Side Project Two Candles
Draft at Hunahpu Day 2016. Pours a thick, sticky, still black. A ton of vanilla in the nose and flavor, modest booze from the barrel, but is always complimentary with a light woody note, but the vanilla dominates. A ton of fudge in the flavor. Wowe. Just a ton of stickiness and thick luscious chocolate but is never cloying. A great stout.

bottle shared with a friend, poured a hazy deep dark golden to light orange colour with a white head. light barnyard funk in the nose, strong wooden oak notes, dry yeast, big pineapple notes, white wine notes, grapes, sweeter vineous notes, banana, lemon, and light acid fruits notes. for a side project sour this is very complex and sweet, is not those jawbreaking sours they normally have, to be honest, it’s more drinking as a farmhouse saison instead of a sour. bright minerals, lovely brew, not as good as tete we had after this one, but amazingly refreshing

Bottle shared at A Day To Sink All Sea Shepards tasting. Full lineup of 1-6 + DB. Black with no head. Aroma of alcohol upfront, really boozy, caramel, chocolate, sweet malt and molasses behind. Flavour is heavy sweet. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Maybe just too fresh but there was just too much noticeable alcohol coming out in this one. [17-09-2016]

Surprisingly refreshing.

750 ml bottle from the Cellar. Batch #1 that I’ve been sitting on for too long, finally opened with a group here in Cincy. Pours a hazy pale gold with a massive white head - gusher, actually. Really light and balanced, with bready malts, cobwebs, barnyard funk, straw, and light fruitiness of white grapes and stone fruits. Light-bodied, with high carbonation that fizzles down over time. Bone dry and refreshing. Crushable stuff. Will have to try the newer blends to see the difference when it’s fresher.
