Leinenkugels Harvest Patch Shandy
can @ Florence Freedom game --- Nearly clear light amber, white head that quickly shrinks to a thin cover, a few lace dots. Taste is spritzy sweet pumpkin with light spice that remains true to the openers through a short finish. Refreshing on a hot day; ...but hard to call this a beer.

Leinenkugels Oktoberfest
bottle @ Florence Freedom game --- Clear medium / dark amber, off-white head that sinks to a full cover, full sheets of lace. Taste is light malt that thins as pumpkin (no noticeable spice) and light fizz move through a short, somewhat bitter, polite finish. Too much like raw pumpkin, which I would avoid.

Leinenkugels Grapefruit Shandy
Hazy, bright yellow light bodied Weiss beer with a natural flavored grapefruit maximizing the overall flavor of the beer. With grapefruit hoppy beers all the rage this year Leinekugels hit the mark with this Shandy. Hot summer evening, drinking on my brotherís pack porch this Grapefruit Shandy was the perfect beer for the moment.

can. Poured clear golden with a skin white head. Kinda funky grainy aroma. Light body, average carbonation. Generic grainy flavour, a little more bready malt than expected, herbal hop note. Drinkable but not repeatable.

Leinenkugels Ginger Shandy
A summery and soda-like shandy, this Leinenkugels brew is pretty damn approachable. That makes sense, the goal after all is mass consumption, but thereís some really thoughtful touches. The ginger is spicy without being hugely bold (kind of a bummer for me, but good if youíre partial to milder ginger ale). Thereís some malty wheat sweetness and a juicy orange freshness. Light-colored and light-bodied. Fizzy. Itís pretty much an adult ginger ale, and one with a fairly low ABV at that. I canít complain.

Leinenkugels Harvest Patch Shandy
Poured from 12 oz bottle into pilsner glass Appearance: 1" white head drops quickly, a tiny bit of lacing. Color is cloudy yellow/orange with frothy carbonation. Aroma: pumpkin and spices oh my! Reminds me of a warm pumpkin spice roll I had years ago. Mouthfeel: light and sodalike with a fairly dry finish. Flavor: clove, nutmeg and pumpkin built around a yeast roll and wheat base with some pleasant citrus for balance. Overall: I am NOT a fan of spiced/flavored beers, but if I had to drink one, this would be an excellent choice. Well done Leinenkugel!

Cloudy bright gold color. Great white head, dense and white. You can smell the grapefruit 2 feet away. This is just like drinking grapefruit juice and then finishes with malt and has a ceral aftertasted. Other than that sugary grain aftertaste its quite excellent.

12 ounce bottle, 3/6/16. Clear dark amber, thin foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of toasted malt, tinny hops, apples and citrus. The taste is strong tea notes, as in black tea. Weird. Also some citrus, apples, raisin, herbal hops and toasted malt. Thin bodied, low carbonaton. What a weird beer.

Color is like a light, translucent pilsner. Aroma has hints of bitter and sour. Tart is a good word to describe the aroma. Taste is tart, slightly bitter, and refreshing at the start. Body and finish leave something to be desired. Finishes quickly. Mouthfeel is very light. I'd prefer a slight bit more flavor. More sour. Or something. Infinitely crushable on a hot day. *12 oz bottle into pint glass. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Leinenkugels India Pale Lager (IPL)
Picked up a single 12-oz bottle from Ridgeview Liquors in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear golden orange amber colored brew with an average sized off-white head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind excellent lacing. Aroma of grapefruit and pine with caramel malt and a touch of Libbyís fruit cup cocktail. Taste is medium bodied with flavors of pine, grapefruit, and multi-golden grain malts. Finish has a short earthy sharp bitterness at first followed by some lingering pine aftertaste. Tongue shock recovery time, approx two minutes.

Bottle from a Lazy Dog. Pours a brilliantly clear light golden color with a decent sized bubbly white head that shows moderate retention. Aromas of tart lemon and light starchy bready malt. Lightly tart flavor reminds me of lemons with little else going on in the flavor. Very clean but one dimensional really.

Aroma: maple, wheat, bread dough, and a bit of citrus Mouthfeel: light and very frothy, somewhat astringent in the finish. Flavor: rich roasted malts, some wheat and maple (milder than in the nose) with a bit of citrus bitterness to round it out. Overall: a very decent deer.

Leinenkugels BeerGarten Tart
Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance Ė The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a one finger head of fizzy white foam. The head fades very fast leaving just a trace of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell ĖThe aroma of the brew is strongest of tart green apple smell mixed with a little bit of a grainy smell. Along with these aromas are a little bit of hay and some grass as well. Taste-The taste begins with a slightly sour taste of green apples and a bit of caramel sweetness. There is a lighter cracker taste that is also present upfront, which creates a base flavor for the brew. As the taste advances the sour green apple grows stronger, all while the lighter sweetness fades a bit. While the sour grows stronger, it never grows all that potent, but instead just adds a nice background sourness to the cracker background, which actually gets slightly more bready in nature as the taste moves to the end. With some light hop tastes of grass and hay coming at the very end combined with all the other flavor transitions, one is left with a more lightly green apple soured pale ale taste to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel Ė The body of the brew is on the slightly thinner side with a carbonation level that is rather high. For the mix of pale ale and sour tastes of the brew the feel is quite nice and makes for an easy drinking brew. Overall Ė This was a sour I actually rather like. Now I am not a sour brew fan overall, so the lightness in sour was great for me. This is a good sour for people that arenít super fond of sours or for people that are new to the sour brew game.

