On tap at Colorado Plus poured a clear dark redfish brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of whiskey, dark chocolate, roasted malt and coffee. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of whiskey, dark chocolate, vanilla and light roastiness with a smooth lingering whiskey finish.

On tap at the brewery. Light amber, reddish and pretty clear appearance with a light tan head. Aroma of fruity esters and light alcohol. Nice vanilla forward flavor, with notes of caramel malt, chocolate and toffee with a lingering, light woody oak finish. Moderate malt sweetness balanced by a light hop bitterness. Medium to full body with a smooth, creamy feel. Pretty easy drinking for a barleywine. Nicely done.

On tap at the brewery as Bark Twice if Youíre in Milwaukee, 10.4%. Clear brown appearance with a tan head diminishing to a thin veil of foam. The aroma is light alcohol, caramel, cocoa, light wood, vanilla, toffee and chocolate. Similar flavor, adding a moderate hop bitterness (earthy/piney) balanced by a mild, rich malty sweetness. Medium to full body with a touch of booze on the finish. A solid American-style Barleywine overall.

Black Bottle Angry Elf 3.6
On tap at the brewery as Angry Elf 2015. Reddish-brown and pretty clear appearance with a small, diminishing tan head. The aroma is fruity, sweet and malty with a hint of barnyard funk. Similar flavor, adding notes of caramel malt, toffee and vanilla. Moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly tart. The alcohol is hidden well. Pretty full body with a smooth, creamy feel and soft carbonation. Complex and interesting overall, Iíd like to know the details of what went into this beer.

On tap at the brewery. Black appearance with a light brown head and light lacing. Aroma of light alcohol, dark malts and a hint of roast. Similar flavor, adding more roast, bitter chocolate, light coffee and a hint of molasses. Medium to full body. Slightly disappointing for an RIS, a style I usually enjoy.

On tap at the brewery. Deeper brown and clear appearance with a small, lingering tan head. Enticing aroma, huge peanut butter nose with nutty malts, light roast and light coffee. Similar flavor, adding caramel, chocolate, nutella and toffee. Light to medium body, a little thin, with a light dry, mild bittersweet finish. An excellent porter, more peanut butter notes than any beer Iíve had marketed as such.

On tap at the brewery. Deep, dark brown and clear appearance with a diminishing tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, light roast and nutty malts. Similar flavor, rich, dark, malty and balanced. Light to medium body with a creamy feel, a little thin but pretty nice overall.

On tap at the brewery. Clear bright golden appearance with a white ring of foam. Aroma of coffee, nutty malts and light floral hops. Similar flavor, a nice blonde coffee ale with a light body. Easy to drink and pretty legit overall.

Black Bottle Blood Orange Floozy 3.4
From growler. Pours hazy orange amber with a small creamy white head that quickly goes to a thin film that leaves little lacing.

The aroma is wheat malts with creamy orange and some Belgian funk.

The flavor is lots of sweet citric orange (kind of orange cream) with wheat malt and some Belgian funk. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, I like what the blood orange adds. A little more like a creamsicle this time rather than fresh citrus.

From growler. Pours hazy straw yellow with a small creamy white head that quickly goes to a light dusting that leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is sweet floral perfumey grains with some fruit and bubblegum.

The flavor is sweet bubblegum malts with some spices (pepper, coriander, chamomile) and a bit of fruit with a dry finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, a decent Belgian blond.

From growler. Pours slightly hazy straw gold with a small creamy white head that retains well and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is sweet grainy malts with noble hops and some perfumey bubblegum Belgian notes.

The flavor is sweet cracker malts with perfumey, floral, slightly bubblegum Belgian notes and some peppery hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, an OK tripel, not really digging the bubblegum.

Black pour with a thin light beige foamy top. Big caramelly and boozy whiskey-d oaked nose with a touch of roast and sweet cocoa undertones. Essentially smells like chocolaty whiskey. Flavor is the same, but without a lot of booze heat. Cocoa, oak, vanilla, grainy caramalty whiskey, more oak, and a little smokey roast. Really great.

Clear deep brilliant Amber with a thin beige foamy top. Smooth and delightful nose of cherry/strawberry with a pleasant earthy Belgian blonde saison graininess. Flavor of the same. Saison esters meet with nice sweet red fruitiness, pleasant pilsner grains, a gentle bit of grassy hop, very gentle bitterness, and a clean light strawberry finish.

Brilliant clear golden with a thin foamy white top. Wheaty and pilsnerish nose with a stern earthy grassy hop note. Slight touch of fruitiness, not necessarily pomegranate. Smooth and pilsnerific flavor with very noble grassy hops, gentle pomegranates, wheaty Pilsner grains, and a noble bitter grassy hop and gentle red fruity finish. Not shabby. Very clean and quaffable.

Clear dark Amber with a thin foamy light beige cap. Big artificial pumpkin goo aroma with a lot of pumpkin spice. Smooth cracker-biscuity lager flavor with a hefty dose of artificial pumpkin spice, allspice, and a bit of roasted pumpkin. Fine for what it tries to be. Smooth and quaffable.

Light bodied with a crisp feel and ample carbonation. Easy to drink, and not overdone with the spices.

Growler. Pours clear copper amber with a medium creamy off white head that goes to a thin film that laces the glass.

The aroma is mellow perfumey pumpkin pie spices.

The flavor is sweet malts with pumpkin pie spices and a bit of a crisp finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, an OK pumpkin beer. The lager base gives it a bit more crisp bitterness.

The aroma is grapefruit and piney hops.

The flavor is sweet bready caramel malts with grapefruit and piney resiny hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, I like what the grapefruit adds to the regular version.

The aroma is roast black patent malt and coffee.

The flavor is strong acidic roasted black patent malt and some coffee with some ashy bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, dominated by the roast. I remember this being a much better balance of chocolate and coffee.

The aroma is roast malt, coffee and some chocolate and hazelnut.

The flavor is sweet fudgy chocolate malts with coffee and light hazelnut and a big roast finish thatís slightly acidic. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, a nice chocolate and roast coffee stout with some light hazelnut.
