Slightly hazy yellow with a pale head. Aroma is funky saison, elderflower, wildflowers. Light-medium bodied, well balanced palate with a funky floral dry finish taste is elderflower, tart saison, Brett funk.

Dark pour. Almost black. Small tan head. No lacing. Funky aroma of Brett and slight Lacto. Similar to JP. Thin taste of the same. Sweet and sour. Very tart. Very thin. Getting no juniper or spruce. More raisiny than anything. Except the JP dregs used.

Propolis Sage Blackberry: 2015 Barrel Series 3.6
750mL bottle, pours a deep dark amber brown with a small white head. Aroma is very sharp, with wood, lots of tannins, blackberry skins, and red wine notes. Flavour is very cohesive and complex, with notes of sage, blackberry skins, light vinous notes, and a slight metallic astringent. Super vinous and only lightly herbal. Very elegant and really nicely constructed.

Bottle poured and split. Finally tracked down this style, which has eluded me for years now. Waxed and corked bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with a thin fizz head. Heavy floral aroma with soft berry. Probably one of the most unique beers Iíve tried. Interesting. Fun tick.

Serving: from bottle purchased at University District Farmers Market. Aroma: moderate citrus. Appearance: very small, frothy, white, initial head with no lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Hazy, dark-yellow body. Taste: moderately sour, lemon initial flavor and finish with short duration. Palate: light body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Overall: very good

Propolis Salmon: 2015 Barrel Series 4
On tap at Brouwerís for Big Wood 2015, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of red berries (though Iím admittedly not that familiar with salmonberries), significant red wine presence and grape must. Flavour is much more dominated by the brett, with a wonderfully harmony between the berries, bretty funk and red wine barrels. Very low residual sweetness - the brett has eaten this up it seems. Complex and wonderfully constructed. Excellent.

Draft - Nice sweet and funky Berry and citrus. Clearish gold with a decent white head. Sweet, tart, funky berry, Brett and some herbal notes. Odd, but nice.

Propolis Quad-Folius: 2015 Barrel Series 3.1
Bottle at home. Pours lightly murky brown with a small, fizzy tan head, short retention with no lacing. Aroma is figs, dates, and prunes with rich bready malt, light booze, and sherry/cardboard oxidation. Flavor is lightly tart and acetic figs and prunes, light cherries, medium rich bready malt, light booze and a lightly sweet finish. Full body and light carbonation with a mild alcohol warmth.

Hazy light tan. Herbal and bretty nose is sagey, spicy and a lot of fun. Little herbal note, full brett character and a shot of herbal notes. Fun. Good body, light tartness and very much drinkable. Thanks, CapFlu!

Cloudy straw yellow gold with heavy carbonation. Nose of lemon zest, light wheat, and some tropical fruits. Fairly thin and very drinkable with a tart lemon finish and some lingering minerality.

750, capped and waxed. Pours a cloudy dark amber wifh bright golden highlights. Loose fizzy head that goes away. Bright tangy nose, smells like roses and rose hips and wet grass and a bit of lemon on the nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Tangy rose and lemon mid palate, a bit of fruity acidity. Long tangy finish.

Pours a medium, white frothy head atop a cloudy, sediment filled golden. Nose of lemon and nail polish but in a good sense. Flavour is tart upfront and so well balanced. Honey lingers in the palate. Purchased at Pilgrim's Market in Idaho.

Propolis Sahti (18/14) 3.4
Bottle. Pours hazy redddish amber, small beige head, dissipates leaving minimal lacing. Aroma is interesting, bready, caramel, ginger apparent, herbal and other spicy notes as well. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, herbal, ginger, pine/juniper, and yes, some cloves. Certainly less junipery than other Sahtiís I have had, but not bad. Medium body. Becomes a bit sour/tart after it warms.

Flavor is lightly tart cherries and plums, light toast malt, faint nutmeg and juniper with a sweet finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Bottle. Sure made it hard to get to the beer. Wax covered cap with a cork underneath. Amber in Color with a very quickly disappearing head. Aroma was kind of like a very light wine. The taste was slightly sour fruit with very light hints of the herbs in the description but not much. Not had this style much so donít know if this is a good example or not.

Propolis Granum: 2015 Field Series 3.8
750 ml corked and waxed bottle. Aroma is extreme Brett funkiness, lemon rind, earth, dusty basement, dough, seedy berry jam, honey. Pours hazy orange with a thick white foamy head with excellent retention. Taste is tart, dry, lightly sweet, earthy, herbal. Carbonation is foamy like champagne. The aroma is more promising and interesting than the taste and the carbonation is too high for me. Otherwise, itís solid.

Propolis Apricot-Ostara: 2015 Barrel Series 4
P: Murky orange color, almost amber with a thin white head. S: Juicy apricots, honey, oak, and almonds in the back. T: Apricot and yeast. Oak is there, some berries, barnyard funk and chamomile. Lightly sour with some stone fruits. M: Really thin with light carbonation. O: Tasty saison that taste a bit like a sour.

