This poured a darker brown with a beige head. Aroma was of barrel, chocolate, vanilla, and legit cookies. Flavor similar, a little sweet, but should be, I canít believe it really tastes like thereís cookies in this.

Nevinís Cookiemonster
On tap at FoBAB. Pours a dark brown black without any head. Aromas of vanilla and chocolate. Very remeniscent of an Oreo aroma or cookies and cream. Taste is sweet but not overly so. Unexpectedly enjoyable.

[Tap] Light orange pour with almost no head on top. Very low carbonation. Sweet grains and some dusty malts in the aroma. Flavors of biscuit, caramel malts, light grass and mineral notes. Lingering caramel notes leave this on the sweet side. Tasting notes from 9/2014.

Nevinís Tripel Hops Brewed
This pours a golden yellow color with a slight head. The aroma is bold with hops. The flavor is fairly bitter at 50IBUs. The flavor is a little raw and rough around the edges. Not too smooth and finishes a little chewy.

Nevinís Southside Stout
Poured as a nitro pour. Arrived to the table in a non-ideal plastic Miller light cup. Head on the beer was fantastic with a very dense, very heavy tan creamy head. Flavor was very well balanced with a modest roasted note with a terrific malty, light nutty sweetness. The body was perfect with a modest body, light dryness and great creamy feeling from the nitro pour. Overall a very nice beer. I love the simplicity and the fact itís true to the style.

Nevinís Summer Sesh
Draft on tap at the brewery (Naperville, IL). Pours pale yellow hue, fuzzy bubbly carbonation cascades through the body with brighter white head as a firm cakey layer, frothy small filmy layer sits atop and laces small. Mellow haziness, a bit dulled. Aromas are grapefruit rind, pith and florals. Touches of clean bready malts, smaller with bitter citrus rind oils, some gentle tropical fruit, earth and firmer bitterness. Light, fuzzy. Initial is lighter bodied, some soapy and floral bitterness hits the palate quickly. Smaller bready maltr bill, cleaner and light. Middle pickks up the pace on hops, citric grapefruit, touches of lemon, bit of tropical fruit, floral bitterness. Backend is dry, lighter body with some nice growing bitterness. Not potent but a pleasant presence is uplifting for this smaller, crushable brew. Touches of earth, florals, decent bitterness. Clean, decent bitterness. Kinda straddles the border between session golden and session IPA, which Iím sure the LOL crowd will get a kick out of. Solid. The hop element asserts itself a bit more in the backend and finish. Pretty solid drinker.

Nevinís Contentious IPA
Draft on tap at the brewery (Plainfield, IL). Pours a pale yellow gold hue, decent haziness with a touch of golden orange orange glow. Frothy whitish head is soapy, mellow but full layer atop stays as a pleasant film, nice lacing. Aromas are touches of florals, lemon rind and earth. A bit bready, gentle grainy sweetness. A touch of yeast and Belgian fruit elements, touches of orange, apple and fruity elements. Initial is lighter end of the fold, prickly Belgian yeast is dry, a bit spicy with mellow bready malts, bitter earth and touches of floral, gentle citrus. Mellow fruit, a bit estery with some sun tan lotion. Middle is a bit bready, dry and grainy malts meet some earthy and floral bitterness, touches of lemon, green leafy earth. Backend is grainy, a bit dry and bitter. He hop element and yeast element fall off from the front end. Lighter, a bit cereal in the backend with earthy and floral bitterness, gentle jabs of fruit. The finish is gentle fruit, touches of earth and mellow kiss of melon, citrus. Solid, light and pretty easy to put back. Not over yeasty or spicy but also a bit restrained in hop element. Still the sweetness and fruit eleements are lighter and pretty crushable. Not bad

Nice, piney happiness with a belgian malt and eatery backing. You would do well to drink this with deeply flavored dishes like lamb shanks.

Nevinís Cookiemonster
Draft on tap at Polar Beer Fest 2014 (Chicago, IL). Pours athicker luscious blackish brown hue. Good haziness, some dulled brownish glow on the edges and bottom. No real head, skant negligible loose stick around and lacing. Aromas are sweet, double stuff oreo cookies, cocoa and vanilla. Some roast, toast, and toffee. Cream, vanilla, and touch of marshmallow. Just a touch of oak, but fairly negligible as the sweeter treatment takes over. Initial is definitely in line with itís treatment, preaching Oreo cookies, cream and vanilla. Some vanilla bean, creamy sweetness shows cocoa, cookie, and biscuit. Middle is sweeter, creamy, and luscious. A lack of carbonation makes it a bit flabby and emphasizes the sweetness a bit more. Still, I donít find it sticky or messy. Just a bit unkempt perhaps. Overall, the flavors are good and it really doesnít find itís way into the sweet sticky realm youíd think. Perhaps the barrel, which stayed in the background for the most part for me through the experience, aided with this. Some fine tuning on the carbonation (likely messed up by the treatment) could make this a pretty impressive beer. Tastes good as is, hard pressed to drink more than a small glass.

Nevinís Chicago Coolaid
Draft on tap at Polar Beer Fest 2014 (Chicago, IL). Pours a well hazed amber golden hue, darker hazy middle with some decent glow as we hit the edges and bottom. Frothy offwhite head atop stays as a mellow layer, laces ok. Aromas are red wine, more fruity with some tannic elements, oak, vanillin and touches of fruity ester. Gentle spice, the yeast remains in check. Some gentle spiciness, crisp cereal and honeycrisp elements. A bit dry, the red wine barrel takes control. Initial is a touch tannic, green apple and red wine, some decent oak, vanilla and spice. Gentle warmth, red wine element comes into play firmly. The middle is a bit dry, bready with some gentle yeastiness. The red wine barrel really offers some life here, oak and tannic, red grapeskin. Some gentle bready and wheaty malts, kiss of honey, fruity esters. Finish is dry, a touch yeasty, red wine barrel lingers on. A lot better than I thought it would be. Solid stuff.

Nevinís Incepted
Draft at Nevinís. I didnít want to spend too much time on a sampler tray, so I picked a light pint. Described as a "Hoppy Wheat Ale." Cloudy, light amber color, with a half-finger head. Light citrus note more like someone already put a lemon wedge on it, then lost it. Taste has a bit of hefeweizen ester, but no banana or anything strong. Some citrusy hop too, maybe Amarillo? A rounded mouthfeel supported by tiny, dizzy hefe bubbles.
