Pivovaren Zavod Kamenitza (MolsonCoors) Reviews

Kamenitza 1881 2.4
Well crap, it’s a pale lager. Ceiling is Portobello probably a 2.8 at that. Oh wait - it was brewed by BELGIAN brewmasters? Now wait a minute... Fizzy yellow appearance. That’s that. Aroma is grains, but slightly Belgian. There’s hope? Flavor is light pale malt, Belgian yeast ?!? and a finish that actually Congress through quite clean. Interesting... BTdubs, why don’t they just make a Budweiser Belgian or some shizz with Belgian yeasts, since it’s been established that Belgiums = good? Not the worst idea ever.

Bottle at Happy restaurant, somewhere in central Bulgaria. Bright white cloudy pale beer. White foam. Odd sweet aroma, wheat beer wit beer like. Pale, cloudy body. Odd sweet yeast and corn. Tastes like a poor wheat beer? Odd.

Nice creamy white longlasting head. Redish colour. No much aromas but good sweety malt taste with good semibitter finish. Not bad for macro lager.

Not big fan of this kinf\d of feature less beers, but sometimes suroundings make the beer. So I am somewhere in the middle here. weak generic hop aroma that just dissapears. Bit like heineken but with sip of water and less hops.

Lattina.

Can, bb 7/16. Very pale orange with a white head that fades to nothing. Aroma is vaguely corny with hay, a touch of lemon and grass. Very thin, sprity. Not overflavoured, it’s fair to say. But it’s reasonably clean if bland. Sweet with a little grassy hop note at the end.

Not bad dark lager, but should have used caramel malts instead of caramel coloring. And even after the caramel and hops you can still taste the corn.

Bad even for a macro brew. Foam goes quickly, taste is grassy and soapy. Overall bad generic lager.

Just an ordinary macro lager beer ... nothing to be trilled about. Boring and kind of bad.

The aroma and taste are not bad at the begining but the use of corn for production leaves a bad aftertaste.

Clear Golden Color, Medium Head That Disperses to a Thin Ring Rather Quickly Leaving rings of Lacing. Grainy Aroma. Grainy, Corn, Lightly Sweet and just a Trace of Bitter at the End. Thin and Watery. Drinkable but Boring. Decent For What It Is. Pass It...

My slow trip through the world of beer finally brings me to Bulgaria. 500 ml bottle, at least it’s a brown bottle, which could’ve helped it. Much corn and alcohol in the nose. Slightly hazy yellow color, foam dwindes quickly, leaving a bit of lace. Taste is not as sweet as most adjumct beers, yet it’s still kind of cloying. "Best by" code on label is too wrinkled to read, so I don’t know how old this is. Palate is picking up more fusel alcohol that does not help this much.

Can at home. Very light straw with short lasting fluffy white head. Light lemon, mineral and a nasty chemical/herbal bitterness. There’s barely any malts at all, which I guess is not that bad as there’s no nasty sweetness here. Bitterness is quite in the foreground throughout, but it’s more bad hop extract than any fresh hops/herbs. Light bodied with crisp feel. Not very good.

Bottle. It’s just another eurolager, with no head. grainy aroma with no hops, sweet, low bitterness.Fits perfectly in the deScription and I had worse in my life. If you have to - you can drink it, it’s not that awful.

Got it from a can. Carboard in the aroma, almost no taste. Some metal in the aftertaste. I squized a lemon in it and finished the beer using the fakt it was cold, I was thirsty and the day was really hot. But never again. There are much better international pale lagers out there.

Bottle. Pours clean straw yellow with a white head that quickly reduces. In aroma and taste normal eurolager, fotunately without any flaws. In the summer on the beach in Bulgaria may be a good choice.

Kamenitza T’mno Cherry 2.6
BOTTLE 50 CL. The aroma is pure home made cherry compote, without the artificial acidity that commercial juices have. And you can even pick up some hops, not much - but there’s that warm noble herbal aroma. The taste is dominated by cherry juice, but there’s also some grains, or rather the unfermented wort that most non-alcoholic beers have. Unlike the aroma, the taste has that prickly ascorbic acidity. The sweetness, thankfully, is not exaggerated, but the palate still gets a little sticky in the aftertaste. Traces of warm herbal hops can be picked up, albeit without any bitterness. Not horrible.

BOTTLE 50 CL. Light aroma with notes of dusty grains, some caramel and traces of hops. The flavour is quite dry with sweet and sour vinous notes and light, but harsh as wormwood, bitter finish. The body is light. Still, drinkable.

Many thanks to Cunningham for the 50cl can. The beer is golden in the glass and neutral in the nose. Neutral-malty beginning. Slightly sweetish in the background. Refreshing, but not deep at all. Slightly bitter in the aftertaste, but only very moderate under the neutral, slightly sweetish body. Hints of grain, not as crisp as expected. Neutral-grainy with a very light bitterness on the tongue.

Kamenitza 1881 1.5
Rated on 01-16-2013 (Bottle) The appearance is a medium sized creamy, smooth white head that is mostly lasting, hazy yellow body, slow rising carbonation, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is corn and malt. The flavor is corn, malt and sweet. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. This beer is very bland tasting and lacks character.

Can at home Didn’t pour, no info on the view . Smell is sweet malts ( here we go again ) Taste is quite bitter ( not really hoppy ) bit dry , some malt notes . Easy drinkable - as a lager should be - but kinda watery in the end . Very surprising taste given the scent . Not a thing to seek out, but better than expected and not too bad in its genre either ... Would it be the Belgian brewmasters ? Chances are small , its better than established Belgian brands such as Jupiler / maes / ...

Had this in a place in Sofia some months back. Just stumbled upon the notes on my phone. Not much of an aroma, fairly average taste. Some bitterness coming through but nothing really hoppy, malty or what you’d expect from a beer. It was refreshing enough, and quite a welcome drink after a 5 hour drive from Razgrad.
