Wayward Violet Beauregarde’s Blueberry Marshmallow Lactose Sour Ale
Restrained tart aroma in a raspberry pour. Similarly laid back tart berry body with a subtle hint of marshmallow and smooth cream. Given its modest strength this would be an excellent cricket watching beer.

Wayward Golden Daze
375ml can from Boathouse Super Cellars on 28 July 2023. This is my 41st beer from Wayward Brewing Company and it is a cracker of a beer that is so easy to drink. Juicy and hazy looking in the glass with a soapy white head. Aromas of pineapple, peach and mango fill the nose and make you want to dive straight into the beer. In the mouth there is a full juicy flavour, little bitterness and a slightly hoppy finish. To top it all off the artwork in the can looks great as well.

Wayward Violet Beauregarde’s Blueberry Marshmallow Lactose Sour Ale
Can from BWS Cornubia on 30 June 2023, part of the 2023 GABS pack. This is my 40th beer from Wayward Brewing Company and I have to admit that I had absolutely no idea who Violet Beauregard was until I did some research on this beer, so as it turns out this is another beer inspired by a character from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. What a beer it is, very Willy Wonkerish with its bright red/pink colour and soft layer of white foam. In the mouth the beer has a lot more body to it than most sour beers and there is a smooth creaminess as well. The beer itself is easy to drink and has a modest level of sourness and there is also a sweetness in there as well.

Wayward Raspberry Berliner Weisse
A good four years in the fridge, this is now a vintage, so high time it got the 'empty it' treatment!
Into a tulip, chilled. Deep orange with a pinkish hue. Hazy; almost still in look with no head. Pronounced, sweet, khoulis-esque raspberry nose; almost jammy and candyish. Heady acidity on the palate (weird as the aroma gives away little!). Astringent and puckering. Raspberry is there - still jammy and concentrated - but then leaned out to match the high attenuation and thin, vinous body. Little length; ends abrasively but crisp. Highly effervescent. Really dances across the palate. Lightly mineral-like, but wonderfully bright and refreshing. A Nice, light Berliner Weissbier. (37,5cL can, PKD 08/08/2019, Cellarbrations Lynwood)

Wayward Passionista
Geez, I need to clean the fridge out from the back forward. One from 2019.
Into a tulip, chilled. Highly charged, highly effervescent and lively on the pour; though the head lasts a mere few seconds before fading to nothing at all. Hazy peach coloured brew and thinly looking. Prominent yuzu, citric tang to the nose with a sweet hit of passionfruit and bready, powdery wheat. Sour and puckering on the palate with a nice acidity that sees it drop off crisp and short. Yuzu and passionfruit - though quite attenuated to be subtle - dominate with less of the wheat of the aroma. Astringent but in a good way; lightly vinous and reminiscent of a fruity, but dry sparkling Prosecco. Body is featherweight and the carbonation but not biting. This is a refreshing, flavoured Berliner Weissbier. Impressed!! (37,5cL can, PKD 08/11/2019, Cellarbrations Lynwood)

Can label is "Wayward Son Hazy IPA with citra and lupulin". Assume it's the same beer. Aromas of pine, biscuit, apricot, mango and honey. Nicely balanced in the mouth. Would like a bit more floral and tropical flavours on the tongue, but very nice.

Strong aromas of grapefruit, passionfruit and pineapple plus a little honey. A similar taste with a good amount of hop bitterness to match that juiciness. A slight lightness of body is my only criticism.

Can. Pours hazy pale straw with a very slight tinge of pink. Acidic, slightly yeasty and very mildly fruity aroma. Quite tart, mild sweetness with just a hint of fruit, like the aftertaste of an almost ripe strawberry. Light body, lively carbonation with a fairly short fruity finish.

Wayward Ripasso Bianco
(Bottle) Pours hazy golden amber with small loose white head. Lovely complex aroma. There’s a dominant tart aroma reminiscent of wine vinegar. There’s some funkiness, some pepper, some oak. Could sniff it for a long time! Medium bodied with excellent carbonation. The taste is excellent and complex. It has a definite vinous character, and some nice oak. The Brett is loud and clear. It also has saison characteristics with peppery and funky notes. A very unusual, interesting and enjoyable drink.

BB 10/22. From a can poured a clear coppery-amber with 2cm of beige open foam that retained very well and laced well. Carbonation high, lively and medium to coarse. Aroma moderately strong caramel malt with hoppy notes. Taste is moderately strong caramel and slight Christmas-like spices. Light body with a slightly thin mouthfeel. Smooth, crisp and clean with a medium-length finish. A nice amber ale.

Wayward Hazy Mid
(Can) Poured a very hazy golden yellow. Nice aroma of fresh hops, slightly perfumy and citrusy. Nicely carbed with pretty good head retention. First taste is some acidic pineyness, refreshing and envigorating aftertaste when cold. Malt profile is obscured by the sourness and hop flavours. Something different, I don't mind this at all, sorry I can't give it a higher rating but am restricted because mid strength beer doesn't quite do the job lol

Wayward Island Life Coffee and Coconut Stout
(Can) Pours black with short lived loose tan head. Pleasant but surprisingly fruity aroma with mango and pear drops. Hints of dark roast malt. Medium body and rather fizzy. Taste is unusual and quite a lot going on. There’s the same exotic fruitiness in the start which is quickly joined by chocolate, vanilla and dark roast malts, and then by dark coffee bitterness. A complex, fun, confusing mix of tastes that is enjoyable.

Wayward Raspberry Berliner Weisse
Strong on raspberry on the nose on the classic BW base of funky uncooked bread dough. Pink, cloudy and effervescent pour, medium head with low retention, without lacing. Tart, raspberry, proofing dough. Finish is slightly savoury, dry, no lactose! Crisp, ridiculously refreshing, light body and high carbonation. Underrated style in the land of pastry smoothies, a proper fruited Berliner Weisse as Luigi likes, perfect summer drink.
