"Beglo yeast" aroma with orange, citrus, coriander and bread. Medium carbonated, really smooth and silky mouthfeel. Fruity taste of orange, apricot jam, grapes, grass, coriander and biscuits. Dry refreshing finish!

En primer lugar, hay que saber que esttas degustando una witbier muy especial, casi un cava muy fino. Botella de 75 cl. con corcho como de vino tapado con cera verde. Servida en copa de cava, creo, lo mas adecuado. La cerveza es de un color dorado palido, Cabeza muy parecida a la del cava con burbuja mas fina, bastante persistente. Un aroma muy marcado al estilo belga. En boca la sensacion es muy fina, frescor seguido de un picante en lengua, posiblemente por el toque a cilantro. En paladar trigo belga, melocoton, mandarina y cilantro. Todas las caracteristicas de esta cerveza muy marcadas de una manera muy fina. Muy buena para platos de pescado y perfecta para quien quiera un cava.

Bottle at Spritmuseum. Clear reddish color with no head. Completely still pour. Sweet, caramel aroma with toffee, dried papaya and light vanilla. Taste is more dried papaya, vanilla and caramelly toffee. Very sweet.

Clear amber/copper coloured, no head at all, strong malt and notes of alcohol in the nose. Heavy malty, noticable alcohol, dried fruits, notes of oak and a bit too sticky sweetness in the finish. Well balanced and overall quite good...but unfortunately not great.

Un liquide ambré et voilé sans mousse véritable. Un simulacre de ce que fut jadis la symbiose entre la levure et le sucre n’est plus qu’un mince film blanc de surface. Un nez de fleurs pollinisées, de miel, de vieille poche (de malt!) et de caramel d’épicerie. Je ne trouve pas que ça sente véritablement mauvais, mais une étiquette qui m’annonce une Super Bitter m’emmčne ŕ me faire des attentes. Or le liquide m’emmčne dans une toute autre direction - une direction que je n’ai pas choisie en ce moment précis et qui me trouble un peu. Beaucoup de malts caramel en bouche et de sucre d’orge. Le liquide est toutefois trčs aqueux et plutôt mince, ce qui le rend plus facile ŕ boire, heureusement d’ailleurs! Les houblons poudreux apportent fleur sans amertume, ni en attaque ni en finale. L’alcool est assez bien dissimulée mais réchauffe tout de męme mon estomac. Je me répčte: cette bien n’est pas mauvaise du tout mais cette étiquette trompeuse me fait hésiter et nuit ŕ l’expérience de dégustation.

Bue en bouteille de 33cl chez Anne, couleur blonde, belle mousse qui tombe lentement et belle effervescence. Nez sur l’amertume et les saveurs des levures. Attaque sčche et piquante en bouche avec une pointe de levure. Continuité sur le fruit jaune avec une petite pointe de coriandre en fin de bouche, on ressent la bergamote quand la bičre se chauffe.

A Baladin mesterei a Xyauyu elnevezésű főzetüket dohánylevelek felhasználásával tették férfiasabb karakterűvé, ezáltal egy egészen kivételes hangulatot kölcsönözve a főzetnek, amely szerkezetét illetően inkább hasonlít egy testesebb, édes fehérborhoz, mint sörhöz, mely által a barley wine, mint stílus szó szerinti fordítása is a legtalálóbb jelzővé válik az ital esetében. A 600. bejegyzetten kóstolt sörként mindazonáltal valami hasonlót képzelhet el az ember különlegesség tekintetében, az exkluzív jelleggel tehát gond nemigen lehet. 2011 batch. Perfectly clear, copper and ruby color, no carbonation, no head. Amazing aroma, unbelievable rich. Notes of rum, cherry, wood, vanilla, even sweet chocolate. And alcohol in the back end. In taste it’s so sweet, full of rum, raisins, vanilla, a bit of port wine. Alcohol is super pleasant, especially when it evaporate to the back of the nose. The aftertaste might be a bit longer - that is all I would change in this beer. Mouth feel is so perfect. Beer is so smooth and so velvety. Love it.

