Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA
Pours golden orange with a minimal head. Aroma is tangerine and mango all day long! Taste is tangerine, grapefruit, mango, passion fruit and everything I love about the tropics. A certain kind of sweet maltiness creeps in at the mid followed by a green citrus rind and alchohol impact of a finish. Is this an ale or a liqueur? Don’t care any more. Awesome, awesome, awesome!

Cloudy, pale golden body beneath a fluffy white head. Coriander and orange fore in aroma above banana yeastiness and pale malt. Light-bodied with a spicy, fruit-laden flavor and a banana-bread finish. A very pleasant, refreshing yet flavorful beer on a hot summer day. ~~~~ 12 oz. bottle, purchased "somewhere in Baltimore" (according to my wife).

Overripe apple and pear. Cloudy copper, fine floaties, medium head. Clove, peach, pear. Full body, easy carbonation. Not a style I normally like, but this had nice spice notes to make it interesting.

355ml bottle. Clear pale golden with quickly fading white head. Aroma of peppermint, light pepper, herbs, light saison yeast and light straw. Taste is herbal with strong peppermint, lavender, light saison yeast and leaves. Medium mouthfeel, light carbonation and herbal aftertaste. Not at all a bad beer but too much peppermint for my taste.

Tap, hollywood. Clear pale. Leathery tasting palate form the start. Disappointingly bitter in that I was expecting a little more tartness. Some bandaid starts to set in. Medicinal bitterness near the end. Not as expected, but not bad overall. Can’t really taste the lavender in this one.

Dogfish Head Squall IPA
Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (herbs, flowers), with light notes of black tea, graham cracker, scorched honey, lemon zest. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety/watery texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Pretty good flavor balance and mouthfeel for the style, but the aroma is meek and somewhat odd (but thankfully not the usual raw/green hop bomb that most in this style are). Ok but not terribly enjoyable.

Mycket tjusigt!

Bottle into a shaker showing well filtered, honey wooden hues and sparse white foam. The nose shows toasted and nutty notes with light hints of apple and honey. But the nose is completely dry. The palate is well carbonated and medium bodied. Flavors of dry caramel malts show through out the beer. Perfect maltiness if there ever was any. Light IPA bitterness on the finish. Great modern American IPA.

Dogfish Head Beer To Drink Music To
Music has been a part of Dogfish Head since before Dogfish Head. So it’s a natural fit for a brewery that makes ‘Analog Beer for the Digital Age’ to be the Official Beer of Record Store Day, a celebration of the unique culture of record stores and the special role they play in their communities. Of course, as the Official Beer of Record Store Day, we had to create a special brew for the occasion! Insert Beer To Drink Music To. This Belgian-sty ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA
Finally got to taste this legend at BeerTemple in Amsterdam (where it is as heavily priced as it is hopped). Lightly lacing, stable, off-white, moussy head on a deep orange golden beer with no visible fizz. Evidently strong aroma of Grand Marnier, marmelade, mango, whisky, nail polish, methylated spirit, strawberry wine, candied banana - alcohol overpowering the hops but enhancing their orange-like qualities at the same time. Intense flavor of strong candied orange and orange liqueur, some underlying sourishness but sweetness dominating, thick oily mouthfeel, soft carbo, honeyish and biscuity malt sweetness, long finish with a lot of peppery and orangey hop bitterness but still it is the liqueurish sweetness which prevails, along with a hefty dosis of intense, burning, peppery, brandy-like alcohol. I don’t get this, I liked the 90 Minute a lot, but this to me is just over the top, way too boozy to be enjoyable at least to my personal taste. Glad I had it, though.

Dogfish Head Pennsylvania Tuxedo (8.5%)
Clear light amber and copper coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall tan head with microbubbles. Aroma of grass, hay and a good deal of piney notes with a faint bit of hops. Full-bodied; Super piney and sprucey with a dip of a christmas tree and a lot of oak noticeable - way too woodsy for anyone, this is like liking a pine tree with no complexity - it’s simply pine. Aftertaste shows more pine, full-bodied sweetness and a lot of sugars directly from the pine tree - no complexity at all. Overall, a pretty bad beer, simply put. This has a lot of pine, a lot of resin and more spruce, with a heavy body, absolutely no complexity and no way out of those flavours - they are there and if you can stomach them, you might think this is halfway decent, but this is strong, raw and not good, period. Overall, yet another complete failure for DFH with a gimmick beer that doesn’t work, yet people are willing to spend arms and legs to get these beers - I have no clue how Stone and DFH do this, but I wish I could replicate the marketing and [who cares about the beer] rake in the millions. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Wegman’s in Alexandria, Virginia on 05-November-2015 for US$9,99/six pack, sampled at home in Washington on 25-June-2016.

Bottle from liquor store in Frederick. I’d call this a barleywine, big sugary malt bomb. Muddy, hazy light brown, small beige head. Aroma us sugar, molasses, corn syrup, kind of tangy/sour. Taste is super sweet, prune juice, slick, oily body, kind of syrupy. For 17% ABV, not as much burn as you would think.

Draft to taster at The Pint Room. Looks solid; a completely transparent gold with white head. Smells of fruity and a bit of floral hops and a touch of tea alongside a mildly bittersweet backbone. Tastes like it smells, but with a moderately bittersweet backbone. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied. Solid, but unmemorable.

Draft pour. The beer is a clear copper with a white head of foam. Aroma has spice, wet dough, cinnamon, and peppercorns. Taste is subtly sweet and has some bitter nuances as well. Dry, earthy finish. I get a bit of orange zest. Subtle alcohol burn in the back of the throat. Decent, but the spices are overdone and distracting. Big body, moderate carbonation, prickly mouthfeel.

As smooth a barley wine as I’ve encountered though the finish does have a zippy, alcohol-influenced tingle. The aroma is very thick, and with a little effort reveals vanilla and yeast with hints of smoke. The taste is evenly sweet and not too heavy. Poured from a bottle.

bottle to snifter that pours a medium orange amber color, oily lacing which quickly dissipates and a quick disappearing white head. initial aroma once I let it warm up some is pepper, vanilla and orange with Belgian yeast. the flavor held true but there is something about this one which I don’t like. Dogfish Head Rosabi
Bottle pour into pint glass from Cigarette City. Aroma is malty bread base with sweet, almost tropical, fruit and musty smell. Appearance is cloudy light brown/orange with dark floaters, nice sparkle, finger-width off-white foamy head with nice retention and light lacing. Taste is the sweet fruit and malt base as in aroma with mild alcohol taste and late spiciness. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with soft to average carbonation, with sweet and spicy finish. Overall, this was unintentionally aged--2 years--which may not have been the best thing for it. Still good and some novelty with the wasabi but this was probably not at its best.
