3 Charger Extra Strong Better then I expected it to be. Pours a bright cloudy orange with a white head. Smells of citrus. Taste is bright, with citrus, lemon and grapefruit. Strong finish. Had on tap at Beer Cafe in New Delhi. Thursday, June 23, 2016

2.5 Sandpiper Super Premium Beer The aroma offers a little mango and apricot. Malt is not much, and it tastes almost watery. It’s a little hard carbonated and has a hop bitterness that is easily and quickly dwindling. But it is a good thirst quencher. Wednesday, September 16, 2015

0.9 Zingaro Super Strong Bottle at a wedding in Mahabalipuram. This is a really pointless beer, stupidly strong, doesn’t taste of much apart from the alcohol. Sunday, January 8, 2012

2.9 Sandpiper Super Premium Beer I had this in Mahabalipuram, brewed somewhere near Chennai. best beer I’ve tried in India apart from Indus Pride. The problem with Indian beers in India is finding someone with fresh supplies, which probably explains the range of scores Indian beers get. Thursday, September 15, 2011

1.9 Sandpiper Super Premium Beer Slightly better than some of the other beers here. I would put it above overrated Haywood and on par with Kingfisher. Nothing worth seeking out, but if your in India, not many beers are. Saturday, July 28, 2007

2.8 Zingaro Super Strong Huge thanks to Amit for bringing this back from India for me. A fun label indicates that the beer has less than 8% alcohol. That vagueness would never allow a bottle of this into the US commercially, but is what makes sampling Indian beers so much fun. Pours a light gold, surprisingly good head with decent retention. Aroma was vaguely bready with a hint of ash. Flavor was quite a shock, bready malts, faint rice, a touch of honey, and a definite smoky note that I wasn’t remotely expecting. Faint hop bitterness on the finish. By Indian beer standards, this was really good, by malt beer standards, it bordered on fantastic. I know I got this bottle in good condition, but I was surprised at how much better it was than I had expected. I suspect the flavors I found here would wilt quickly in the hull of a ship for a month, or on a store shelf with that clear bottle. Friday, February 3, 2006

1.7 Sandpiper Super Premium Beer Acquired bottled in Delhi, India. Pale golden larger. Pours with a frothy white head which is well maintained. One of the few non-strong beers that I’ve been able to obtain. Thin, adjunct, non-sense if I’m being completely honest but drunk on location it’s not the worst you could have. 1.5 Zingaro Super Strong What the hell is this description????? Anyway, this is simply a malt liquor that is more alcoholic than other beers in India. Shocker as expected. Perhaps the gypsies should have kept their secret to themselves. Thursday, November 17, 2005

1.3 Sandpiper Super Premium Beer Bottled in Gurgaon, Haryana, India, as "Sandpiper Premium Lager, 5%". Pale golden, near no head. Fruity and ricey. Distinct adjunct flavour. The lagering time is decidedly too short resulting in a mellow, syriupy, fruty mouthfeel. Near no bitterness. Sadly the best of the offerings from this mega-crappy brewery. Friday, October 28, 2005

0.9 Zingaro Super Strong Bottled. Pale golden, small creamy head. Aroma od diesel and alcohol. The thin body gives the rice and syrup a hopeless task to stry stio the onslaught of burning chemicals and alcohol. There’s no trace of the imported hops touted on the label. More or less undrinkable. Friday, October 28, 2005

1.1 Turbo Super Strong Beer Bottled. Bright golden, small brief head. Aroma of glue and rice. Sweet with plenty of varous solubles, but glue dominates unitl rice takes over and alcohol shines through. There’s a vague hint of syrup as well. Not a terribly pleasant experience. Thhe probably forgot some words in the commercial decription, they must have meant "Brewed far away from imported (or any) hops". Friday, October 28, 2005

2.3 Sandpiper Super Premium Beer pours a light yelow w/ lots of carb bubbes and a thick tall white head. Something in the smell is just off and I don’t know what it is a liggle egg and some sweet malt. Palate is light ok coating overly carbonated. Flavor is yeast bread a light malt and some stale cardboard. Not very good but drinkable. Wednesday, August 3, 2005