Golden amber with a fluffy white head. Aroma is bread, herbs, hint of citrus and spice, subtle touch of Brett funk. Medium-light bodied, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft and lightly fruity on the palate to start with a slightly herbal and lightly dry finish. Taste is tangerine, subtle herbs, multigrain bread, summer fruits, hint of Brett tang.

Propolis Spruce (07/14) 3.7
2015 wild series bottle. Aroma is fairly acidic with some nice lemon and orange notes. Some light tropical fruit and lighter stone fruit and pear. Spruce is light but it compliments the citrus nicely. Pours a cloudy orange with a large, slightly off white head of moderate thickness that initials recedes quickly then slows. Moderate lacing and small legs. Flavor is moderately acidic with some citrus, melon and overripe fruit. Light pineapple and cherry pie. Medium light phenolic note from the spruce with some moderate bitterness. Light alcohol notes. Some light honey character as well. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright beer but like last nightís there is a muddles overripe fruit ester character that makes this less crisp and clean than it should be. Tasty, but slightly missing the mark.

Propolis Fennel (17/14) 3.4
Poured from a bottle. Aroma is slightly acidic with a light citrus note and some tropical and cherry pie Brett notes. Medium low phenolic notes with hints of caramel malt and toasted bread. Aroma is pretty well balanced but it gets a bit vegetal as it warms. Some fruit esters also appear as it warms including banana and red apple. Pours a hazy amber color with a large, fairly thick white head that quickly recedes to a medium sized head then slowly recedes. Moderately high lacing and smallish legs. Flavor is slightly acidic with some citrus notes. Moderate fruit esters of rotting stone fruit, apples and pears. Some light cherry pie Brett notes. Medium light bitterness with some mineral notes from the water. Some medium light phenolic notes that donít exactly scream out fennel and coriander, but they are there. A light vegetable note and a bit of sweetness in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringnecy and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright beer and better in the aroma. The fruit notes and phenolics in the flavor are a bit flabby but they are fresher in the aroma. Not a bad beer, but not great either.

Thanks to grownfool for letting me sample this one! Bright bronze, no head. Seems almost still, actually. Smells like a dry red wine and balsamic vinegar. Taste is spruce, toast, oaky red wine, and a nice floral note, as well. Nicely tart, without being overbearing. Very enjoyable.

Bottle. pours clear deep amber, large creamy beige head, slow to dissipate and nice to lace. Aroma is caramel, herbal, a bit of tree sap. Flavor is light plus sweet, light bitter, herbal, no juniper per se, but a foresty feel to it. Resinous is a good word, lingering tannins in the mouth. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Quite interesting.

As í2015 Wildí. Hazy gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Light gueuzey nose. Palate is light and dry and has a fine minerally crispness. Light gueuze follows the nose. Thin lactose malt cream then a little pine. Traces of mint and citrus. A bit on the thin side but pretty drinkable.

Propolis Beltane (10/14) 3.6
Poured from a bottle. Aroma is slightly malty with some caramel and crackers. Medium notes of over ripe stone fruit and pears with a light tropical fruit and citrus note. Moderate spicy and floral notes with a bit of a peppery note. Pours a hazy, slightly pale, orange with a large, pillowy white head of moderate thickness that slowly fall into itself before a thin film lingers. Flavor is slightly sweet with a medium light acidity. Medium light citrus notes, orange and lemon. Some floral notes. Light spicy phenolics and a touch of plastic. Light cracker malt notes. Light banana with hints of stone fruit and pear. Some lingering fruit notes and light acidity with a dry finish. Medium bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer but the strong phenolic Brett notes had to blow off first as the plastic notes fade. Good fruit and floral notes.

Creamy medium body with soft carb. Nice minerals and tangy citrus on the mid palate with gentle floral notes, following into a minerally finish. Nice enough.

Part of a stellar tasting lineup at K&L Wines in Redwood City. So much funkiness on this beer. Either you get it or you donít. I think i understood the plot enough to be intrigued and want more. Deep black with brown head. So much variety on the nose.

Propolis Prunus (11/13) 3.2
Thanks to 5000 for sending me this bottle. Orange pour with a tan head. The aroma has a lot of black cherries, toffee and other dark fruit notes. The cherries and prunes are back in the flavor with some sweet toffee and caramel thrown in. The fruit is a bit overwhelming and the beer almost takes on a medicinal character. Very high, prickly carbonation and medium mouthfeel.

Bottle from Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours dark brown with a decent tan head and a toffee aroma. There is a fruity dark molasses flavor with lots of fig, clove and cherry. Very complex but some of the tastes donít work very well.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours dark copper with a bege head. Aroma of darish fruit and sweet malt/toffee nose. Clove. Med body. Flavor is dark fruit, clove, toffee. Likely dark cherry. Seems to have a wood note. Subtly complex. FDlavors need to be firmer. Cherry gets stronger in the finish.

Bottle. Murky dark brown pour, with a thin light tan head. Roasted malt, old dried fruit, raw grain, mild vanilla, licorice, sweetness, trash can, and notes of bourbon. Body is rather thick.
