2.5 Barnstar Chocolate Porter Draft sample at the brewery. This looks the part, dark and brooding. Unfortunately it's a bit thinner than I'd like. It has a mellow chocolate groove, basic but down the center line. (#6919, 1/2018) Sunday, January 28, 2018

2.6 Barnstar Lucy Rich's Winter Zest IPA Draft sample at the brewery. Musty, yellow color, fully opaque. Over-the-top grapefruit zest character. Acidic, nearly to a fault. Puckering. As advertised, I suppose. Fruit salad, heavy in the grapefruit! (#6918, 1/2018) Sunday, January 28, 2018

1.8 Barnstar Citra Pale Ale Draft sample at the brewery. Standard visuals for the average American pale ale. There is a bit of a citrus tingle, and another bit of soapy edge. Mild homebrew quality. Thin body. (#6917, 1/2018) Sunday, January 28, 2018

1.5 Barnstar Law Dawg Pale Ale Draft sample at the brewery. Hazy yellow-orange with a little bit of froth. Drinks with a big, wheaty character. Super sweet and a bit soapy. Meh. (#6916, 1/2018) Sunday, January 28, 2018

3.7 Barnstar Outlaw Stout Another of the samples I tasted at Barnstar Brewery. This one was #1 on my list. A very nice well balanced stout. I bought a growler of this and poured myself a pint last night. This one is high on my list. Monday, April 6, 2015

3.5 Barnstar Saloon Girl Red We did a tasting of 6 of their beers at the brewery. Saloon Girl Red amber ale came in at #2 on my list. Great appearance and very well balanced. The finish was a little dry for me. Monday, April 6, 2015

2.2 Barnstar Saloon Girl Red Pint on tap. Pours a medium brown color, with good lacing and a small rocky head, translucent. Strong taste, some burnt notes and a bit of alcohol, and very bitter, but without hop freshness to back it up, it feels unfinished. Also a bit fizzy on the palate. It doesn’t posses really any bready malty characteristics either, I wasn’t impressed. Not quite a drain pour, but I’d pass if I were you. Sunday, September 1, 2013
