Old rating from notes. This was very good. Banana, brown sugar and caramel. Sweet malt. Great beer; sadly I don't think this brewery exists any longer.

Approximately 9 oz. from a 25.4 oz. bottle, consumed on 3-5-18. Pours a hazy amber to caramel to deep gold. Effervescent. Large amount of thick but short-lasting, beige head. Sweet, caramel, fruity aroma. Vaguely to moderately Belgian smell. Sweet, caramel taste. Golden raisin flavor. Milky. Sugar. Medicinal finish, not in a bad way. Not bad at all. Lively in the palate. Full body. Nice palate effects. Good beer. Better than I was expecting. Quite cloudy in the final pour. Surprisingly authentically Belgian. Several years of age on this one probably helped. 7.4.7.4.15=>3.7

Not your typical Belgian- honey and fruit up front; a hint of sour later. I’d have it again! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750 mL bottle, consumed on 2-5-16. Pours a mostly clear, slightly hazy, pale gold with a small amount of eggshell to beige-colored head. Hazier after multiple pours. A few bubbles rise up. Looks like a macro pale lager at first, but appearance improves with the additional haziness of later pours. Yeasty cloudiness with suspended particulate in the final pour, which resembles apricot nectar. Still, I would like to see more head. Slightly sweet, tangy aroma. Scents of apple and a touch of funky, spoiled milk. Raspberry cheesecake. A nice, somewhat cheese-like smell. Refreshing in the palate. Medium body; substantial and heavy for the style. Lively and crisp. Good palate effects. Tasty but simple flavor features apple cider, pinot grigio, apricot, and a touch of lemon juice. Tart but not sour. Mineral, lightly dry finish. Reasonably enjoyable beer. That said, it’s not what I’ve come to expect from a Berliner Weiss. It is almost more cider-like in its cheesy (i.e., “like cheese”) sweetness with a hint of funk. Boring upon multiple sips but far from unpleasant. Has a farmhouse quality that a lot of American Berliner Weisses lack.

Thanks for the share, Chris. Pour on 4.12.14.Cloudy gold pour with no head. You get some tart lemon aroma and flavor come through. Some yeast in flavor, too. Not bad at all. A little thin but very drinkable.

Sampled at Northgate Andover beer tasting. This one was presented before and after a shot of raspberry syrup. I assume it is bottled without, and is very sour before the addition. Spendy for such an unknown name and low ABV.

The advertisement in the local beer magazine put this beer on my radar. I should probably have skipped right past it given the price but a new berliner weisse merits a purchase unless it is just going to rot in the cellar. If this came in cans and hit the $8.99 per four pack price point it would be a regional winner.

Aroma / Appearance - A golden carbonated base surges underneath fresh white head that billows over the top of the glass. A few minutes later scents of fresh lemons, wheat, and light tartness waft radiate upwards with a little less focus than your average example of the style.

Flavor / Palate - The overly carbonated mouthfeel acts like scrubbing bubbles as it finds its way into every nook and cranny. Lemon, yeast, and wheat quickly rush to a dry tart finish. Very delicate, it offers little after the first thirty seconds. Even so I found the bottle not that tough to finish off with a little patience. Don’t go out of your way to try it but if it comes up at a festival you could do worse.

Where the Wild Beers Are, 2014. I have seen this one the shelves many times but never wanted to pay the rather high retail price to try it. Yellow of course, surprisingly light and airy palate. Minimal sourness. Not very sour but it is refreshing.

Poured a cloudy light yellow color with aromas of light tart wheat, some lemon, and light lacto. Flavors are light tart wheat, some lemon and lacto. This was a nice berliner to start the day with. Could drink a ton of this.

Bottled sample via and shared with oakbluff. Pale gold in colour with spritzy carbonation. Aromas are of lemon-lime soda, salt, and white pepper. Citric upfront in the mouth, with salt and lime pith on the back end. Light bodied and refreshing. Not overly complex, but refreshing as hell. Enjoyable.

Smells like lime yogurt and Clorox. Tastes ok, heavy on the fake lime flavor, but totally forgettable.

Bottle... Pours cloudy and yellow with a small, fizzy, white head that’s gone in the blink of an eye. The aromatics are citrusy, yeasty and lemony. Light-bodied with dancing carbonation. The flavor is lemony, but not sour - only mild acidity here. Refreshing, crisp, tangy finish. Cleanly-brewed. Bottle courtesy of Bvery!

750 ml corked and caged bottle purchased at France 44 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The pour is a hazed yellow golden with a foamy 1/2 inch head. The aroma is lemongrass and fresh tartness. The taste is citric lemon, grass and hay, wheat grain and a soft tangy tangerine finish. The palate is light bodied prickly carbonation with a tangy citrus finish. Clean and tasty Berliner.

