Tap at RJ. Aroma malty, balanced with light hops. Overall a bit mild, but that is okay. Clear golden colour. Stable head. Taste has some off-seting DMS, cooked corn. Otherwise moderate bitterness, only light malt in background. Drinkability and finish suffer due to the off elements.

Tap at RJ. Aroma hoppy with some vegetal DMS. Clear golden colour. Stable white head. Taste is well balanced, with hops on top, a bit sharp, and malt underneath. Finish turns somewhat DMSy. Okay, though the finish ruins the drinkability for me.

Tapped at the brewpub. Nice golden color typical for Czech lagers. Good stable white head. Aroma more malty than hoppy. Taste was initial malt, some caramel, although the head brewer said he does not use any caramel malt at all, and hoppy finish. The beer was well balanced. Nothing mind blowing but tasty and refreshing.

Tapped at the brewpub. Color golden, aroma of caramel, some malt and hops. Taste is very hoppy, really hoppy for this kind of lager. Refreshing. Overall good but too hoppy for my taste. It tends to be an american pale ale in taste of hoppyness.

Keg at ZBF. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a dense White head. Grassy, peppery saaz leading to a dry finish with a lovely malty midsection. I think Martin T covered it eloquently in the previous rate to mine. A very good Svetly and an apparently great producer.

Keg at ZBF. I reached the top of the hill at Parukarka, parched in the blazing heat and was handed this badboy. Golden, fizzy and with a lustrous White head. The flavour was refreshing with light malt and prominent hops. A dusty, grassy and bone dry finish. It was an outstanding beer moment. The beer caught me at exactly the right time.

2l PET bottle I brought back from CZ. Rather dark gold pour, clear. Light slightly fruity aroma, pear, honey, peach, sesame, light caramel. Taste is light, light honey sweetness, very very dry, dusty hop finish. Palate is almost powdery, crisp.

Moravský Žižkov Žižkovský Ležák 11° 3.7
My Bottom Line:
Honeyed malts and spicy Saaz evolve in a slender, well-sculpted mouthfeel, building an archetypal Svetly.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A tower of foam sits atop the shiny honeyed golden.
-Malt flavors are beautifully showcased.
-Drinkability is as high as you can imagine.
-Peppery hop bitterness builds slowly but surely. Num num.
-Delicate and elegant; a true Czech brew that showcases base ingredients of great quality.
-This is another Urquell grandchild that’s wise and mature.

Fresh PET bottle.
