Pike Pale
Bottle, Orcas Island. Pretty clear, dark amber, big bubble foam. Sweet amber beer, nutty brown malt. Distant bitter. Old school. Not my vibe. Fruity overtones. Alright.

Pike Kilt Lifter
Rating #1908 - 2015.09.24 #CraftTakesSeattle Beer 7 - Flight at taproom Light brown amber pour with a bubbly tan foam with little retention. Aroma is roasted malts, toffee, vanilla, oak, honey, mild peat smoke. Taste is quite sweet at first, prolonged oaky vanilla, light tobacco, toffee sweetness and the presence of oak in the body. I enjoyed this beer more as it started to warm. Very nice medium-full body, mild alcohol note on the palate which is typical for the style, and lots of rich sweetness.

Tons of malt which one would expect. Not as much peat or smokiness as others have stated which is a positive for me. Very clean and crisp mouthfeel which is rare for a Scotch Ale. Donít love the category but tried it as the brewery is right down the street, and glad I did. Arguably best Scotch Ale Iíve had.
