jsquire	2.2 Put-In-Bay Pass Out Bourbon Stout Cola colored with no head. Nose of vanilla and cleaner. This beer is dominated by the vanilla extract with a thin bourbon flavor and very little stout character. This is an example of how putting more in a beer makes a worse beer. Saturday, May 18, 2013
jsquire	3.5 Put-in-Bay Summer Brew On tap at the pub. Murky amber color with a short lived off white head. Rich sweet banana clove nose. Caramel sweetness with some toffee notes. Banana, clove and some bubblegum flavors. This is almost a dunkel, but is very quaffable. Tasty beer. Saturday, May 18, 2013

I get lots of sherry in this beer, with more of the burnt sugar, molasses, brown sugar and burnt malts. There is some of the softness that I get in am oatmeal stout, but not enough. Interesting beer. Frank	2.1 Put-In-Bay West Shore IPA Copper in color w/ a foamy head of mixed bubbles. Baby powder florals in the nose. Rather light and fruity and too mildly carbonated, leading to a watery texture. Frank	2 Put-In-Bay Pass Out Bourbon Stout Brown more so that black. Foamy white head. Light and a bit roast, a little raisiny. Carbonation is quite mild and the beer comes off as watery. Bourbon character is sort of ham fisted and clashes w/ an almost Belgian-ish yeast character that seems like the result of being fermented to warm. This is just not a well made beer. Rogueone	1.9 Put-In-Bay Ole Cotton Top Irish Red Draft @ PIB: To its only credit, this beer was a beautiful reddish-amber. Perhaps soapy glass, but there was virtually no head here. BeerVirgin72	1.9 Put-In-Bay West Shore IPA Had on tap at the brew pub on 8/10/2007. Poured a dark golden copper color. Smelled was all hops. Taste was hops and wet wood. BeerVirgin72	2.2 Put-In-Bay Ole Cotton Top Irish Red Had on tap at the brew pub 8/10/07. I LOVE Irish Reds. This one poured a nice amber color, with a nice foamy head. Sweet smell of malts and grains. Taste was sweet caramel right away, then followed by another bad funky taste that was present in all three beers from this brewer. It really tasted as if the beer was contaminated. Left a horrible after taste in my mouth. I did not finish this beer either. VERY disappointed in this brewer. Sunday, August 12, 2007

OhioDad	3.1 Put-In-Bay Fat Man's Friend On tap at the brewpub on 6/26/2006. Pours very dark brown with a creamy tan head that stays pretty well and laces some. Aromas of roasted malts, some nuts, and oddly enough some floral hops. Flavor is of chocolate, roasted malts, light coffee, and some light hops at the finish. Medium bodied with some pretty lively carbonation for a stout. Pretty smooth throughout and delivers a pretty clean finish just as the description states. This was the best of the 3 that the brewpub offered but it was still pretty average. Saturday, July 1, 2006

Aroma of light grassy and floral hops over light caramel malts. Flavor is caramel, some light peach flavor, a bit of the wet cardboard, and some more light hops on the finish. OhioDad	2 Put-in-Bay Summer Brew On tap at the brewpub 6/26/2006 - Poured a darker amber color with no head at all. Aroma started out o.k. with a touch of wheat but some odd cola-like aroma was there as well. Flavor is nothing like a wit. Caramel malt is the most prevalent beer-like flavor I got but there is lots of wet cardboard and a touch of metallic flavor as well. Carbonation was light but it did have a little. Inveigler	0.9 Put-in-Bay Summer Brew If you take a look at my stats, you'll probably notice that I rate quite high. Two reasons for this. First, I tend to rate beers I like more than beers I don't like. I rush home if it's something good to notify the folks on this site. Second reason, I tend to give most brews the benefit of the doubt. This beer, however, deserves the trouncing that I give it. Nearly no carbonation ... absolutely lacks head. An attempt at a wit? I am not really sure. An unattractive sour caramel aroma. Tastes flat on the tongue. Actually made me grimace. This beer is to be avoided. Tuesday, September 24, 2002
