Dirty Bucket Brewing Company Reviews

bhensonb
Dirty Bucket Sicyne IPA 3.7
Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours bright ruddy/orange copper with a beige head. Aroma is spicy, grassy, dankish. Med body at least, tho a bit questionable somehow. Flavor is rather amberish, malt wise, with spice, grass, and not really dankish. Some floral. Sort of ESB. Not bad, but not outstanding. Fairly drinkable.

Dirty Bucket Omnipotent Triple IPA 2.8
On tap at Brouwer’s Cafe, pours a cloudy dark orangey amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings wet wood, some cardboard, and resinous hops. Flavour is similar, with notes of wet wood upfront, followed by resinous hops. Not terribly complex nor elegant. Not disastrous but I’m not a big fan.

Dirty Bucket Blootered Scotch Ale 3.7
Draft 8 oz pour on my Woodinville brewery crawl. Dark reddish brown pour with a big bubble head. Oak and peat malt aroma from a distance. Flavor is a huge roasted nut flavor with a mild sweetness late. Subtle smokiness throughout that doesn’t reach the overpowering stage. Top of the line when it comes to a unique beer. Good beer to sip and enjoy the huge array of flavor. Lingering cool, peat finish. Very fun, tasty beer.

Dirty Bucket Filthy Hoppn’ IPA 3.2
Draft pour pint at the brewery, as part of my on foot Woodinville crawl. The rain is pouring, but so is the beer, so it’s cool. 3rd stop. Light golden copper pour with a rocky foam head. Big fresh piney hops aroma. Hop heavy flavor with a slight bitter finish. Has a cabbage hinted feature that I have noticed in their beer before, but it isn’t nearly as off putting here. Lingering bitter hop finish. Not bad.

Dirty Bucket Blootered Scotch Ale 3.3
Some peat and a little prune in this. A little oaky flavor. Pours brown with ok head. Light sweet, crisp finish. Shared by Rahul at Cask Days.

Dirty Bucket Filthy Hoppn’ IPA 3.6
Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours clear light copper with a slight off-white head. Lots of hop in the aroma - floral, spice, earth - maybe pine. Med + body. Flavor is rather earthy with touches of pine and citrus. It has a bitter bite. Leaves hop flavor in the mouth. It’s not super strong in any one thing - except all the hop taken together. Support is mildly roasty malt. Solid IPA.

Dirty Bucket Ruski Porridge 3
Draft pour at the 192 lake trail taproom. From yesterday’s notes. Pours a super muddy brown color with a coffee, roasted malt aroma. Flavor had a lot of coffee in there, as well as some vegetal flavors. Definitely oaty as well, with some more coffee grounds towards the finish. Wasn’t super impressed here, though it kinda grew on me. I’ll try this again.

Dirty Bucket Triple X (XXX) 2.5
On tap at Brouwer’s Cafe, pours a cloudy amber orange with a small white head. Aroma is quite acetic, with paint thinner and nail polish, along with fruity hops. Flavour is over-malted, with nail polish remover, and hops that are buried. Something quite wrong here, though there are some oranges and tropical fruit buried underneath. Not refined, but not a disaster.

Dirty Bucket Triple X (XXX) 2.8
Draft - Harsh acetone, bright orange and tropical fruit. Cloudy copper with a decent white head. Sweet tropical fruits and booze. The nose really brings this down.

ACHops
Dirty Bucket Sicyne IPA 3.4
On tap @ 192. Pours dark reddish copper with very thin white head. Aroma is light caramel malt and a hint of earthy hops on the back. Taste is clean, slightly sweet light caramel malt, just enough hops to balance. Earthy, grassy notes stand out on the hops, with a hint of pine. Not a bad IPA.

Dirty Bucket Full Nelson India Black Ale 2.9
Draft sample at the bothell brew festival. Pours a jet black with a thin tan head. Odd vegetable aroma. Cabbage like flavor with a roasted feel. Very bitter. I gave these beer a chance two separate times separated by a couple months. Giving the benefit of the doubt, this beer is not for me. UPDATE: one of my favorite things about being on Ratebeer, is my opportunity to give beer a deserved second, or in this case, third chance. Tried again on draft at the brewery. Near black pour with a thick foam head. Heavy hoped aroma and flavor. Subtle roastiness throughout, with a big hop bitter linger. This was undrinkable for me upon my first two tries, but they may have had a batch or two that was off. This one is still far from great, but it was much more enjoyable. Meeting in the middle on the rating, until I will try again. New take on the beer, it is quite interesting.

mcberko
Dirty Bucket Filthy Hoppn’ IPA 2
On tap at Dirty Bucket, pours a clear pale copper with a small white head. Aroma is astringent, with notes of piney hops and bitter biscuity malt. Flavour is exactly the same, with astringent hops and dry biscuity malt - no character here at all, just unpleasant astringency. Not good.

