MarcoDL	4.2 De Pelgrim Armada Amrut Barrel Aged Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of dark chocolate, licorice, bitter hops, roasted malt, burned caramel and whisky. Taste has creamy dark chocolate, wax, vanilla, caramel, roasted malt, licorice, bitter hops, whisky, ripe fruit and a long finish. madmitch76	3.6 Pelgrim Armada 21st December 2022 Beer opens with a vigorous phhht and pours opaque black brown and throws a big tan head. Airy palate, mildly dry, good fine carbonation. Fluffy dark malts, a decent amount of dark malt cream and a pleasant blend of fairly sweet chocolate and coffee. Touch of dark fruits. Some biscuity sweetness in the light smooth finish. Gangstergafje	3.3 Pelgrim Langmore 27-05-2022; draught; at Stadsbrouwerij De Pelgrim. The beer has a pale yellow colour with a whitish glow. It is very cloudy. On top of the beer some white foam is formed, with medium foam retention. Very limited lacing and some drape are left. The malts give some grainy and caramel aromas. The hops give citrus, some passion fruit and some mango. The yeast gives a barnyard aroma, with some wild yeast aromas. A bit unbalanced. The taste of the beer is fine. Sweet malts, bitter hops and some sour yeast. The acidity is a bit rough and a bit out of place. A tiny bit unbalanced. The mouthfeel of the beer is fine. Medium body, a bit rough texture and medium carbonation. The finish gives some citrus and stone fruit and some of that sour yeast. All in all, a fine beer. Saturday, August 13, 2022
ReuvenSmienk	3.2 Pelgrim Stoombier mistig lichtgeel bier met een witte schuimkraag van fijne structuur. Geur heeft iets licht rokerigs naast de zoetige geur van de mout. Taste has smooth savory peat, iodine, chocolate, caramel, smoke, oak, vanilla, little molasses, smooth roasted malt, umami seaweed, licorice and creamy coffee. corkyrory66	2.8 Pelgrim Mayflower Tripel Triple de 7,2 % abv, ce qui est un peu court en théorie .. Mon exemplaire avait environ deux ans. Couleur doré aux reflets ambré, clarté nette. Mousse peu formée, stable à 2 mm. Arômes de malt clair, fruits blancs, raisin, pointe d'agrumes. 1ère bouche agréable, mais sans réelle ampleur Arrière-bouche qui fait passer un côté malt grillé 2ème bouche avec une pointe de miel et de vanille Arrière-bouche plus longue que la 1ère Longueur qui essaie de passer à la vitesse supérieure, mais elle est limitée par la puissance du moteur .. 7,2 chevaux ! Jambes collantes Levure correcte Alcool insuffisant, comme on l'a vu et comme il a montré sur la longueur Finale agréable, sans plus. CONCLUSION : davantage une strong pale qu'une triple, mais il est vrai que sur le Mayflower, on avait tendance à s'emporter pour un rien .. Gangstergafje	5 Pelgrim Armada Springbank ex Rum BA 10-04-2020; bottle; at home (bought at Brouwerij de Pelgrim, Rotterdam, The Netherlands). The looks of the beer are good, great even. The beer has a very dark brown color, approaching black. On top of the beer a nice layer of brown foam is formed. Foam retention is average. A nice and thick drape is left on the beer. The beer is to dark to say nothing about the clarity. All in all, looks delicious. The aroma of the beer is very nice. It is very intense. The malts give nice aromas of chocolate and toffee, with some caramel and coffee. The typical Stout aromas. Furthermore, there is a lovely roast and toast aroma. Hops give some nice herbal and earthy notes, with a leafy touch. All of these already lovely Stout aromas are truly enhanced by the barel aging. This gives some truly tremendous aromas to the beer. There are nice aromas of oak wood. This gives some nice vanilla noted and some extra burn. The whiskey casks give the beer delicious aromas of iodine, salty sea air. Delicious. Amazing aromatic beer. The taste of the beer is very nice too. The malts give some nice sweetness to the beer. Hops are bitter, so is the roast. The roast and toast also give the beer some nice savory notes. The oak and cask gives also some nice slightly sour cask flora notes. The result is a lovely balanced beer, with sweetness, bitterness, sourness and savoriness all in perfect balance. Amazing. The palate of the beer is very nice. Amazing. Full body, insanely rich, silky smooth texture. The beers smooth as silk, and has a nice viscosity. The finish is amazing. Warm alcohol, lovely malt notes and the most delicious oak and whiskey aroma imaginable. All in all, a truly amazing beer. It has everything a good BA RIS should have. I am very pleased with it.