Leinenkugels India Pale Lager (IPL)
12 ounce bottle from Badger Spirits in Beloit, WI (July 2016). Pours a faintly hazy dark amber verging on copper, with a largish off-white head that diminishes quite slowly leaving plenty of wispy foam bits in the glass....strong resinous/piney nose is definitely more IPA than lager at first whiff, though bready malts do come through eventually along with perhaps some clover honey...on the tongue, it really does come off as a credible blend of the more fruity, estery characteristics of a hoppy ale mixing carefully with a drier, smoother pale-malted lager, not as full or juicy as most IPAS certainly (but enough), and a little more hop-juice-forward than a pils...fairly full-bodied, strongly bitter and relatively dry finish. This is better on tap I think - one of my favorite local restaurants which alas doesnít have as good a tap list as it could/should had this on for several months a couple of years ago and I got it every time; but itís pretty solid in the bottle too, and almost certainly my current favorite among this breweryís current products, at least apart from the Big Eddie series.

Leinenkugels Watermelon Shandy
Light on booze, body, melon, and color Leinenkugelís Watermelon Shandy is unlikely to overwhelm anybody. Really, that seems to be the whole point. Itís a summer beer for the masses. And you know what? Thatís okay. While very light, the melon is sweet and refreshing. The cereal grains are uncomplicated and smooth. I probably would rate this much differently in the winter rather than the summer. This type of thing only makes sense at this time of year.

Leinenkugels India Pale Lager (IPL)
OK, you know india pale happy bullshit has become ubiquitous when Liney starts making an IPL and Blue Moony makes an IPA! LOL LOL. Pretty dawg gone funny. Looks like an IPA. Smells a lot like a duller fruity ipa. But I must say, it lacks any of that contemporary BO I get on the nose so much from todayís IPA. Has a lot of those IPA flavors super impressed into a lager I guess. Big chewing green grapefruit rinds mixed with pine sap tar all while chewing on spruce needles attitude, just like an IPA thatís treading on impy IPA territory. Yes every swig is a mouth coating palate wrecking roto taste bud tilling experience. Over the top. One thing tho, and I guess this is how you can tell its not an ale?.....It seems to be less viscous and has a little co2 in there. Not impressed with the over all lager wants to be an ale happy BS. Go figger. Look, this has all the attributes of imperial IPA, and it doesnít mean itís easier to take because its a fricken lager! Terribly on stupid ass style. WIK, WDIC?

Cloudy gold beer with a thick foamy bright white head. Fruity nose of grapefruit juice, citrus pith, and refined sugar. Flavor is sweet and tart with a bracing grapefruit bitterness giving way to a sugary sweetness and finishing with some mild hops. Yep, bought a case hoping it was better than it was. Not really berliner in nature, I guess thatís why it says berliner ístyleí on the package. Odd off aroma. Taste is easy going and somewhat watery with a tad of tartness, not much, just mildly tart. But hey, I was just at the RBSG 2016 where I was pummled with sour beers so this may be why I donít think it comes across as described. Has a little bit of that processed macro feel to it. I can live with this, but was expecting something a little more lively or tangy for something that called itself tart or beliner. Go figger. In the end, it could use a little more co2 as well.

Another can from the mixed shandy pack. Very cloudy medium "ginger" color. Frothy off white head settles to thin lace. Pleasant aromas and flavor. Good spice notes. Notable bready wheat background. Would be more refreshing with a hint of lemon. Maybe I will use this as a mixer. Perhaps with a splash of Goslings rum?

I had this years ago on tap and thought it was very sweet. This rating is from the canned version. It pours out a cloudy lemony color. Frothy offf white head. Flavor is of tart-sweet lemon. Pours a dark reddish brown. Nice one and half finger khaki head. Pretty good retention, light lacing.

Aroma is medium/dark roasted malts. Has cherries, raisins and other fruits like that. Also a touch of cocoa and caramel.

Taste is almost exactly the same as the aroma. Nice dark roasted malt sweetness. Lots of dark fruits like cherries and raisins in the flavor. Good cocoa and caramel in there too.

Mouthfeel is medium body. Itís very smooth, no bitterness at all, no alcohol taste. Perhaps a touch sour on the swallow.

Overall, this is quite delicious. Wish it were higher ABV, but the flavor is very good. I would drink this again, and I also would recommend it. Yummy!

Canned version - part of a shandy mix pack. Pours out a super cloudy light orange-yellow color. Frothy off white head. Nice aroma and flavor. The wheat beer goes well with this style. More than a standard lager with soda. Better than Stiegl. Quite refreshing but with a long tart finish. Not overly sweet. A perfect lawnmower or summer picnic beer!
