Hart Kimber Reserve Imperial Russian Stout
330ml bottle purchased at the Blue Glass, Bedford. Pours a dark and viscous brown. Flat as a pancake, almost zero carbonation. Clove and roast cinnamon, raisins and prunes. Overcooked Christmas pudding aroma, but nice. Sweet chocolate and prune taste is lively, but it turns bitter, almost acrid for the finish. Malt just that little bit too roasted, leaving it unbalanced. Thick gloopy mouthfeel, but feels as flat as it looks. Warming alcohol with a burnt toast aftertaste. Verdict: not without flaws but quite good overall, although it canít touch the classic impy stouts I would certainly have this again.

Cask conditioned at Leicester Beer Festival í15. Dark brown with cream head. There was an over simple malty bitterness to this, some dark roasted malt notes, a little thin on the palate. There is a bitter, dry finish. A little underwhelming.

Hart Green Hop 2013
Bottled 23/06/14. This gushed slightly and poured with a massive loose white head and lots of lace. It was also hazy as the yeast was disturbed. Soapy and a bit astringent in the mouth. Yeast can be tasted. Clearly highly hopped although the yeast detracts from them a bit and Iím not a fan of green hops anyway. A BCA with issues.

Hart House Beer
Cask @ Rose & Crown, Yardley Hastings. Branded as a house special. Itís a shade lighter than English bitter brown. Modest grass and spruce hop aromas - ever-so-slight smoke? Bittersweet start. Bitterness augments throughout to a papery dry finish. Iíve heard a lot about Hart brewery, and this certainly didnít disappoint.

Cask conditioned at Birmingham Beer Fest í13. Chestnut with ruby hue and off white head. A rich, smooth beer, quite like a ruby mild in character, silky chocolate malt notes nicely amalgamated with the other flavours. There is a late fruity, fructose sweetness. A very pleasant beer.

Hart 1833 IPA
Bottled 26/05/13. This gushed quite a lot on opening and hence poured sludgy due to the mixed up yeast. Itís orange gold and despite the gushing had barely any whitish bubbles for a head. The yeastiness gave it a Belgesque candy sugar sweetness note. Very bitter oranges from the high hop levels. The yeast really does distract from what Iím lead to believe are great hoppy flavours. Would give it another go.

Cask conditioned gravity dispense Hart Brewery Wellingborough. An orangey gold coloured beer with barely any head. Sharp orangey hopping. Thereís a sweetness in there though thatís means it doesnít gel properly for me. The hops are strong and make their mark and give it credence but it turns into a bit of a mixed bag.

Cask conditioned gravity dispense Hart Brewery Wellingborough. A reddy brown coloured beer with an off-white head. A full bodied US amber style beer. Lots of fruity hops with some sweeter crystal malts. A long finish. UK Casades give it that US edge. Malty sweetness is kept to sensible levels. Tasty enjoyable stuff.

Cask conditioned handpump Hart Brewery Wellingborough 10/11/12. The last cask of 2012. A golden coloured beer with a bubbly whitish head. Highly hopped with obvious green hops giving good bitterness but also that slight sourness which I find from these harvest beers using the first hops. Lemony elements and bit of puke. Bags of character but not totally my bag.
