3.9 Elixir Benedictine Groove II: Enter The Flagon Bottle from the Bow Bar, Edinburgh. Dark black with a purplish tinge. Some lovely beige/tan head on top. Smells like many of the component parts - I get the tonic wine and smoke very strongly, along with herb garden (lavender and sage?), blackberry and a heady dose of liquorice. Taste is sweet and quite fruity but there’s a tinge of bitterness in the finish. Warming for sure but it doesn’t taste 10%. While I like this, I mean I really like this, I wouldn’t have minded a slight toning down of the much-maligned tonic wine. Tuesday, November 24, 2015 | |
