Laugar Aupa Tovarisch
Bottle - 330ml. Pours a black, opaque body with a lasting, brown creamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with coffeeish, spicy, and woody hints. Alcohol is discreet. Its complex, rich malty/hoppy taste carries woody, coffeeish, cocoa, brandy, and liquorice notes. Ends with a long, warming bittersweet finish. Fantastic!

I had the beer at the Kaapse Brouwers 2nd anniversary festival. The looks of the beer are nice. The color is yellow, and the beer is very cloudy. The nice layer of rough white foam collapses quickly, to leave a thin drape. The smell is delicious. Itís the smell of an Irish IPA. It is filled with grapefruit, citrus zest, lemon and lime. The smell is bittersweet. The balance is great. There is a little touch of lemon grass. The beer is so fruity, i love it. The taste is nice, however the bitterness seems to bring the beer a little out of balance. It makes the beer a little dry. The smell was better. There is a nice touch of grapefruit in the taste. The beer is a good IPA, but there are better ones around.

I had the beer at the Kaapse Brouwers 2nd anniversary festival. The beer has a nice color. Its ruby red/brown. On top of the beer there is a nice layer of white foam. Its nice and soft, but collapses quickly, leaving almost nothing. There is a little cloudiness in the beer. The smell of the beer is lovely. Its nice and sweet. I smell aromas of pear, apple pie and cinnamon. The smell is quite fruity and rich. Itís a nice and sweet smell. It is in good balance, with some nice hops to. It is a familiar smell. I canít really put my finger on it. The taste is lovely to. Itís filled with lovely flavors of of cinnamon, bear, fruits, syrup and toffee. Its a lovely taste. Its in good balance. There are nice sweets, bitters and a little sour. The palate is nice and soft. The finish is nice, with a lovely alcohol to it. I like it.

I had the beer at the Kaapse Brouwers 2nd anniversary festival. The beer has a golden yellow color. It is a little cloudy. On top of the beer a nice layer of white foam is formed. It collapses quickly, leaving almost nothing. The looks are nice for an IPA, but its a bit to pilsener like. The smell is nice. It is really IPA like. There are aromas of citrus fruits, citrus zest and grape fruit. There is a nice bitter sweet aroma of hops, which also gives a nice sweetness. I love the fruitiness of the beer. The taste is also nice and really IPA like. There are again flavors of citrus fruits, citrus zests and grapefruit. Itís a good IPA, but not very special. There are better IPAís.

I had the beer at the Kaapse Brouwers 2nd anniversary festival. The beer has a typical stout look. The color of the beer is light black. There might be a brownish glow. The foam is brown and soft. It collapses to leave a nice drape of brown foam. The smell is nice. I smell some aromas of spearmint, cinnamon, pear and apple pie. There is also some chocolate in the smell. The taste is the same. It also has those lovely touches of chocolate, pear, cinnamon, able pie and spearmint. There arenít many beers like this. There is also a little flavor reminding me of cake. Its lovely. Iím not familiar with this kind of beers but I love it. Nice.

I had the beer at the Kaapse Brouwers 2nd anniversary festival. The color of the beer is a combination between ruby red and brown. The beer is quite clear. On top of the beer there is a little layer of almond colored soft foam. The foam collapses over time and leaves a thin drape. The smell is not bad, but itís a bit to mild. There is a nice little sweetness and aromas of red forrest fruits. There is also a nice little bitternes. Itís to mild to properly describe all aromas. The appearance of the beer made me expect a little bit more. There are some mild aromas of licorice and malts. The taste is quite nice. I taste some licorice and some barley. Again, its to mild. Its a little watery. It misses some kick. I did expect a lot more. Itís not very special, but it definitely isnít bad. Itís a good beer, not a world player though.
