Silver City Liquid Sunshine - Chardonnay Barrel
Bottle (500ml $13): Light golden with small white head. Very nice Triple. Carbonation was lower than typical, but maybe that is a result of the barrel aging. Nice before dinner drink

Silver City Nice Day IPA
A rather typical PNW IPA. That isn’t a knock on it, just an observation. Strong grapefruit and citrus notes with. Sweet caramel malts to back it up. Medium to thin body. Lingering sweet citrus notes in the medium bitter finish. Not a complex brew. Drinks quite well on a warm afternoon.

Silver City Fat Scotch Ale
Rating #1913 - 2015.09.24 - #CraftTakesSeattle Beer 12 - Bottleshare. Pours a really dark brown with a bubbly tan foam with medium retention. Aroma is earthy, molasses, toffee, mild peat. Taste is quite sweet at first, malt and toffee, full bodied. I enjoyed this beer more as it started to warm. Great peat notes make this phenomenal.

Silver City Fat Woody Scotch Ale
Sweeter and fruitier than the base, which at first whiff was a put off, but it opened up very nicely to the point I liked it a little more in the end.

A malty, dark, strong ale in the Belgian style of brewing. This beer is full flavored with rich notes of black cherry, warm caramel and a mild coffee character.

Not as flavorful as some other Scotch Ales that I have had but this one is really smooth with rich maltiness & a touch of smoky peat character. Silver City is becoming one of my favorite Washington breweries!

Keg at Beer Zen backyard party. A nice tropical grapefruit aroma, bright. Has a simple tropical and citrus hop flavour, light in feel and bitterness for an IPA, crisp, very sessionable.

Silver City Liquid Sunshine - Chardonnay Barrel
Draft 10 oz pour at Special Brews. Shiny golden pour with a disappearing head. Soft Belgian banana aroma with a doughy character. Flavor is very similar, though remains a unique Belgian ale. Cool lemon sweet like finish. Yeast is dominant. Fruity and refreshing. I like it.

Silver City Liquid Sunshine - Chardonnay Barrel
Draft at SB. Pours a hazy burnished medium amber with a fizzy white head that sticks around for a while, but not forever. Bright nose, nice combination of light lemony, grassy vinous notes with some soft green apple and peppery spice from the belgian yeast. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Oaky, lemony, grassy, apple-y, peppery mid-palate. Interesting combination of flavors. Easy to enjoy without thinking about too much, but also seems worthy of more careful consideration.

Silver City Ridgetop Red Ale
Draft at the Auburn WA Applebee’s, while waiting for my tire to be replaced. Wish I had a better beer to wash down the tire emergency. Soapy cream on clear brown. Looks like a bad Schwarz. Sweet malty aroma. Banana, bitter grain, water. Tootsie. Some metallic bittering, only a hint of hops. Cola bitter finish. Truly boring.

Can: dark whiskey color. Sweet notes throughout. Aftertaste resembles flat Dr. Pepper. That sounds gross, but it melds well with the lighter hop flavor.

Silver City Solar Sister Triple Wheat IPA
Draught at Brouwer’s Café, Seattle
Hazy amber color, generous head. Aroma of orange and butter. Very sweet, some malt flavor, fudge, sweet oranges, and some butter again. Warming alcohol, but not boozy. With all this diacetyl, this is quite seriously flawed, although I can still drink it.

Silver City Ziggy Zoggy
12 oz can poured, left over from Eugene’s Memorial Day party. Still quite fresh. Thanks for the can! This seemed like a fitting choice to start today off. It’s not quite 11 am, and it’s already 80° out. Traveling to Florida this week, but it’s plenty hot up here in the PNW. The sun on this can sums out this weekend for sure. Hazy golden pour with a loose bubble head. Pleasant grain aroma. Flavor is a touch of sweet, but mostly a light refreshing beer to drink outside. This beer is a good indicator that summer more or less began this weekend. Try to say Ziggy Zoggy Zwickel five times fast. If you can do it, I’ll buy you one. Overall, this was delicious.

Silver City Old Scrooge - Bourbon Barrel
500mL capped bottle shared by Andrew. This is what I call a whiskey scented malt beer. It’s sweet malts ,tea malts, and definitely barrel aged. It’s not over the top or offensive. I like the lack hops. But it’s basically a beer that was interesting 10 years ago.

Silver City Old Scrooge - Bourbon Barrel
Bottle pour, 2014 vintage. Pours a clear ruby copper color with a foam head. Aroma with rough wine and oak. Super sweet. Flavor is smooth mostly. Vanilla, rye and oak up front. Sweet vanilla, sugar linger late. Too much sweet. Too much caramel. Too much whiskey. Too much barrel. Dry finish. Not bad, but everything was turned to volume 11.

Silver City Fat Woody Scotch Ale
Serving: from tap at Red Papaya Ale & Spirits. Aroma: light malt. Appearance: small, creamy, off-white, initial head with fair lacing and fully lasting longevity. Clear, dark-amber body. Taste: heavily sweet, date-like initial flavor and heavily sweet, woody, date-like finish with long duration. Palate: medium-to-full body, syrupy texture and lively carbonation. Overall: this is the only sweet beer I can remember liking.

12oz can, dated 138th day of 2016, which is May 17th, so very fresh. I bought this only because I realized its a zwickel, who would of guessed. Also, I was having a Memorial Day party, so a sixer at $8 for a fresh unfiltered lager is indeed a worthy purchase. Clear, dim golden color. Clean beer, a little malt sweetness but very earthy unfiltered lager with light noble hoppiness. Surprisingly well done beer.

Oh, yeah. Draft poured into a pimp cup then wrapped in gangsta rap and consumed in Bed-Sty. Well, not really but beat that Andrew. Heck, I love WA brewed malt likka. A little appley, a little corn sweet but damn good for the style. Of course, this is a baby malt likka at less 7abv. If I had to drink a malt likka it would be the Naked City version. If I had to drink a malt likka and drive, this would be my huckleberry.

Silver City St. Florian IPA
Bottle poured into pilsner glass. Pours a light copper. Has a two finger white head that dissipates at a normal rate. Ideal lacing. Smells citrus and fruit, very appealing. Taste mimics the aroma well. The aftertaste isn’t quite as nice although the bitterness feels just right. A really well put together front and middle but seems closer to average on the back end.

Bomber via trade, thanks AK. Poured a thinner body of bright gold with a piss foam bright white head. Aroma/flavor of corn and rice, light alcohol, sort of harsh, green grapes and glue. Body is medium but with soft carbonation it comes off as watery. Pretty good for what this is though.
