Side Project Grisette
Sampled at the RateBeer Best Festival 2016. Pouts clear yellow with a creamy, white head. The aroma holds dry wheat, lemon rind. Light sweet flavour with further wheat character, biscuits, straw, lemony accents. Light bodied with average carbonation. Clean on the finish, with touches of bitter straw, citrus fruits, some hay, pale grain, wheat flakes. Lovely stuff. Very well balanced.

Side Project Pulling Nails Blend #3
From notes. Enjoyed at Dougís house for the Epic Peach and Apricot debacle of a tasting that happened on July 9. 750 mL bottle. Blend #3. The pour is a pale straw yellow color with a little haziness and a thicker white head that falls down slowly. There is a nice apricot up front, backed up with tropical fruits, citrus, a nice oak, and a light herbal spice and grain. There is quite a blend here that balances and compliments itself well. The flavor is much of the same. There is a nice tart fruitiness and a light spiciness that works with the other light fruit inputs. This is a very balanced beer that I wasnít sure what to expect when opened. The mouth feel is lighter and crisp with a softer carbonation and a lingeringly spicy, yet sour apricot on the finish. This is a solid brew.

From notes. Enjoyed at Dougís house for the Epic Peach and Apricot debacle of a tasting that happened on July 9. 375 mL bottle. Blend #2. The pour is a hazy golden yellow with a thinner white head and some decent lace. The aroma is really interesting. There is a lot of peach and sour funkiness to it. At the same time, there is a lot of oak and a light grassiness on the back end. This is good, but I was hoping for a lot more. The flavor is a little better. There is a ton of peach. Light, tart, and sour peach with a decent barnyard funkiness to it and a dusty hay thing happening on the finish. The mouth feel is light and crisp with an effervescent carbonation and a lingeringly sour, peachy, sharp aftertaste. I was hoping for something a little more intense on the fruit side, but this is a very well balanced sour.

Side Project Framboise du Fermier
bottle shared at our tasting. split 4-ways. poured a bright red to pink colour with a light pink coloured head on top. the nose explodes in a split second with sweet raspberry tartness, just tons of fruited raspberries, still so fresh, this is on a complete different level compared to the abricot version, so much cleaner, and not as tart sour as side project brews can get. still lotís of clean funk on the back of the nose, tart apples, some citrus, clean oak, not getting to vinous, sweet raspberry yoghurt, light grains, and funky yeast. the flavor has even more sweet raspberries upfront, incredible balance of sweet and sour notes. slight horseblanket funk. an aboslute incredible side project brew, and maybe the best one cory has ever made. this is so balanced without getting to sour.

750ml batch 1. Hazy yellow with a finger of white head. Aroma is sour lemon candy, slightly oaky Chardonnay, very slight funk and brett. Taste is a nice bright lemon sour. Balanced and easy to drink. Side Project Merci Blend #2
Bottle at the Side Project Cellar. Pours a cloudy gold color with a finger of fizzy white head that settles into an uneven film and leaves spots of lace in the glass. Aroma of cheesy funk, oak, dusty grains, straw, apricot, sourdough, and earth. Flavor of lemon, white peach, apricot, white grape skins, oak, sourdough - shows more tartness than the aroma. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a dry, tart, lightly funky mouthfeel. Really nice and satisfying.

375 ml bottle via trade with dbsdelight - thanks again, Dan! Pours a cloudy reddish amber with a small khaki head that settles into a ring and some islands of film. Notes of cherries, vanilla, oak, lemon, spice, faint chocolate and caramel malts, currants, and grapes. Light-medium bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation and a tart, tangy, earthy, sweet, and lightly acidic mouthfeel. Another outstanding fruited wild ale from Side Project - which means it meets expectations.

750ml split 3 ways at the SP cellar. Probably not the best to drink a 15% stout after standing in the 100 degree sun for 5 hours at a beer release, but when else am I going to get to try this one. Pour is very dark, brownish black. No head. A few single bubbles, thatís it. Aroma is very rich, very sweet. Chocolate moose, fudge, oak, dark grapes, dark cherries. Taste is port forward. Mouthfeel is super thick, silky, very lightly carbonated. Almost still, low carb works really well with how thick and chewy it is. It is very good but a bit of a letdown at the same time, probably my least favorite of the candle/derivation series.
