2.2 Celtic Knot Project Maple Pours a dark brown, almost black with dark tan head. Aromas of chocolate and nuts. Off flavors, almost sour - maybe a bad batch? Still, roasted malt flavours do come through with a hint of sweetness. Saturday, January 13, 2024

5 Celtic Knot Dark Passage Last month we motored to Fundy Park and Alma. After a few hikes we ate at Tispy Tails and sampled the tap beers. I like dark beers and was extremely pleased with Celtic Knots Dark Passage oatmeal stout! My reaction to the tap brew had my husband ordering his own as I was not sharing! Kudos to Celtic Knot on my now fav micro brew. I just wish we liked in Riverview. Wednesday, July 8, 2020

3 Celtic Knot Toque and Mitts 500ml bottle. Pours a gorgeous mahogany with lingering off-white head. Nose is smokey, with some stonefruit. Flavour was sickly-sweet, more akin to cough medicine. Alcohol certainly noticeable, more of a burn than a warming feeling. Worth a shot, but probably not one I'll revisit if given the opportunity. Friday, February 2, 2018

3.3 Celtic Knot Dubh Loki 500ml bottle. Flavors of dark roasted grains, toffee, faint chocolate, soft coffee, nutmeg, herbal spices. Highly sugary, with bitter red ale spices. Slick and slightly oily medium body with bland carbonation. Medium strength finish, deeply malty and spicy, with burnt sugars and sharp hops. A bit thin and flat. Okay taste, lacks balance in the flavors, not really pleasing. Coarse wet grains feel. 4 Celtic Knot Hopicide Draft @ the Tide & Boar. Medium amber colour, unfiltered, moderate white head, lots of lacing. Grapefruit and floral aromas. Taste is sweet grapefruit, some floral and sugar. Medium to thick body. Overall, might not satisfy purist hop-heads, but I rather like it. Reminded me of Mad Tom or Rock Bottom’s IPA. Monday, October 21, 2013

3.6 Celtic Knot Dubh Loki Draft at Marky’s Laundromat. Very dark, nearly pitch black, no light penetration, medium off-white head, lots of lacing. Aroma was coffee and a little chocolate. Taste was bitter, but the hops and the malt blended to a coffee bitterness rather than any distinct hop flavour. Slight citrus twang. Thinner body than ideal. Overall, drank like a cold coffee beverage as much as a beer, but being served in a coffee shop may have biased me. Sunday, October 20, 2013
