3.3 Save The World Party Barge DIPA 16 oz can served in a shaker, from H-E-B 620 mix a 6- poured a cloudy and murky copper brown color, 4mm head formed and laced nicely upon the vessel. Aroma of pine and citrus. Hits the mouth with a wide body, malt washed in caramel but a big hop crescent makes you forget about that, finish is only mildly acidic. Decent. 3.2 Save The World Ridge Runner Dry-Hopped Kolsch This 12 oz can was located at a Total Wine in the Austin area several weeks ago. For this tasting I will use my ABGB tulip glass, acquired at this nearby brewery many years back. The appearance is an opaque light yellow body with creamy top of absolutely white foam. I smell grain and a touch of citrus. And the drink? It is hoppier than expected for a kolsch, lemons, crackers and water. Crisp. Like almost all kolsches, it is a decent beer, just nothing out of the ordinary. Wednesday, December 13, 2023

3.3 Save The World Lake Time Amber Lager A 12 oz can provided by good friend Dave. An amber lager, a style with few surprises in my experience. The smell is grain and a bit of meadow. I take a drink and get grain again, just a bit of of caramel, malt and metal. To shake it up some, I add a slice of lime. And that helps. Friday, December 1, 2023

3.9 Save The World Party Barge DIPA My friend in nearby Kingsland picked up a four pack of Party Barge at the brewery and saved two for me. Save The World has a new owner, things have apparently changed with that. The Belgian focus is not what it once was and that is quite all right, the owner has to do what it wants to do. But, as a consumer, I have my opinions also. So, now we have a DIPA to sample, not a problem by me, I have an appreciation for the style. Pint can, an attractive label, I pop the tab and pour inside of my ABGB snifter. The view is a moderately clear, yellow liquid with an impressive head of fully white foam. I like the nose, citrus, pine, apricots and grain. The drink is an improvement over the scent. Lots of hops, meadow, a touch of honey sweetness, alfalfa, melon and cedar. A credible DIPA. 3.9 Save The World Princepo Pacio I was able to find a 750 ml bottle of this tripel at a Total Wine on the west side of Austin last year. So tonight it will get opened and sampled. From the shelf I pulled out the Delerium snifter for the tasting. The pour is a clear, gold-yellow body with an arctic white head that appears it will stick around. I smell peaches, yeast and spice. But it is the drink I am here for. Apricots, peaches, white bread, perhaps some green apple and malt. It is a bit sweet, definitely dry and has some spiciness to it. I love it when a Texas brewery nails it with a Belgian style. Sunday, April 16, 2023

3.9 Save The World Apocalypse I hope to visit this Texas brewery before too long, curiously they specialize in Belgian style beers. I sought out this 22 oz bottle of Apocalypse at an Austin Total Wine a few days ago, got the last one. I have my Straffe Hendrik tulip glass ready for the pour and determine a brown-amber body with a barely there cover of light tan bubbles. There is a steady recharging from the strong carbonation until it settles somewhat. The smell is in line with the style, ripe fruit, grain and candi sugar. And the drink is rather good, not quite there to be extraordinary. Dark cherries, dark bread, a touch of chocolate, dates, malt and some yeastiness. Plenty of time to sit back and enjoy what this brew offers. Sunday, November 6, 2022

2.2 Save The World Rex Servus Grisette 12 oz. Christmas present from Texas. Thanks MS! Pours a crystal clear yellow color with a white head and good retention. Fair lacing. Light yeasty aroma. 3.8 Save The World Rex Servus Grisette Bottle. Nose is grain, lemon, and a spritzy yeast; really clear and clean, with a slight phenol overtone. Color is bright gold. Really crisp and refreshing on the tongue; somewhat similar to a saison, but even lighter, without a saison's tendency to brood. The wheat smooths it out, and the lemon adds a slight astringency that clears the palate. The finish is bright and clean. This is a great sessionable Belgian-style beer, perfect for food or by itself. Well done. Friday, November 9, 2018

4.4 Save The World Sol Hominis A delightful golden ale only surpassed by Victory Golden Monkey in my opinion. Floral, enough alcohol to feel on the tongue, but not overpowering. Perfect amount of yeast and ripe fruit profile, yet still close enough to a classic beer flavor for non snobs to enjoy. Be careful it is seductive and with the high abv could get you into trouble. On my top 20 overall list. Sunday, October 21, 2018

3.2 Save The World Humilus Filius Bottle:   Dark caramel, dirty, thin to moderate frothy light beige head, spotty lacing.   Soft earthy and very bready/grainy aroma.   Touch of fruit.   Grainy on the tongue, soft bready notes, a little barnish or musty.   Not as fruity as I once first thought.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Could use some more carbonation.   Musty grainy/bready finish.   Not too bright, lacks carbonation and some fruitiness.   Tiz OK, but its nothing special.
