Left Coast Asylum Belgian-Style Tripel Ale
Rich muddied brown coloured body with an amber glow and a very thick tan head. Aroma of honey, malt, toffee, caramel and a good deal of oak and vanilla and a ton of alcohol still noticeable. Full-bodied; Flavours of cereal, malt, oak, vanilla, honey, toffee, spices, coriander seed and a lot of alcohol to finish. Aftertaste is rich and very full-bodied with a ton of malt, toffee, caramel and especially alcohol warmth around. Overall, a nice beer that has a LOT to it, especially the texture with alcohol and depth, but this is more of a quad than a tripel, still, nice to try here in Hawaii, but this is a bad place to try this one - especially in the summer. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Manama Market in Haleiwa, O’ahu, Hawaii on 21-August-2016 for US$9,49 sampled in my hotel room here in Waikiki a few hours later on 21-August-2016.

Left Coast Hop Juice
Clearish golden coloured body with a thick, four centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of super fresh hops, grapefruit, pine and earth - super strong with a lot of residual sugars and alcohol noticeable as well. Full-bodied; Strong hop flavours at first that literally taste like a hop juice with all the sugars noticeable. Aftertaste shows more well-rounded flavours with earth, pine, grass, hay and malt with the sugars and the hops. Overall, a very nice and hop/sugar-centric beer with a good finish and complexity at the end, full of alcohol as well. Nice to sample even West of the Left Coast! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Malama Market in Haleiwa, O’ahu, Hawaii on 21-August-2016 for US$7,88 sampled a day later in my hotel room in Waikiki, O’ahu, Hawaii on 22-August-2016.

Rich hazy copper hued with a thin foamy tight head. Smooth earthy copper malty, boozy, with a thick his out malt and a thin leafy/piney bitterness. Big copper malty and boozy body as well, with a big resinous leafy hop bitterness, a load of citrus rind, and a thick boozy pale malt+biscuit finish.

Left Coast Sandy Brunette (Barrel Aged)
22, capped. Thanks, G&K! It seemed silly to get two of these, for some reason--but cracking two of them turned out to be the extra motivation I needed to add this beer and actually get a rating down for posterity. Pours a murky dark brown with a dense and creamy tan head that sticks around. Warming nose of molasses, vanilla, caramel, and bits of milk chocolate. Creamy thick body with soft carb. Caramel, molasses, vanilla, chocolate, and oak on the mid palate; just dry enough from the barrel character and darker malts to balance out the sweetness and keep it drinkable. Long chocolatey finish.

Left Coast Trestles IPA
Bottle--straw color beer with a minimum head, not sure how old it was as i bought off the single rack at Downtown. Light aroma of caramel and citrus. Taste was really balanced between malts and citrusy hops. Light hop finish and the overall feel was a little soapy. Produce place. 1.79

I really liked this stout, it was smooth and not too overly heavy on the palate to take away from the malt flavors. Its good to drink one or two but any more than that and you may feel it.

Certainly on the maltier side in body, the hops mostly create a dry finish more than anything else. A little citrus. This seems stuck between a full force double IPA and a standard IPA.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head and mild lacing. Smells of berries, copper, fruit. Tastes like a hundred flavors, really really flavorful, one of the best tasting I’ve had. Perfectly balanced. A little copper taste in the aftertaste is the only knock I have on this one.

Aromat to przede wszystkim palony słód, lekka czekolada, po ogrzaniu ciemne owoce. W smaku podwyższona paloność i goryczka, półpełne, czekolada deserowa, dość gładkie. Mało risowate. Dobrze skrojone, ale nie olśniewające piwo.

Left Coast Voo Doo American Stout
It pours black with little light that gets through. It has a light dark brown head. It does have legs to it. It has aromas of roasted malts, coffee, and dark chocolate. It has flavors that are roasted, with coffee and some charcoal. There are also some low fruit esters. It has a medium-high body with moderate bitterness and light alcohol warming. Overall it is a malt driven stout with a bit of fruity esters in the background that adds complexity to the overall presentation.

Left Coast Asylum Belgian-Style Tripel Ale
I see complaints about this beer. I don’t know. I really like it. It’s easy drinking. I’ve had every type of belgian style tripel around, my favs are the Trappistes Rochefort 6,8 and 10. The problem is those are overly expensive for 11.2 ounce beers. Hell, those beers (like the 10) are around 7$ a bottle. This one is 6.50$ usd in my area (southern california) and it’s really enjoyable. People say the alcohol is present, I don’t really sense that. What I get is a smooth drinking beer that gets nice as it warms up a bit. It’s got a tad of sweetness, but it’s not overwhelming. It’s got some tiny smoke to it, maybe some currant and vanilla and I don’t know. It’s just damn good. Not sure what people complain about.
