Cask half-pint, hand-pulled at the 44th Telford Beer & Drinks Festival at The Crown Inn, Oakengates on 5th May 2018. Amber bodied, off-white affair on top. Malty front with a slight earthy aroma, fairly bitter and dry in the mouth. It was OK, but wanted a bit more 'oomph' really.

Cask. Pours dark with ruby lights and a tan foam top. Aroma dark malts with caramel and chocolate mildly. Taste is sweet with a slow souring. Palate is medium bodied, rich and smooth texture, average carbonation, and the finish is slow if not exactly languorous. And the licorice that has just emerged gets an extra point

From the barrel at Central Railway beer festival. Pours black with some ruby lights and a tan top. Aroma caramel and toffee malts well roasted with a whisper of vanilla. Taste is lightly sweet, slightly spicy, medium bitter and lightly sour finish. Palate is medium body, slick feel, flat carbonation, and no great languor. But an excellent mild, showing how much flavour can be achieved on a low abv.

Cask at The Leeky Tap, Leek. A deep brown colour with a medium off white head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, slight smoke and subtle tobacco. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, some dark fruits, a little tobacco and subtle smoke. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A roasted, fruity bitterness in the finish. Started like any other rich porter with roasted malts and chocolate dominating but developed into a more dried fruit kinda porter making it a lot more balanced. Decent.
