Pike Octopus Ink 3.8
Rich deep dark brown coloured body with a nice, four centimetre tall rich brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, fragrant piney hops, a bit of caramel and some nice resinous notes. Medium-bodied; Assertive hoppy flavour at first with a big bite of alcohol, some more subdued sweetness and a nice fresh rsoasted malt flavour. Aftertaste is rich and very well-rounded with a good balance of roasted malt and hops - nice! Overall, a very good Black IPA with a good balance throughout and still showing a bunch of fresh hops throughout. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia on 28-March-2015 for US$4,99 sampled at home in Washington on 10-April-2016.

Turboninja
Pike XXXXX Stout 3.9
Tap@Pikeís, Seattle, USA. Light aroma with roasted malts and some coffee. Pitch black color with medium, creamy, lighter beige head. Strong, balanced taste with organic roasted malts, dark chocolate and some coffee. Wide taste spectrum and long aftertaste with roasted malts. Strong body with medium/light carbonation. Overall, rich, organic and balanced. Much taste for percentage. Should have more intense aroma.

Pike Post Alley Porter 4
Bomber from Bottleworks for $4.49. For some reason, this beer isnít making the rounds around town like the rest of their beers. But I finally got my hands on it. Pours black (actually very dark brown but looks black) with and a small khaki head. Aroma is beautifully melded and light with light, aggressive roast, cocoa, toffee, and a light milky touch. Flavor is similar, very clean and hits the right spots on the tongue and quickly fades. Then it leaves my palate. Just a bit mineral, no acidity. Again, this milky chocolate but actual beer and not adjunct. I give Pike a lot of crap but they sure do know how to put together a good stout and porter.

Pike Dragon Slayer IPA 3.6
Tap at brewery. Clear dull golden-amber, thick head. Malty IPA but without the sweet malt. Itís actually rally nice when they donít try to emphasize the hops for an IPA.

Pike Locale Skagit Valley: Copeland 3.2
Tap at brewery. Big fluffy head, very sticky and long lasting. Orange amber very hazy body. Pretty beer. Otherwise, a little unfresh hop and a bit too bitter. The hop is not too interesting. Meh.

Pike Dragon Slayer IPA 3.2
Draft pour pint at Pike. Clear copper pour with a pillow of white foam head. Soft aroma of grain. Flavor is definitely biscuit like. Dry. Very mild IPA, with a gentle hop bitter finish. Maltier impression than hops. Tastes like a slightly watered down IPA to be, but nothing really offensive going on. Alright beer.

Pike Monkís Uncle 3.4
The color of ancient amber with a thick frothy and lacy head. Wonderfully zesty bready and wheaty nose with licks of banana. Sweet and green banana flavors with some funky esters, and wheat bread. The flavors are a bit uneven--perhaps this would mellow a bit with additional aging. Not bad by any means, just a bit jarring with some of the rough edges.

Pike Old Bawdy - Dry Fly Barrel 3
Draft at BPP. Big heqd, lots of lacing. Really donít believe this is any different than the regular version, no barrel or extra etoh. Otherwise, industrial, stripped barleywine. Getting astringent enough that cherry is coming off. Basically everything I hate from a barleywine but not overly hot. Yuck. .

Strykzone
Pike Saison Houblon 3.9
Bomber from hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. I rolled the bottle and plenty of sediment resulted. Just short of a gusher. Lemon and saison notes in the aroma with spices and a little pepper. Fruit. First sip brings a good bit of funk, wet hay, and complex fruit. Barnyard stuff. Brett and earth. This is flavorful and enjoyable. Lemony undertones. A little sugar in the finish and then citrus and tropical fruit hops. This one keeps you guessing.

Pike Saison Houblon 4
Shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. It poured a hazy rich gold with a really robust off-white head the looked like whipped cream. Or maybe shaving cream as Dave suggested .Very thick lacing . Medium in body with a lively mouth feel. The flavor is complex with floral hops, citrus hops, and a lot of earth. The finish is very earthy and brett appears. A really tasty beer with lots of flavor and good saison funk. Loved it

Pike Locale Skagit Valley: Alba 3.6
22oz bottle in Seattle. Brown-tinted, malty orange beer, creamy thin white head. Sweet, mild malty aroma with some light juicy citrus hops. Malty pale ale overall, some sweet, almost anise malt. Soft floral-grassy hops, very mild. Smooth, tasty, clean beer. A bit of a bitter finish, but a clean sweet beer across the body. Still seems overpriced, but itís great to try a beer that shows off our local Pacific Northwest product!

Pike Kilt Lifter - Wood Aged 3.7
Pours orange-mahogany with a light tan head. Aromas of malty bread, brown sugar, berry, slight vinous character, dried fruit, candied orange, earthy, slight coconut, and a bit of wood. Taste is malty (bread), toast, whiskey, coconut, caramel, toffee, berry, slight candied citrus peel, and medium bitterness. Medium body, slick, fizzy but light carb, finishes on the dry side. Could use a touch more residual sugar for body and sweetness but overall quite nice.

Pike IPA 3.6
The Aroma has a malty side for an IPA. There is an brown/orange appearance. A balance between bitter and sweet. the texture is pretty thin with a good amount of carbonation. As a Seattlite this beer is from a well known brewery that has a location at the Pike Place Market hence the name. It is a good seattle beer and I wouldnít be reluctant to order a pint when available.
