Old rating from 2014 - Pint from the cask, pours amber with a white head. Aromas & tastes of citrus, grapefruit, toffee, herbs, pine, alcohol & malt. Medium body. Dry finish. A English Strong Ale rather than IPA, enjoyable nevertheless

Killer Cat Circus IPA
Cask handpump at the Shoulder of Mutton, Wednesday 25th February 2015 Getting towards the end of the cask but I was told to try this as it had been so popular in the pub and despite a no doubt cloudier than normal appearance which I’ll not mark it down for because close to the end of cask, this was great. Lovely and still tasting fresh, it’s zippy with a flurry of sweet citrus orangey hops, lovely bitterness, really good beer, I can see why this was so popular, loved it. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov16 3.6

Dark orange and cloudy - small white head and some lacing. Fruity aroma - quite restrained - my bottle came from a mail order company and maybe is not that fresh. Tastes good though - mostly grapefruit sitting above the malt, and a strong bitter finish.

330ml bottle from Stirchley Wines. Pours clear amber with big over-frothy white head. Taste presents initial fruity hops before a sharp smokey chili kick on the finish. Is that the intention? Not sure. S’ok tho.

Light haze on this deepish gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation, Airy creamy sweet malts. My third beer under the Killer Cat banner and already the smoke is a characteristic in these murdering pussy beers! Little dried fruits and mild bruised orange before a light semi dry finish. Needs more hop punch and less of the bleeding smoke!

Hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, mild fine carbonation. Dry malts, sweetish. A strident but not totally dominant smoke streak. Touches of tangerine and marmalade. Crystallised fruits and a mild hop spice before a dry finish. Smoke and bitterness lingers on. Another curious brew from these guys, but decent.

Bright clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry. Decent fine carbonation. Mild minerals. Light pale malts, some lactose sweetness. Hops bring a mild marmalade streak and bigger bitterness. Running string and wide throughout is a smoke flavour, presumably from the malts. Finishes light and dry. Any subtleties from the experimental hops are masked by the smoke! Sigh! Misjudged but okay.

first thing i noticed it that it has very little smell from the bottle, this dose improve when pored in to a glass. the color of this brew is a strange one, very orange ( a bit like iron bru ) taste is where it all goes down hill, all i can taste is burnt orange and toffee or caramel notes. would not recommend this tbh, only reason for having it was since beer 42 sent me it

Cask @ Trades Club, Hebden Bridge. Mid-yellow with a creamy head. There’s hop in the nose and a soured English fruitiness in its taste, although this is in part due to the noticeable strength of the ale.
