Cold Bore Trident Dark Ale
Bomber from Valley Farm. Dark almost black in color. Somewhat roasty nose. A little metallic as well. Highly carbonated. Flavor is a little roast. A little bit of sweetness. Finish is burnt coffee. Too prickly for the style.

Cold Bore First Shot Ale
Bomber (8.4) from Palm Springs. Light amber in color upon pouring. Lightly sticky hopped nose. Flavor is somewhat hopped. Peppery hop flavors along with a dry grapefruit finish. Decent hop character, albeit one dimensional.

Cold Bore Trident Dark Ale
Bottle from South Bay Liquor: I was astonished to find a bottle of beer from a company from Jamul, California since I hadn’t heard news of them yet. Anyways, appeared as a dark brown liquid and created a monstrous sizing of head that looked similar to a thick lather of shaving cream. Aroma is bold with roast malts that bring out scents of sugar cane, vanilla and dark chocolate with a slight chance of ground coffee bean. The flavor is mild with a subtle profile of roast malts that doesn’t live up to the expectations that my nose had lead me to believe but it is enough to keep my interest throughout the drink. The malts do taste a bit grainer and of a distinct barely malt that I can’t identify which I think is unique about this porter. Slightly dry finish with a linger of lactic sour milk.
