Jessenhofke RSRV 3.7
Drank with Liedewij 22-4-16. Beer has quite some taste, pretty good. Sweet and comprehensive. Okay.

Zweimal in Maastrich getrunken. Vom Hahn im Cafe Take One und aus der Flasche beim CRB Gig im Muziekgieterij. Die Flaschenversion gefiel mir ein bisschen besser,

Bottle, 33cl. Pours mahogany Brown. Clear red/caramel. Nose of bubblegum, Winegum, sweet Candy. Malts and fusels warming sensation. Strong on the palate. Almost a barley wine. Good.

Jessenhofke Pimpernelle 3.1
Bottle, 33cl. Pours golden yellow, dense head. What a list of herbs! Alas no golden ticket to aroma heaven. Quite balanced, spices not distinguishable, slight bitter. Maybe a bit underwhelming

Arvum 2.8
Bottle. Gusher. Blonde. Dust and floral notes in the aroma. Floral hopbitterness, orange and soft vinous notes in the somewhat dusty flavor. Thinnish. Not too bad. Thanks Benzai.

Jessenhofke RSRV 3.5
Bottle from Mam and Dad’s holiday, Belgium. Hazy copper coloured with a thin white head of foam. It has a slight soapy, candi sugar and raisin flavour with toffee and chocolate on the smooth red fruity finish. Not bad.

Jessenhofke Ultima Tripel 3
Bottle @ Juventa beer tasting with Thompson. Looks quite opaque but still consistent. Smell gives you hints and yeast and hops. Taste gives you a bit of grass upfront with a bit of hops following. Overall, quite solid tripel that seems quite unknown.

Jessenhofke RSRV 3.5

Jessenhofke Bruin 3.7
Clear amber body. Off-white rocky head. Aroma of caramel. Moderately bitter, moderately sweet flavour. Well balanced and warning.

Arvum 3.1
Huge, just yellowish head, lacey, over veiled yellow beer with verdigris sheen. Weyish, milky grain, white candi sugar, garden weeds. Bitterish, herbal/greenery flavour. Some underlying pale malt, but very demure. Bit dry-liqueurish, or as watered-down blended whisky. Very spritzy, nearly overcarbonated; light body, seems very well-attenuated. Not sweet, not bitter, not flat, not explosive... very neutral.

Jessenhofke Pimpernelle 2.8
Zachte smaak, fijn overzichtelijk complex.

Jessenhofke Tripel 3.8
Goudblond licht troebel bier met romige witte schuimkraag. Gerst, hooi, tarwe, licht kruidig, beetje honing, romig van smaak. Redelijk veel carbonatie. Licht bitter in de afdronk. Correcte tripel niet meer niet minder.

Jessenhofke Schelpje 2.6

Jessenhofke Tripel 3.4
Typical Belgian triple, well made, robust and very drinkable. Floral smell, with notes of elderflowers, honey, bread dough. Dry and bitter taste, refreshing.

Jessenhofke RSRV 3.8
Dark caramel-brown colour, hazy but otherwise translucid, with a very small tan-coloured head. Smells a bit like a Flemish red, at first - grapes, vinegar, stuff like that - followed by some nice bourbon, maple syrup. The taste is somewhere between an English barleywine and a quad/dubbel, with notes of caramel, apple brandy, maple syrup, bitter hops and alcohol. Medium body, mild carbonation.

Jessenhofke RSRV 3.5

T: 0,33l bottle from De Hopduvel in Gent, malty, huge of plums, some vinous, decent bitterness hoppy, overripe red fruits, banana, caramel, warm alcohol finish, medium to full body, good carbo, for quadruple not so robust taste but as for organic beer it could be ok.

Jessenhofke Ultima Tripel 3.5
Pours clear yellow. Good white head. Smell is citrus, a lot like lemon without the sourness. dry. Taste is Sharp, bit to the bitter side. Again lemon-citrussy. Too much carbo, and the MF is on the low side. The taste is decent though, and overall, it think this is a very uncommon take on the style. Is it better than others? not sure. But I can imagine people discussing this as awefull VS the best , and thats what makes beer truly interesting, isn’t it ?

Jessenhofke RSRV 2.4

Jessenhofke Ultima Tripel 3.1
Draught at Het Haasken in Diest. Dense, creamy, moussy, eggwhite head over a light hazy old gold coloured beer with greenish hue. Aroma of grass, straw, apple peel, cardboard, bubblegum, banana, gooseberry, white bread and a light off-flavour of stale sweat. Crisp onset, fruity with hints of gooseberry, banana and apricot but otherwise dryish, strong carbo even for the style, light sourish graininess in the middle, smooth, with a grassy, spicy hop bitterishness in the finish and some warming alcohol. Very cliché tripel which does not add anything to the style, but acceptable as such.