mcberko
Dirty Bucket Rusty Pail Pale Ale 1.1
On tap at Dirty Bucket, pours a hazy dull golden with a small white head. Aroma and flavour is messed up, with sawdust, some sort of infection here. No way this is what they were going for. Drain pour.

mcberko
Dirty Bucket Dirty Blonde Ale 2.4
On tap at Dirty Bucket, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma is light and crisp, with cereal malt and other dry grains. Flavour is fairly bland, with cereal malt and straw. Pretty boring and not really authentic. Meh.

mcberko
Dirty Bucket Dirty Amber Ale 2.6
On tap at Dirty Bucket, pours a clear amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out a light balance of bready malt and subtle hops. Flavour is balanced but feint, with bready dry malts and light English hops. Finally, a beer that isn’t off, but this is pretty weak. Drinkable.

Dirty Bucket Full Nelson India Black Ale 1
On tap at Dirty Bucket, pours a near-black with a small tan head. Aroma has some weird vegetal notes - smells skunked. Flavour is horrendous, with vegetal notes, bitter wood and skunk cabbage. This is absolutely atrocious. Another drain pour.

mcberko
Dirty Bucket Bedraggled Irish Red 2.2
On tap at Dirty Bucket, pours a dark amber with a small white head. Aroma is subtle, not much here. Flavour is bland as well, with dry grainy malts and a spritzer finish. Nothing off about this, but this isn’t good.

Dirty Bucket Bilge Rat 2.3
On tap at Dirty Bucket, pours black with a medium tan nitro head. Aroma is very oaky, with some herbal notes in there. Flavour is bizarre, with oak, woody off-notes, and dry powdered cocoa. Not very elegant at all. Pretty bad.

Dirty Bucket Bilge Rat 3
Draught at the brewery
Black color with the classic nitro creamy head. The aroma is a bit buttery. The mouthfeel is smooth, there is some roasted malt flavor, milk, oxidization, light chocolate, hint of oak.
Simplistic, but not bad.

Dirty Bucket Filthy Hoppn’ IPA 3.2
Draught at the brewery
Cloudy light amber color with small head. Fruity aroma. It has some fruity flavor, less resins, and less malt, with some yeast trace, evident.
Not bad, but it’s an homebrew IPA.

Dirty Bucket Rusty Pail Pale Ale 3.1
Draught and dry-hopped cask at the brewery
The tap glass is amber, with just some haziness, while the cask is cloudy; the aroma is sweetish and candyish; it has a strong character of cereals. The cask is weird, too much undercarbonated, although with some fruity hops, light yeast traces, and low bitterness.
Nothing special.

fiulijn
Dirty Bucket Dirty Blonde Ale 2.9
Draught at the brewery
Murky blond color, no head. The aroma is light and fruity. Nothing special in the flavor, although some nice fruity hops are detected; light cereals; it has a moderate residual sweetness too.
Not a bad beer, but misses some points because on the unpresentable look.

Wow! This IPA bursts with fresh delicious hoppiness! Aroma of fresh cut grass as you crack the can. Beautiful amber pour with a light airy tan head. Perfectly balanced fresh hops and malts with a slightly bitter finish. This is the freshest tasting IPA I've had in a long time!

Dirty Bucket Filthy Hoppn’ IPA 3.3
Tall Boy Can. Dark ruby colored in appearance with a layer of sudsy off-white head. Aroma is citrus rind, dank herbal hops and pine resin. The flavor is a blend of tropical fruit, pine and tangerine notes along with some caramel and vegetal hops bitterness toward the end. Mouthfeel is a bit thin with average carbonation and more bitterness and sweet citrus in the finish. Decent but a little raw and unfinished around the edges.

Dirty Bucket Filthy Hoppn’ IPA 3.3
Can:   Deep dirty amber, deep caramel hues, moderate foamy sandy head, nice lacing.   Pine, resin, and some candied citrus peel on the nose.   Very minor bitterness up front, and a little weak in terms of body and mouthfeel.   Seems a bit watery.   Soft bitterness, a touch earthy. Looks interesting, smells good, but is real weak on the tongue.   Its a touch on the thin side too.   Seems more of a Pale Ale than an IPA.   Flavors are all up front, somewhat falls off on the back.   Meh... pedestrian.

Pours a cloudy amber with a medium light-tan head. Piney, resinous aroma with some caramel sweetness. Flavor is pleasantly piney, with some hoppy bite and lingering bitterness...but overall comes across as thin and a bit watery.

Dirty Bucket First Anniversary Ale 3.9
Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours copper/amber with a foamy beige head. Aroma is citrus/pine over roast caramel. Med body or better. Flavor is fruity/citrus with some mild earthiness. Pine/resin? Maybe. This is odd ale. It seems hoppy, but there’s something suggesting treacle. It’s flavorful, but in an uncommon way. I can imagine garlic. If the brewery can reproduce this, I think they have a winner.
