Good but very light fruity smell, taste is interesting... it's a sour...but if it was made from a brown ale... different...and even pretty peppery! Hmm very interesting...extra credit for uniqueness...had at Liberty for lunch after a nice steak before my birthday in a few days 😀, pandemic ending US covid deaths about 604,000...

The Unknown Bright Ass Tank Top
473ml can. Minimally milky, orange golden colour with small to average, frothy, fading white head. Tangy, wheaty malty and slightly fruity aroma, notes of lime and salt. Taste is tart, tangy, fruity and slightly wheaty malty, notes of lime, salt, a touch of sour malt, a very subtle touch of rum. Watery texture, slightly astringent palate, medium, scattered, prickly carbonation. Fairly refreshing, a tad simple and monotonous - OK.

The Unknown Over The Edge IPA
Crisp and ever so slightly hazy golden coloured body with a nice, rich three to four centimetre tall tan head that covers the beer nicely! Aroma of grass, very piney and resinous hops that show a PNW slant along with a nice alpha acid bitterness and a good deal of floral notes towards the end, with a nice balance of malts as well and a tiny bit of sweetness noticeable in the nose - perhaps from honey? Medium-bodied; Very hop-forward, grassy and herbal flavours show way up front with a lot of bitterness, but a good deal of malts coupled with the hops for a good balance and a rich quality, especially at the end. Aftertaste is very hoppy with a nice bitterness, a good herbal and piney bite along with the sweetness that comes out at the very end that brings a touch of flowers too - very nice throughout and especially at the end. Overall, a well-balanced, fairly West Coastie IPA with a lot of old school bitterness and qualities with a good balance, not much sweetness and a robust quality throughout. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint pour on draught at Mason Social [restaurant] in [old town] Alexandria, Virginia on 05-March-2022 for my Wife's Birthday in interruption of my month-without-alcohol, Happy Birthday Amanda, with all my kids as well for US$7,00. 8,4,8,3,15

The Unknown Bright Ass Tank Top
Pours a hazy golden orange from the can with bubbly white foam that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of nice sweet and tart lime with a touch of lactic acid and sweet barrel notes. Taste follows, sweet fruit and wheat, a touch of vanillins, and a nice tart back end that rounds it out. Could use more of the rum, but solid.

The Unknown Side Hustle
Pours a mostly clear pale yellow from the can with thin wispy white foam but solid bubbly carbonation that pricks the tongue throughout. Aroma of cracker and biscuit pilsner malt with a touch of grassy and herbal hops behind. Taste follows, sweet from the malt, decent bitterness from the hops, dry quick finish, bubbly effervescence. It's OK, but want more hop aroma from a dry hopped beer, maybe just call it an American pilsner next time.

Undated can A: Thickly murky dark dull orange pour with 1/4" of beige foam. Good retention and thick lace. S: Malty caramel and toffee scent with no discernible hop notes. Maybe a hint of orange. A chemical note. Acetone. T: OK so there's some hops here in the form of bitter citrus pith. Orange, grapefruit and lemon-lime notes present alongside a malty wall of toasted bread. Moderate sweetness provides some balance. M: Thick texture, average carbonation and a fairly dry finish. O: Looks unappealing, smells old and stale but tastes fairly decent. Unknown has finally started dating their sixpack carriers but still not the cans. Baby steps but still unacceptable.

2 month old pint can A: Poured very little head atop a clear rusty orange body. Nice color. S: Herbal hops, wood and dried leaves. T: Malt sweetness noticed first, quickly joined by piney and tart citrus and stone fruit (cherry?) hops. Bitter aftertaste. Very nice balance. M: Low to average carbonation level, medium body and a clean finish. O: Surprisingly good. I find many marzens too sweet but this is very tasty and beautifully balanced.

Pours clear, bubbly topaz with a thick though not long-lasting ivory head. Aroma presents tart pomme and fresh malt with a tropical hint. Flavor gives up tart and sour pomme and tropical fruit, fresh malt, a little woody hops and a floral hint. Texture offers OK body and fair fizz. Nothing tragic about it.

Draft at The Lodge HH Island from recent notes. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, dark chocolate, cherries, bourbon, oak, some roasted bitterness to the finish, bourbon works pretty well with the base beer, nice under the radar beer.

Pours slightly hazy topaz with a thick and frothy ivory head. Aroma yields resiny hops, fresh malt, subtle woody tones - and something else. Another grain? Flavor provides citrus - definitely orange - plus resiny hops, fresh malt and woody notes for a very drinkable ale. IPA or not an IPA, who give a drat. Texture offers firm, smooth body and peppy fizz. Get to know it on the edge.
