Buffalo Commons A Sour With No Name
On tap at a Front Street Taproom, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out plenty of lacto, with some tart citrus and wheaty notes. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of lacto upfront, with some tart and astringent citrus. This isn’t a competent berliner - tart and lacking any depth. Needs work.

Buffalo Commons Never Say Never IPA
Draft at the brewery. A darker pour. This has a nice "pop" to it, but not in a west coast way, maybe the new scion of Dakota IPAs. Mellow drinker but built on a solid base and a light but assertive tingle in the finish. (#6351, 10/8/2016)

Draft at the brewery. Fairly standard visuals, as expected from the get-go. Cleanly made with little technical defect. Very little acidity but not overly malty either, just a good ol’ easy drinking American pale ale. (#6350, 10/8/2016)

Buffalo Commons Salem Sue Stout
On tap at Outlaws in Watford. Appearance: finger chocolate brown head, opaque dark brown color, ok lacing. Aroma: chocolate, roasted grain, light raisin sweetness. Palate: full body, moderate-soft carbontion, creamy-oily texture, light-moderate bitter finish. Taste: sweet chocolatey malt, into light raisin fruit sweetness, into moderate-light astringent bitterness. Overall, raisin is slight, but out of place, balance is slightly off, not anything special for style.

Tap @ Outlaws, Williston. Dark brown pour with a smallish beige head and light lacing. Nose is smoky and sweet, as is the taste. A bit of roasted malt and coffee, but the smoke is really catching my attention. There is a bit of sweetness that helps mellow out the smoke, before I knew it I had nearly finished the pint. Good stuff, glad to see it being distributed outside of Bismark/Mandan.