750 ml bottle thanks to Skyview. Hazy gold without any head. Nose is tart lemon and lactobacillus.hints of barnyard.

Flavor is extremely refreshing. Light body and light carbonation. The light tart lemon with hints of yeast starts up front. Pear skins, some grain in the body and tart lacto in the finish.

Overall my favorite of the three brews from this brewer. Thanks for the chance Bob. Very nice and highly drinkable.

Trade with Skyview. Dark mahogany color with thin white head with Light retention. Aroma of burnt sugar, light clove and light medicinal nuance.

The flavor has that medicinal note with earthy German malts. It has a burnt sugary texture over the tongue. The clove was there a bit without any yeast that I was hoping for. The yeast was overpowered by malt and burnt sugar. Honestly not bad but not something I would not want to revisit. Still drinkable if you like real earthy malt and sugar. Meh.

Trade with Skyview. Lightly hazy amber/ gold, light head that faded quickly. Aroma has a light sour mass grain. Hints of honey and flowers.

The flavor starts with honey sweetness followed by lightly sour fruit. Kind of a odd flower chamomile earthy hint. Apple cider vinegar phenols. Tart tanginess that has a light linger effect. Overall interesting with a good amount of drinkability.

(bottle) Since weizenbock is one of my favorite styles, I’ve been wanting to try this for quite awhile. Not sure if this is the case with other bottles, but the cork on the bottle I picked up was extremely difficult to extract and I had to employ not one, but two corkscrews in order to remove it. Frustration aside, the beer pours out a clear ruby, chestnut brown with a large tan head that quickly settles to a thin cap. Aroma is pretty nice, but not top tier, as I think it leans too heavily upon the roasted malt and not enough on the yeast. Getting way more toast and chocolate scents than banana or clove. There’s also an underlying eggy component which seems like sulfur. It’s not too strong, but lets you know it’s there. Smells like asafoetida actually, but it gets better as it warms. With further warming, some bubblegum emerges. Really gets quite nice. Flavor holds a good amount of toffee (quite a bit actually, and well done) with lingering flavors of roast and light plum that’s quickly snapped dry by some crisp, chalky wheat. No sign of the 8%. Mouthfeel is damn near perfect and carb is spot on. They really nailed the mouthfeel here. Overall this beer is a tweak or two away from being really, really good. As is, it’s a solid weizenbock and one of the better local examples I’ve tried. The high price is a tough ask though, so this will be a one-time purchase. If they put this in a 6-pack or even a 4-pack at the current price, I’d definitely buy it again. Overall not bad, but needs a couple changes.

750 ml bottle. Pours a pale unclear gold yellow with a soapy white head that settles to a thin film. Aroma is lightly tart lemon citrus wheat and grassy. Taste is soft lightly tart with some lemon malt and subtle spice and yeast. Palate is thin fizzy and drying. Pretty nice, and very drinkable! I like, but little expensive.

I’m not typically a fan of Belgian Ales, but this one definitely opened my eyes. With a unique taste that is unassuming to the eye and nose, I would recommend this beer if you are looking to get away from the norm and try something with a little more flavor.

750mL bottle pours a slightly hazy bright yellow with a medium white head. Mellow sweet aroma, pretty dry, some lemon, with light lacto. A crisp tart lemon taste all the way through, with sour green apples and some earthy light grains. A very nice Berliner!

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazed straw yellow color with a fluffy white head. Nice aroma of slight lemon but also has a sweet smell like carmel that throws me a little. Light mouthfeel. Melon, pineapple, green apple, and lemon zest. Maybe a light biscuti note as well. Overall pretty tasty but a touch sweeter than some other Berliners than I have had before.

750 ml bottle at Mad Capper, Stillwater. A rare Berliner Weiss sighting! My first Berliner Weiss (Schultheiss) was about 10 yrs ago in Berlin. I hated it. Although I know I’ve had considerable palate development since then, this is very drinkable on its own (unlike the Schultheiss). Afraid to even try the raspberry & blueberry syrup we were given. Quite good and sure to please sourheads. A gal from Alaska we’re with also really liked. Well done.

750ml bottle at Mad Capper in Stillwater. Nice, murky orange body with an off white head. Some lace. Saison aroma. Nice, funky flavor with Belgian characteristics. Although the commercial description on the label suggests this beer is best enjoyed in cold weather, I’m rather enjoying it on a super hot 4th of July day in Stillwater. Attractive packaging and looking forward to trying the Berliner Weiss!
