smell was chocolate cake with a little peanut butter. The chocolate cake follows in the taste breaking down into bakers chocolate, vanilla and confectioners sugar. A hint of cherry cordial. Ends with a slightly metallic and bakelite bitterness. A soft, medium-full mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled at the SCCCT event at Friendship Brewery. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of malts, some coffee, spices, chocolate and a hint of vanilla. The taste was similar to the aroma with more roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, coffee and cinnamon. Tasty.

Tap, nice black brown ish brew lightly reddish in light, with khaki suds. The aroma is huge coffee with a sweet hazelnut toffee sweet thing. The flavor is also big tho the body isnít too heavy. Lots of roasty coffee flavors as the base with sweet vanilla hazelnut toffee caramel swirled throughout the beer. At times itís too much flavoring sometimes itís alright. Overall enjoyable but I couldnít drink a lot of it. Would be interesting to try a barrel aged version tho, it could easily hold itís own.

16 oz can. Murky and coppery-orange with a smallish head. Aroma is kind of earthy, and of rye. Rye is obvious from the get-go, but itís not overwhelming, providing taste, but almost no rye spiciness. Orange, citrus hops with a decent sweetness to balance. Palate is a little bit watery. One of the more unique rye beers Iíve tried in that the rye taste is there with almost none of the spice. Itís good.

Rock Bridge Tailgate Smoked Brown
Tasted on draft at 2015 St. Louis Microfest in a willi becher glass. It poured an opaque dark brown colour, no head. Strong dark malt flavours, much too burnt and smoky for me, with diacetyl and an odd tartness underneath. Medium body and carbonation. Not terrible but not good. Itís rare that I meet a brown ale I donít like.

Thanks to Doran the was sent to me in trade. This poured from the 16 oz can a hazy golden orange color with a beige head and excellent lacing. Attractive. Nose is rye, tropical fruit and citrus and floral hops. Medium in body with a resinous mouth feel. Flavor is rich with the rye and tropical fruit in good balance and the finish is big on the tropical fruit and nicely bitter. Really nice.

Rock Bridge Saison
This was disappointing. I was excited to have a regional brewery with a Saison. This just wasnít impressive at all. The pour is okay, very little head. The taste is flat with hints of citrus, but not palate popping citrus from other Saisons I have had. The finish us sour and lingers.

Tasted on 12/12/14 from a 16oz can, thanks to Shea. Pours hazy burnt auburn with an average beige head that slowly recedes to fairly thick, sticky lace. The nose is a cool blend of spicy, cereal rye with a lightly fruity, earthy green hops aroma. The flavor is nicely balanced with even more fruity hops, nice spice and earthiness balancing. The body is medium with average, smooth carbonation, and a long fruity, bitter, and spicy finish.

Rock Bridge Tailgate Smoked Brown
The beer pours a clear reddish brown color with a large off-white head, and the aroma blends smoked, roasted, and caramel malts. The taste, though, is not great due to mild sourness and touch of umami, and the aftertaste is reminiscent of smouldering ashes and campfires. After youíve swallowed, it feels as if you want to move out of the wind of a wood fire. The palate fueses a slick texture, medium-light body, and a soft carbonation.

This beer pours a very clear yellow with a small white ring. The aroma blends wheat and strong yeast, and the dominating yeast continues through in the flavor, which is mildly sour and only slightly acidic. The aftertaste is also very yeasty and tastes more like an American wheat than a Berliner Weiss. The palate fuses a medium body, average carbonation, and a slick texture. Iím not impressed whatsoever.

Pretty good ipa. Doesnít taste like a 7%. Hits clean, but after a few minutes you get a bit of malt. Not a problem. My slacking on drinking shouldnít matter in the review of a beer. This is a super solid and good ipa. Just not the best after you faded out and woke back up and started drinking again.

Sampled at Augusta Bottoms Beer Festival 2014 - Pours pale light yellow and is very clear with a small white head. The aroma has passion fruit, mild tartness and crisp wheat. Rock Bridge Margarita Spree Berliner Weisse
Great Taste of the Midwest 2014 Offering (Madison, WI). Pours a gently hazed crisp pale champagne hue. A big bubbly creamy white head atop stays larger, decent stick around and lacing overall. Aromas are a bit lemony, some lime and gentle salt. Crisp bready and straw grains and a bit of yeastiness. Some sourness hits. Initial is clean, a bit flabby with gentle tartness. Dry, a bit lactic with some mellow yeast. Earthy elements, bread. Gentle lime, faint salt element. Some touches of crisp bread, straw. Backend is dry, decent sourness and a bit mellow and underdone. Ok. Better than the base. The Margarita element gives it some life.

Taster on tap at GTMW. Cask pour. Mildly hazy pale golden color. Thin white head, kind of bubbly. Leaves decent lace. Medium body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Light slick finish. Satisfying full feel to it. Great lemon citrus aroma to it, mild funk. Light to moderate sweet taste, lightly tangy. Lightly tart. Light saltiness to it. Solid, full-bodied drinkable yet refreshing berliner weisse. Kind of a lemonade type flavor. Very nice.

On draft at Midwest Beer Camp (Chicago, IL). Pours a watery champagne glowing hue, nice haziness. A bit dull with some decent hazy murk. Aromas are a bit subtle, some bready malts, gentle straw and a subtle lactic acidity. Faint citrus, green melon and white grape. Initial is a bit thin, watery with touches of tartness. Lots of green melon, subtle white grape. A bit bland and underdone. Some nice green melon, white grape flavors but a touch metallic, lacking the sour get up and development it should be at. Ok.

Cloudy light amber color with small compact head. Nice aroma, the malt has a straws accent, some cereals and toffee, and mild resiny/fruity hops. Lean mouthfeel; delicate malt flavor, with a touch of caramel and toffee, very good choice for an IPA; strong hopping; there are good hop qualities (some resins and some fruits), although it may have suffered a bit (unfortunately the can doesnít seem to be dated).
Very pleasant one.

16oz can, from Lukas Liquor in Missouri. Hazy orange amber color. Fizzy off-white head. Loose splotches of lace. Medium body. Soft, kind of effervescent carbonation. More dry finish. Big herbal character, kind of spicy. Bigger spicy, moderate bitter, light sweet. Eh.. Not crazy about this one. A bit too much of a bitter spicy bite for a 5.5% saison. Calms down a bit though after sitting and swishing.

Draft on tap at Bridge (St. Louis, MO). Pours a glowing gently hazed orange hue, nice frothy whitish head atop dies to a mellow film, subtle lacing and stick around. A bit of fiery copper and orange glow pervades the body. Aromas are fairly hoppy, given some fruit and citrus life. Grapefruit rind and touches of orange juice meet florals, gentle bready malt. Initial is lighter end of the fold, some nice potent hop zip up front shows florals, firm bitterness with pithy grapefruit and juice. Touches of bitter earth meet bready malts, faint biscuit and gentle rye malt. A gentle spiciness, earthy hops into the backend. Cleaner and approachable body, nice hop profile overall with a gentle kiss of fruitiness. Finish is bitter, a bit soapy and grapefruit driven. Some florals, gentle rye hang on. Nice. Pretty surprised this clocks in at 7%

Pour is a hazy copper with a small white head. Aroma is decently hopped with a spicy rye malt in the backround. Flavor is a decent helping of the rye with an equally nice hoppy backbone. Finish leaves a nice hop resin and rye on the tongue as this goes down.I donít think this would win any awards against some other rye IPAís but this one is right up there.
