Pike Locale Skagit Valley: Alba 3.6
22oz bottle in Seattle. Brown-tinted, malty orange beer, creamy thin white head. Sweet, mild malty aroma with some light juicy citrus hops. Malty pale ale overall, some sweet, almost anise malt. Soft floral-grassy hops, very mild. Smooth, tasty, clean beer. A bit of a bitter finish, but a clean sweet beer across the body. Still seems overpriced, but itís great to try a beer that shows off our local Pacific Northwest product!

Pike Kilt Lifter - Wood Aged 3.7
Pours orange-mahogany with a light tan head. Aromas of malty bread, brown sugar, berry, slight vinous character, dried fruit, candied orange, earthy, slight coconut, and a bit of wood. Taste is malty (bread), toast, whiskey, coconut, caramel, toffee, berry, slight candied citrus peel, and medium bitterness. Medium body, slick, fizzy but light carb, finishes on the dry side. Could use a touch more residual sugar for body and sweetness but overall quite nice.

Pike IPA 3.6
The Aroma has a malty side for an IPA. There is an brown/orange appearance. A balance between bitter and sweet. the texture is pretty thin with a good amount of carbonation. As a Seattlite this beer is from a well known brewery that has a location at the Pike Place Market hence the name. It is a good seattle beer and I wouldnít be reluctant to order a pint when available.

Pours a deep brownish black from the bomber with bubbly tan head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma of astringent roasted malts and a hint of piney hops. Taste is pretty much all the malt, hops are lost to me. Not the best balanced. and the malt is too bitter.

Pike Tandem - Oak Aged 3
On tap at WA Winter Beer Festival 2015, pours a deep dark mahogany with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out lots of woody notes, almost with a bit of dust. Flavour is dominated by the barrels, with loads of wood, including the aforementioned sawdust, and some bready malt. Wouldnít guess this was a dubbel underneath the barrels for the life of me. Okay, but brutal.

Pike Tandem - Oak Aged 3.6
Shaker at brewpub. Dark clear brown body, thick, sticky cocoa head and lacing. An Americanized Dubbel that has the woodsy Belgian dark biscuit malts, been bread but too clean on the yeastiness. Missing esters, too clean body with minerally carbonation. I mean they could have went the wrong direction but I like it yet Iím missing the x factor. The barrel aging isnít particularly perceptible to me, which is great! A very tasty version if the style but playing it a little too safe.

Pike Space Needle Golden IPA 3.4
Bottle at tderoeck's place. Malty, danky, hoppy, it's ok as a beer, but not as good as an IPA. Comes close to a Belgian boring hoppy.

Pike Kilt Lifter - Wood Aged 4
Bottle from beer junction. Having kilt lifter many times before, and knowing thatís this is the base is quite fantastic. Love the oak and Mexican vanilla dark malt flavor with the slightly smokey and peat tasting wood flavor. The heat of this 9 percent alcohol is pretty well hidden. Great!

Pike Derby Lager 3.3
650ml bottle pours a dirty golden orange color with a pinky finger of white head that settles down to leave a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and grass with some earthy tones. Taste is a grassy and earthy hop bitterness with a caramel malty sweetness. Light bodied with good carbonation. Overall, an interesting brew for the style, with an unexpected sweetness and hop balance. Good stuff!

ClarkVV
Pike Locale Skagit Valley: Alba 2.8
Bottle, fresh, drunk 11/4/15.
Large, foamy/rocky white head shows moderate to high retention atop a clear, deep bronze colored beer with ample carbonation.
As mentioned, the aroma is the best part here, with plentiful fruitiness, a good range of citrus character, clean, but estery yeast and some grainy malts. It dosent have any heavy pine or tons of grapefruit and incorporates meyer lemon-like levity, with very light pineapple, some dank, leafy notes as well as the more typical orange rind. No alcohol noted, no diacetyl in this one.
The flavor is, just well, kind of Pike pale ale-like; that is to say, dry, husky/scratchy/grainy and quite carbonated with too much specialty malt and not nearly enough supple base malt to give an appropriate texture. Astringency problems, borderline sourness as a result and even the not-over-the-top bitterness becomes problematic when your beers are this undermalted.
