A good sour but it’s got a hint of weirdness about it and I think it’s something with the brett strain (I assume theres some brett going on).

Basic motherfuckers will probably be intimidated by this tick’s complexity but it’s fruity and sweet enough that their palates will probably be satiated. Also who the fuck collaborates with themselves.

Light gushing to deep red, hazy beer under a pink rim. Deep cherry and other red fruit, faintly vinous, old wine, acids. Very acidic, acidoverload. Fruity, red fruit but not expressly red grapes. Lipsmacking acidity, fruit-filled and slick. Quite sharp. A tad too sharp, even. Thanks to M & L V!

Bottle. Pour is cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is musty, funky, tart, Grape, and Light wood. Flavor is tart on the tip of my tongue for a second or two. That gives way to light funk and faint musty grape. More tart than expected. Aroma more complex than flavor but both excellent.

Bottle pour at FoFA. Hazy purple with a small white head, low retention, leaving little lacing. Aroma is of blueberries flesh, some funk, cheesy notes, mild oak spiciness and mineral notes. Taste is moderately acidic with blueberry flesh (loads of), lactic notes, oak, oak spiciness, winey notes and lemon. Medium-light body. Medium carbonation. Winey mouthfeel. Acidic but not puckering finish with lemon and blueberry flesh. Very good blueberry sour with a nice balance between fruits and acidity. Not the most complex one but the winey presence definitely add a fun character.

Bottle shared with John at the Cellar - good to see you man! pour is opaque black with minimal head. Aroma is intense and delightful - loads of vanilla, cocnut, chocolate, fudge, and rich malt. excellent. flavor is big cocnut and vanilla up front which transitions to a light woody note along with fudge and light cinnamon. The cinnamon is light but seems to wrap the finish up nicely. it lingers a bit and helps prevent the beer from being overwhelming. This is really nice.

Blend #2. Simcoe and Amarillo hops. Thick glowering dark golden color. Can’t see through it. I was very happy to get a very bretty beer that also was hoppy and works in the aromas how I like. Citrus sweet hops over a thick herbal brett blanket of funk. Flavor is lighter with a sweet candy brett and a bitter herbal brett finish. Just a delight.

Blend #4. A very pale color, looks like hazy cider. Light lacing. Aroma is tart light lemon tarts, a little citrus juice and the faintest brett at the end of the aroma. Flavor is very much just lacto tart water. Leaves me wanting more actual beer despite liking the wild beer. Light and spiky mouthfeel.

Shared at an Ann Arbor get together at Jeff’s on July 20. 750 mL bottle. The pour is a cloudy bright golden yellow with a thick white head that lingers as a dense cap. The aroma is full of funk. There is a nice barnyard dustiness to it and a light spiciness. The lemongrass and wheatiness really shines through. The flavor is just as good. Lots of spice and funk. A musty barnyard leads into a great dried citrus zest and carry out to a nice hay controlled finish. The mouth feel is light and crisp with a bright carbonation and a lingeringly wheaty, funky, spicy aftertaste. This is a lot better than I thought it would be going in.

Shared at an Ann Arbor get together at Jeff’s on July 20. 750 mL bottle, blend 1. The pour is a bright ruby/purple color with a thick dark pink head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is fantastic. There is a great tart blueberry skin and a bright flesh. A light lemon sourness is present and a hint of oak to it. This is tart and crisp and lovely. The flavor is great. There is a light funk and a ton of blueberry skins and flesh. It’s tart and juicy with a resounding sourness. This is one of the best blueberry sours I’ve ever had… Maybe the best. The mouth feel is light and crisp with a bright carbonation and a lingeringly sour blueberry skin that lingers forever. This is a spectacular beer.

Kiwis and French melons, oh my. 375mL capped bottle at cellar. Hazy pale gold color. Aroma is full of these cool tart tropical fruit aromas. It’s a acidic, not acetic, and not bretty. Acidic berries with melon and maybe kiwi. Though the flavor is overly acidic and not as fun as the aroma. I prefer a softer sour with more brett.

375 ml bottle to stemmed wine glass at SPC. Rating #8000. Looks good; a fairly transparent gold with white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells good too; mildly tart and semi-sweet with a nice balance of funk, oak, and fruit. Tastes like it smells with a softly acidic and pleasantly tart medium-bodied mouthfeel that finishes on the drier side. Discernible melon on the tongue as well. Tasty.

750ml. Huge thanks to Matt for sharing. Color is a bit of a dingy yellow. Aroma is familiar Side Project, lemon, sweet candy sour. This beer is a masterpiece, I would love to drink this every day.

750 ml bottle. Pours a lightly cloudy marigold color with a finger of white head that lasts, smaller and rising on the sides to form a thicker ring than film. The aroma is very much like the standard Saison du Fermier, bright and lightly funky and tart, with lemon, stone fruit, bready malts, straw, white grapes, barnyard, and oak. The flavor here has more depth than the original, though, with a significant stone fruit character - to the degree that my wife asked, "This is the peach version, right?" Loads of peach and apricot stone fruit-like character, with grapes, sweet and bready malts, straw, bretty funk, lactic twinge, melon, and lemon. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a lightly tart, fruity, funky, and almost juicy mouthfeel in beautiful balance and harmony. And that’s what really puts this one over the top; it’s gorgeous on the palate. It’s hard not to drink a glass in like two minutes, it’s just that nice. This one’s a stunner.
