2.4 Golden Duck Nosey Parker Handpull cask from the Salmon, Leicester. Mid- to dark gold and clear with a film of white head. Greywater and glue aroma. Improved taste, bittersweet with intense medicinal notes near the finish. This was a bit of a struggle to be honest. Wednesday, February 7, 2024

2.6 Golden Duck Hayles Ale Hand-pulled half-pint at the Railway Tavern, Newport Shropshire on 23rd March 2023. I kind of agree with Martin (the only other rating so far), it's a funny none descript sort of beer with a fairly bland nature, almost clear light golden blonde with a lasting white head. It lacks oomph and flavour with very little hop of malt action to talk about. Thursday, March 23, 2023

3.2 Golden Duck For England Handpull cask at the Kings Head, Leicester. Mid- to dark gold and clear with a small white head. Light woody aroma with some resinous gluey notes, some buttered toast. Tastes medicinal, then slightly sweet with caramel and bubblegum, then with a slightly astringent bitterness. The bitterness stays in the long finish. certainly odd, but it's nice to have a beer that's not run of the mill. Thursday, September 3, 2020

2 Golden Duck Hayles Ale Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford (not listed in RateBeer). Well the brewery and Untappd seem to think this is a bitter, so that’s what I’ve added it as. But I think it’s more like a pale ale. Anyway, pours a golden yellow with a small white head. Has a slight aroma of oranges. Undistinguished in the mouth, with just some general fruitiness. Finish is slightly bitter though. After rating a beer with too many flavours (Slaters 1995 – 25 years), this is a beer with no flavour. Bland is the word ! Thursday, July 16, 2020

2.7 Golden Duck Extra Pale Cask conditioned at The Craven Arms, Birmingham. Pale gold with white head. The first flavour to emerge is certainly of boiled caramel unfortunately, boiled malts in a thin body. Lemon zesty flavours try to come through with a note of orange, some sweetness. This was freshly pulled through when I was there so can only imagine it is how it should be. Just okay. Thursday, January 30, 2020

1.3 Golden Duck Lunny's No.8 Cask at the Broomfield Tavern, Coventry, 22/04/15. Clear golden with a decent white cap that retains well - a good opening for this rate, as good as it ever got ! Nose is bland, light citric, bread dough, but no hint as to the foul flavour to follow! Taste is chemicals, TCP, infected from every angle, cleaning solution, garbage. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, chemical rinse. Reading Glen’s review below I have and had no doubt this mess was anything to do with the pubs cellar keeping. Was of time ! 3 Golden Duck Bodie's Bottom Lip Cask @ The Dolphin, Shrewsbury. First off, lots of roasted coffee with a grainy mouthfeel.. some bitter chocolate in the coffee dregs, with roasted malts teasing the tongue. Not as bad as others at the bar had me believe pre-order, but an interesting one. Wednesday, January 8, 2014

3.3 Golden Duck Bodie's Bottom Lip Cask conditioned at The Broomfield Tavern, Coventry. Dark brown with slight cream head. There are plenty of chocolate roasted malt flavours initially with this, bitter dark chocolate hints, some roasted coffee husk, dryness. There is a thin character later which is a little surprising, but a reasonable beer overall. Sunday, December 29, 2013

3 Golden Duck Santa's Stumped Cask conditioned at The Broomfield Tavern, Coventry. Dark amber with no head.
