Schlenkerla29	3.3 Plank Hefeweizen Im getrübten dunklen Bernstein und mit üppiger, sehr beständiger Schäumung macht das Plank Hefeweizen eine exzellente Figur. Der hefige Duft geht stark in die süße, frischebetonte Richtung mit spürbarer Würze. Banane, Aprikose und Orange finden sich in ihm neben süßlichem Malz wieder. Tendenziell süß und mit leider zu spritziger Kohlensäure legt das Plank Hefeweizen los, zugegebenermaßen ein etwas unglücklicher Start. Der fruchtige Körper (Orange, Zitrone, Apfel, Banane) punktet mit frischen Hefenoten und findet im fein gehopften Abgang in Begleitung von Gewürznelke einen gelungenen Abschluss. Das Plank Hefeweizen wirkt erfrischend und ist mit einem schönen, fülligen Körper ausgestattet. Der Hefecharakter ist durchweg präsent, wie ich das von einem Hefeweizen auch erwarten darf. Hier hatte ich ein leckeres Hefeweizen im Glas, welchem im Antrunk lediglich die ein wenig zu aggressive Kohlensäure im Weg stand. Sunday, May 14, 2023

Pours light/mid gold with a large white head, nice mouthfeel, sweetness seeps through, it's a little malty but also dries out a little, some fruitiness. Schlenkerla29	3 Plank Helles Sehr ansprechend steht das Helle von Plank hellgolden mit genügend feinporigem Schaum im Glas. In der Nase finden sich milde, süßliche Malznoten sowie eine deutlich Spur herbstlicher Apfel wieder, absolut stimmig und einladend. Der Einstieg ist malzbetont und nicht zu süß, die in der Duftprobe wahrgenommenen fruchtigen Aromen haben Bestand. Neben einem deutlichen getreidigen Einschlag gibt alsbald eine honigartige Süße den Ton an. Der Hopfen ist mir offen gestanden etwas zu mild abgebildet. So entwickelt sich ein tendenziell mildes, durchaus vollmundiges, aber geschmacklich ansprechendes Helles mit subtiler Würze und betonter Süße. Bei normaler Säure zeigt sich ein ausgewogener, gut trinkbarer Körper, dem allerdings etwas mehr Charakter gut zu Gesicht stünde. Im feinherben Abgang ist etwas Hopfen zu erfassen, dessen milde Intensität durchaus in Ordnung geht. Ein grundsolides und bodenständiges Helles aus der Oberpfalz. Friday, April 21, 2023

Schlenkerla29	2.2 Plank Heller Weizenbock Dunkelorange, blickdicht trüb und mit üppiger Schaumkrone lässt der Helle Weizenbock von Plank optisch kaum Wünsche offen. In der recht intensiven Duftprobe finden sich neben kräftigem Weizenmalz auch Noten von Kräuterlikör und Rhabarber wieder, welche durch Nelke und milden krautigen Hopfen abgerundet werden. Der viel zu sprudelige Antrunk präsentiert sich breit weizenmalzig mit überraschend orangenfruchtiger Herbe. Die Weizenmalzsüße wirkt nicht zu dick aufgetragen, herbe Aprikose und die unvermeidliche Banane geben sich im weiteren Trinkverlauf geschmacklich zu erkennen. Bei entschieden zu aggressiver Kohlensäure wirkt der fruchtig-säuerliche Körper für einen Bock etwas zu dünn, obwohl er das ja gar nicht ist. Letztlich stellt sich der Helle Weizenbock von Plank längst nicht so weich und breit dar, wie ich mir einen Weizenbock vorstelle. Eher werde ich an ein spritziges, fruchtig-säuerliches Sommerweizen mit deutlich erhöhtem Alkoholgehalt erinnert. Somit liegt hier aus meiner Sicht eine klare Zielverfehlung vor. Schlenkerla29	3.6 Plank Pilserl Sattes Goldgelb wird unter einem sahnigen, stabilen Traum von Schaumkrone sichtbar. Der Geruch nach zitronig-harzigem Hopfen mit herb-kräuterigem Einschlag erinnert unzweifelhaft an ein Pils, wenngleich man derlei herbe Attacken aus dem Süden der Republik eigentlich gar nicht gewohnt ist. Der feinspritzige Antrunk knüpft nahtlos daran an und stellt sich intensiv hopfig mit harzig-grasigem Aromahopfen und Zitronenschale zur Schau, wobei die wohlproportionierte Malzsüße ein schönes Gegengewicht schafft. Bei durchschnittlicher Rezenz entsteht mit der Zeit ein ausgesprochen trockenes Mundgefühl. Auch der Abgang erweist sich als sehr herb mit grasigen Anleihen. Beim Pilserl handelt es sich um ein kerniges Pilsener der herberen Sorte, wobei die Herbe intensiv aromatisch wie nur bei wenigen Pilsenern ausfällt. Die perfekte Kombination von aromatischem Hopfen und schöner Malzsüße sorgen für Pilsgenuss zum Dahinschmelzen. Saturday, January 21, 2023

Schlenkerla29	3.2 Plank Export Dunkel Tiefes Kupferrotbraun und eine leicht angebräunte, cremige Schaumkrone sind die optischen Aushängeschilder des Dunklen Exports von Plank. Trocken-herbes dunkles Malz, Rosine, Brotkruste und eine hintergründige hopfenwürzige Herbe bestimmen die recht intensive Duftprobe. Der feinspritzige Antrunk wartet tief dunkelmalzig mit dunkler, fast röstiger Brotkruste, Pumpernickel, gebranntem Zucker und interessanten, wenngleich nicht allzu kräftigen herbalen Noten auf. Die Süße bewegt sich auf einem sehr angenehmen Niveau, bei milder Rezenz wirkt es zudem wunderbar geschmeidig. Trotzdem ich mir zugegebenermaßen einen etwas gehaltvolleren Körper gewünscht hätte, wird eine passable Vollmundigkeit geboten. Im Abgang treffe ich schließlich neben einer kaffeeartigen Röstigkeit auf eine milde, aber ausdrucksstarke kräuterige Herbe.
