Brigadier	3.6 Iechyd Da Polar Dragon IPA 32 ounce crowler A cheap $7.00 crowler provided a nice baseline for the brewery but nothing overly exciting. As far as regional breweries go it aligns well like the likes of Evil Czech. Overall though it is a fairly average experience that encourages looking for a few others in the style. AROMA / APPEARANCE The cool transparent golden base gleams under a lean head. Pineapples, mango, and wheat soften the air with a gentle bright nose. Underlying it all is a floral aspect. FLAVOR / PALATE Dank grassy pineapple, citrus, and bitter florals work across the palate with a pleasing medium bodied mouthfeel. The supple finish ties together nicely all the aspects into a coherent profile. A low key cold IPA ultimately slides under the radar with little that sets it apart from other solid examples. If you could only choose a single draft this one might be ideal for getting a pulse on the brewery. Friday, October 6, 2023
Brigadier	3.1 Iechyd Da TaTa Rosa 32 ounce crowler "Iechyd da" means Good Health in Welsh. Unfortunately this crowler from draft was anything but a toast to the country of Wales. Its only redeeming feature was the cost of $7.00 a fill. After sampling it I understand now why they were supplementing it with sugary slush. Despite the brand I don't think I will stopping by here again in drives through Indiana. AROMA / APPEARANCE Raspberry slush, malt, and sweet sugary notes pepper the air with a tartness like liquid candy. The nose is basic, effective and ultimately uninspiring. Nothing about it suggests reflecting for long. FLAVOR / PALATE Raspberry puree, malt, and sugar sweeten the palate with a splash of flavor before it melts away in seconds. The tart candy finish adds a trace of depth. Overall though this feels basic, boring, and forgettable. If not for the cheap price point this would have been a bigger disappointment. alexsdad06	3.9 Iechyd Da Oddjob Series: Dragon's Lair Imperial Coffee Stout Draft to snifter at the source. Pours dark brown to black in color with a medium sized khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have dark roasted malts, black coffee, dark chocolate, molasses, a hint of ash, the coffee is roasty with good bitterness to the finish, medium full bodied, good mouthfeel, very good overall. alexsdad06	3.8 Iechyd Da It Takes Two To Mango DIPA Draft at the source. Pours a slightly hazy dark golden color with a small off white head. The aroma has a big dose of mango. The flavor has a good amount of mango as well but combines that with citrus, tropical fruit and resiny hops, toasted pale malts, caramel, some earthy notes, moderate bitterness, it has the chops to call itself a DIPA. 574deadzone	4.2 Iechyd Da Rye Kolsch Pours a clear, pale blonde with a decent eggshell head that settles down to a thin ring and leaves some spots and ropes of lace. Nose involves a clean lightly sulphuric yeastiness, crusty rye bread dough, some spice notes, almost a lemony citrus note, some light hay and dust. Somewhat sweet, fairly bitter. Light bodied, crisp, active, tingly, finishing dry, spicy, and lightly yeasty. Quenching and refreshing with substance, well done. Monday, July 18, 2016

Nose involves clean golden malt, light Saaz-y spice, and lightly toasted notes. Somewhat sweet, fairly bitter, lightly tart. Medium bodied, dusty, softer carb, with a clean sweet hay finish. Nose involves rich roasted notes, dark fruit akin to fig jam, and some surprising but welcome strawberry and bramble-fruit notes. Quite sweet, somewhat bitter. Heavier bodied, viscous yet actively carbed, with a long fruity and warm alcoholic finish. Really cool, fresh interpretation of the style, on point yet with surprising character. 574deadzone	4.1 Iechyd Da Half Penny Billed as a lower ABV relative of Gumption. Pours a translucent copper-amber with a decent sized cream-colored head that settles slowly and leaves some wavy lace. Nose involves tropical fruity, fleshy pit fruit reminiscent of peaches and plums, some honey-like nectar. Somewhat sweet, decently bitter. Light to medium bodied, oily, active, with a lingering hop oil bitter finish. Very nice, plenty of Citra hop punch without the 8-9% ABV of Gumption, which works for me. Thursday, March 17, 2016

Pretty sweet, reserved bitterness. Decently active, medium bodied, toward syrupy, finishing off-dry and bubbly. 574deadzone	3.6 Iechyd Da G.L. Perry's Basement From a 750 mL bottle, for the first time ever. Pours a hazy dark amber with a slight khaki head that settles to a ring. Nose involves a lot of ginger, cloves, root beer-ish aromas (which their root beer is great, fwiw), and cherries. Pretty sweet with some bitterness. Full bodied, active, oily, with a spicy clove-laden toasty finish. Honestly, these types of winter warmers are not my thing, but this is also the first ever bottle release from my most local of breweries, so it will get extra homer points as a result. Really great label and anyone who grew up in Elkhart absolutely remembers G.L. Perry’s basement. It was a department store, not some satanist child-molester’s house, I promise. 574deadzone	3.7 Iechyd Da Dr. Beardsley Amber Ale Pours a fairly clear orange crimson with a decent cream colored head that leaves some stringy, spotty lace. Nose involves rich toasted malt, caramel, pine resin, earthiness, almost a hint of maple, and candied orange. Some sweetness, quite bitter, surprising considering the malt forward aroma. Lighter bodied, active, oily, somewhat grainy, with a very dry hop oil bitterness on the end. Nose involves hearty bread dough, soft fruit and spice, definite lager yeast, somewhat reminiscent of maibock. Fairly sweet, decently bitter. Medium to full, active, oily yet crisp with lager yeast, finishing doughy and spicy. I wonder if I’m having this past it’s prime, as it does not drink like a snappy IPL. Nose involves plenty of dankness, tropical notes, citrus including lemon zest, and pine. Fairly sweet, intensely bitter. Medium bodied, oily, with a drying tongue scrape of a finish. A decent malt backbone but nothing to get in the way of showcasing some hop fireworks. Good mix on this batch, will be interesting to see what other hop combos Chip does in the future.
