Chapman's Enlighten
Clear lovely golden with a thin foamy white head. Nose is pretty biscuity and estery. Smooth crisp flavor that’s a bit bready and crackery pale with biscuity lager undertones with ale yeast fruitiness

Pours black with a small tan head. The aroma is mainly roasted malt and chocolate. The flavor is of dark roast malt, chocolate, coffee, and oats. It's on the sweet side. Full bodied. It's very good, hitting the usual notes for this bold style, without being truly outstanding.

Chapman's Englishman Southern Brown Ale
On tap a still clear dark tan brown color. No head. Smells of nice malted grains and caramel, not burnt, just light. It's light tasting and refreshing, not too heavy, quite refreshing. Decent for a summer day.

Can drunk 7.29.18.
Dark gold to copper. Small white head showing low retention. Clear.
Horrifically oxidized in both aroma and flavor. Normally I'd skip reviewing in this situation, but this can was both bought from the fridge and is undated, so I feel pretty swindled as a customer.

Rated on 7-19-2018 at Chapman's Southwest, Fort Wayne, IN. The appearance of this draft beer is a very small tan head that mostly diminished, semi-opaque reddish-brown body, no lacing observed, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is malt, toffee and caramel. The flavor is lightly bitter, malt, caramel, and lightly sweet. The mouthfeel is soft carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. For the style, this beer is anything but hoppy and bitter tasting. It is easy drinking for the style and the ABV is well hidden. It is has a light bitter aftertaste. It is a beer that I would consider drinking again even though it is not close to its style.

Rated on 7-19-2018 at Chapman's Southwest in Fort Wayne, IN. The appearance of this draft beer is a small ivory head that is mostly lasting, transparent golden yellow body, no carbonation observed, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is malt as is the flavor. The mouthfeel is smooth and clean. This beer is light-medium bodied. This beer is very easy drinking, but there is not much to write about it overall as it lacks a decent amount of aroma and flavor.

Rated on 9-26-2017. The appearance of this draft beer when served is a very small tan head that is fully lasting, hazy orangish brown body and spotty lacing. The aroma is moderately spicy and malt. The flavor is lightly bitter, moderately spicy and malt. The mouthfeel is thick and this beer is medium bodied. An ok beer as I do not really care for its taste. It is a beer that I would not order again.

Chapman's Oktoberfest
This draft brew from a beer bar was served at room temperature and poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a uncarbonated body slightly hazy light brown colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was malty roasted malt chocolate and mild hop. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a mellow hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of cocoa maple brown malt and hops. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

Chapman's Valiant
On tap at Chapman’s Taproom in Fort Wayne. Dark brown and opaque beer with tan head. Aroma is chocolate and bready malt. Flavor opens with a dry, nutty, chocolaty malt character balanced by just enough hop bitterness. Relatively dry beer, but the balance tilts toward the malt with a nicely complex chocolate maltiness. Not too viscous, but lightly roasty and creamy. Has a very English character to it. Very nice beer.

A hazy pale amber beer with a lasting white head. Tropical, mango and caramel malty aromas. Strong citric (grapefruit) and tropical (mango, juicy fruit) flavor along with sweet caramel followed by an intense piney/pithy/grapefruit hop bitterness that lingers through the finish. Bitterness increases the perception of mouthfeel, but not in a pleasant way. The caramel and grapefruit bitterness clashes too much with the tropical flavors for me. Not bad, but not one I’d have again.

Chapman's Englishman Southern Brown Ale
On tap at Chapman’s Taproom in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Opaque dark brown with a lasting off-white head. Smells of nuts and cocoa nibs. Taste leads with a light nutty/chocolaty/caramel character that is relatively dry. Hop bitterness doesn’t stand out, let’s the malt take the lead. Creamy and drinkable. Very nice beer.

Golden, clear, with a lasting white head. Aroma is a bit cidery with faint crackery malt. Taste is really nice - just the right amount of bready malt layered onto a light crackery honey esters. Bitterness is in the background, definitely balanced toward the maltiness. Very quaffable. Better than I expected.

Chapman's Wry American
tap at Fortezza’s, the placemat showed it as Red Ryeding Hood, the chalk board listed it as Wry American. The bartender says the name was changed to Wry American shortly before they released it. Still trying to figure out if it’s the same beer with a different name or a different beer. - Pours lightly hazy amber and smells mainly of rye and malt. The flavor is caramel malt and rye and is quite sweet. There’s a fair amount of hops hiding under all that malt and it comes through more in the finish. It strikes me as a bit medicinal though and like the other Chapman’s beers in my flight, the sweetness is cloying, though not nearly as much so as the Monstre.

tap - Pours near black with a lingering tan head that laces heavily. The aroma is of roast malt and coffee. It tastes of dark roast malt and more coffee, has a medium to full body, and the dark roast flavor lingers pleasantly. It’s a well balanced, enjoyable stout.

tap - Pours hazy gold with a big white head. It smells of malt and spicy yeast. The flavor is super-sweet, practically a sugar-bomb. There’s some Belgian yeast character but to me any complexity that might be there is overwhelmed by the cloying sweetness. Medium body and a little boozy, it’s drinkable but is seriously lacking in balance.
