Marin Hella Art Wah
On tap @ Hogs Apothecary. Clear straw colored beer with a soapy white head. Really crisp and bright and easy drinking beer. Floral, grassy, and slightly spicy hops. Just a hint of apple and citrus rind. Nice malt flavor and sweetness, particularly bread and toast. Subtle bitterness and a nice, restrained sweetness. Nice stuff, a pleasant surprise.

Marin Mt. Tam Pale Ale
Can from Aleś by Mail, drunk at home. Dark gold/amber, tony little bit od white head and quite a bit of carbonation. Papaya, spruce and resin in the slightly muted bit still enjoyable arome. Initial sweet taste, heavy on the małt with more sticky resinous notes. Finish is really short, and palate is thin bordering on watery. But all in all it’s an excellent little pale ale.

Marin Three Flowers IPA
On tap at Brasserie St. James in the Mission, having ended up here after finding our movie at the Alamo Drafthouse to be sold out. I’ve had this one before a couple of times but haven’t gotten around to rating it. Hazy orange gold pour, fruity and subtle aromas. Nice, well rounded hop character with starting bitterness and a tart, sour apple finish. Excellent crispness and balance for a heavy-hitting IPA. This will always be one that draws my attention when I find it.

1 pt 6 fl oz bottle bought at a Safeway in Mille Valley, CA. Clear dark golden in the glass with an one finger head. British style hopy on the nose. Taste starts hopy, mid bitterness, some malt in the background. Resin sequence in the middle part with some increasing citrus elements. Really fresh! Enjoyed it!

Can from AbM enjoyed at "Gunnarsbu" Canned 17.07.15. Pours hazy deep golden with a big creamy white head. Resiny and herbal hop aroma. Taste is light crisp resiny hops, some mango and bready sweetness before it finishes off with a minty kiss at the finish. Good, but probably better fresh.

Keg at the brewpub, 29/01/16. Murky mahogany brown with a decent tan cap. Nose is dark fruit rinds, light spice, Belgian yeast esters, toffee, dates. Taste comprises tangy dark fruit, boozey Xmas cake, yeast trace, toffee, light spice, raisens, dried dates. Medium + body, fine carbonation closing with a tangy dark fruit rinse. So so ... unrefined - too bitter and sharp in places.

Marin Mt. Tam Pale Ale
This was poured into a becher pint glass. The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a thin one finger white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Bubbly to foamy white lacing glosses nicely around the glass in a messy sort of way. The smell started off with subtle sweet to bitter citrus pulp and rind over top of a nice caramel backbone. The taste balanced nicely between the sweetness of the malt to the sweetness to the hops and then the bitterness of the citrus fits in for a nice overall balance. Semi-dry citrus to malt aftertaste. Dry sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. Semi-dry citrus/piney - bitterness hitting my tongue - not too harsh. Overall, I wanna say a heavier version of Zombie Dust, slightly...definitely not as smooth as ZD, but I would have this again.

355 ml can. Canned 17.07.2015.
Pours clear golden color with a large white head. Juicy fruits and resin on the nose, mellow hops and pine. Resinous hops on the flavor, sweet orange and mango notes, slight malty bitterness. This was surprisingly old sadly, no cardboard notes or anything like that, just lost the hop edge it probably had. Quite juicy now.

On tap @ brewpub during RateBeer weekend, January 2016. Clear yellow appearance with a thin white head. Vinegar, oak, and dark berries in the aroma. Tart, lemon, yogurt, acetic acid, and oak in the flavor which is pretty damn tasty. Light body. Not overly sour. Pretty easy to drink. I’d like to have this one again.

On tap @ brewpub during RateBeer weekend, January 2016. Hazy, light yellow appearance with a white head; it looks fantastic. Soap, spice, potpourri in the aroma. The flavor is pretty floral and herbal. A little too soapy. The flavor was a little less than impressive to me but it’s a beer I’d like to give another shot in the future.

Marin Dirty Bomb Saison
On tap at Beer Revolution. It pours a mostly clear pale golden color with a white head. The aroma has some nice apricot and vanilla. Good levels of acid and funk on the nose. A little graham cracker sweetness. The flavor is massively oaky with vanilla, soap, light lemon and big time brettanomyces bandaid. Plastic bandaids. Very mildly tart. The body is fuller and thicker than I would’ve thought for this kind of beer. I’m not really a fan of the bandaid-like brett character or the overpowering oak. It smelled way better. Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish my glass. The bandaid aftertaste lingered and this angered me.

On tap @ Marin. Opaque black colored beer with a finger of khaki foam. Huge cocoa, vanilla, bourbon, and dark chocolate. Nice toasted marshmallow and coconut notes as well. On tap @ Marin. Golden orange colored beer with a soapy white head. Strong popcorn and cracker malt profile to it, which immediately puts me off. There’s a good bit of floral hop character, some grass, and moderate citrus. Some pine aroma and flavor, along with the associated bitterness. Kind of a sweet, grainy finish, though.
