From Bottle @fonefan gueuze tasting Ulfborg, thanks to fonefan - june 24th 2016. Pours a cool reddish, semiclear orange. Aroma has complex, oily fruityness; gooseberry, sour cherries, almond, marzipan, light acetone, blackberries. Taste is sour, dry, juicy and super fruity, no hints of acetone, citric finish. Average to low carbonation and an oily body. Tasty!

Goede frambozenlambiek. Wel een groot verschil met andere fruit-lambieken. Zeer diepe, zeer zure smaak. Maar met momenten toch plakkerig en zoet overkomen. Prijs-kwaliteit een stuk beter als die van Cantillon en Drie Fonteinen, stuk makkelijker om aan te geraken ook.

still gold pour, no head. Doughy light-oxidation nose, plenty of sour nectarine, light rubber accents. Very soft profile, sour but incredible pale-malt and nectarine balance mid and late palate. Super juicy, low acid throughout, thin body but incredibly long lacto finish. Flavor a -large- step up from nose, love the fresh fruit.

De Cam Oude Kriek
Bottle, 2009 vintage. Pours a deep cherry red body with a short-lived white head. Nose is red berries, stable funk, cherries, apple vinegar and hints of wood, hay and lemon juice. Taste is tart cherries up front, then an assault of lemon juice, apple vinegar and lactic sourness takes hold of the palate. In the back, cherry pits and dark fruity tones make themselves known. Medium to light body, dry finish, high carbonation. Amazing stuff, really mouth-puckering sour but with just enough cherry flavor to be an outstanding specimen of the kriek breed of sours.

750ml bottle at home in Richmond to celebrate a new job. As ’De Oude Cam Exclusief Oude Kriek’, 6.5%, bottled Jan 2009. Thin red pour to form a purple cherry red, clear, sparkling beer with a brief pink head. Aroma is intense cherry, thin red wine like merlot, meaty, funk, a little swimming pool and dried out manure. A lovely balance between cherry and lambic sherbet dirtiness. Body is full, oily, soft carbonation. Taste is intense sour cherries, sherbet, cherry Tangfastics, red lemonade, lemon juice. Quenching fruits and not overly sour. Aftertaste just keeps going. Very indulgent. Fantastic.

Bottle, 2009 vintage. The cork pops right out of this one, but no gusher is in sight. Instead, a gentle smoke arises from the bottleneck, promising a very high carbonation level contained within the liquid therein. Pours a slightly hazy light golden body with a large creamy white head. Aroma is smooth funky brett notes, hay, lemon peel, citric notes, straw and hints of minerals, red fruits and grape peel. Taste is lemon juice, stable notes, lots of funky brett tones, hay, citrus peel and hints of grape peel, cellar must, straw and vinous fruity tones. Light, dry body, high to fizzy carbonation. A real funkfest and a lovely dry, slightly fruity geuze with lots of character. Very nice.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 2/2012. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with no head and minimal lacing. Light bubbles sticking to the glass. Aromas of tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange peel, green apple, white grape, hay, straw, grass, wet wood, leather, musty funk, light white wine vinegar, light pepper/vanilla, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, oak, and light-moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange peel, green apple, white grape, hay, straw, grass, wet wood, leather, musty funk, light white wine vinegar, light pepper/vanilla, and yeast/oak earthiness. Moderate acidic/tannic tartness and light yeast/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange peel, green apple, white grape, hay, straw, grass, wet wood, leather, musty funk, light white wine vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, oak, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from acidity as well. Minimal carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth and moderately acidic/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is an excellent unblended lambic style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, oak, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink with the balanced acidity. A very enjoyable offering, with plenty of classic lambic flavors.