Stora maltiga fruktiga smaker som doften, men ocksĺ blandat lite estrigt fruktgodis. Bra balans och riktigt snygg. En riktigt bra klassisk belgisk strong ale.

Un liquide blond trčs pâle aux reflets un peu ternes et grisâtres. Un feu d’artifice éclatant dans mon verre dű ŕ la quantité importante de ces minuscules bulles émanent énergiquement du fond de mon verre! Un nez bien simple de blé et de coriandre en grains concassés. C’est également bien simple en bouche et il serait sensé de croire que cette bičre est une blanche. Beaucoup de blé, amertume douce, plutôt ronde et soyeuse. Pas de levure banane ici. Un parfum de citron qui mélangé ŕ la coriandre (dont je retiens un goűt ferreux qui me rappelle le persil frais) forme un mélange bien méditérranéen. Soyeuse bien qu’effervescente, cette bičre simple se boit facilement et sans façons!

Taste is sweet, malty, toffee, wet sweet tobacco, vanilla, oak. Light sherry, grapes, chocolate. Light toast. Finish balanced out by smoky dryness. Oily texture, no carbonation. Awesome.

Ambrata con una discreta schiuma color crema. Il caramello ed i lmalti offrono al naso una sensazione di dolcezza che si ritrova tutta al sorso. Lievi sentori di frutta secca con un amaro che riesce a fare solo capolino subito messo all'angolo dal ritorno dei malti. Un buon corpo segue la bevuta che non evolve mai verso una secchezza invitante.

Taste is really sweet with all sorts of sugar flavors: caramel, brown sugar and even maple. Moderately boozy. Full body, no carbonation and a syrupy mouthfeel. Good but not mindblowing to me. Just a big, big barleywine.

Taste is of maple toffee, barley sugar, fruits, molasses, alcohol. Palate: Full bodied. No serious carbonation. Overall: Good stuff. A sipper. Very complex and oxydized.

Bottle (500 ml) at tasting. Thanks to hackobock for this bottle! Clear amber with no hear nor lacing but leaving some legs on the glass. Aroma is intensely molasses forward with dried raisins, rum, port like earthy notes, oak and oxidation notes. Taste is sweet but not cloying with loads of molasses along port like earthiness, figs, dates, dried raisins, rum spiciness, some alcohol warmth and hints of vanilla. Full body. Soft carbonation. Oily and a bit liquorous mouthfeel. Mouth coating sweetness that helps to keep the alcohol warmth restrained and vice versa. This is one of the best Barley Wine I have had so far. The malt depth is absolutely incredible. The balance is pretty good despite the loads of molasses and the balance between sweetness and alcohol is pinpoint. The oxidation and port like notes gives a wonderful complexity to this beer. Wonderful sipper!

Tasting @Open Baladin (Rome). Pours copper, a bit unclear, with no head. Aroma of caramel, sweet wine, booze soaked fruit, jukubes, no evident traces of kentucky. Flavour is medium to heavy sweet, silky, amazing. Full body, flat, oxidated. Amazing beer!

500ML Bottle, pours fully flat like the others of this extended aging barley-wine project. Maroon reddish brown. Looks like a pour of cognac. ah, dark fruit city. Raisin, clove, fig, grape and whiskey. Coats the tongue and sticks around. Loads of dark fruit. Identical to the aroma except the addition of vanilla, coconut and even more raisin. It’s sweet and certainly signs of oxidation but certainly still perfectly drinkable. I don’t want to like these but I don’t love them for their unique-ness..I love them for how damn good they are

pours clear dark copper, burnt orange tint, without a head. loads of cloying maple, rum, plain barley sugars, doughy caramel, wood - soft tannins, sherry fruitiness, minerals. flat carbonation, full body - thick like a pedio infection; cloying maple-spicy finish. abc well integrated. not my type of barley wine - complex but eh.
