2.8 Tooheys Extra Dry Platinum Panda at home, thanks to Ed Danlo, 04/02/24. Tooheys ... bringing out the classic cartons now! Clear golden blonde with a decent lasting white cap. Nose is grains, herb, straw, pale malts, light biscuit, faint caramel. Taste comprises pale malts, stale bread, toasted grains, herb, lemon nip, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent for the style ... too many bier xnobes pegging this one back. 1.28? Fuck off! Sunday, February 4, 2024

5 Tooheys New On tap at the Delungra hotel. Cleanest line in the country for new. It’s a full strength, no nonsense typical Aussie pigs ear. Blokes looking for a personality or a golden circle convention should steer clear. Kind of beer that the bloke with heart burn avoiding his wife wandering the pub for a yarn swears by. A strong white head that follows to the bottom. Best in class Thursday, January 26, 2023

3 Tooheys New 22/10/2022. Can at the Black Anchor Bar, Norfolk Island. Pours clear golden amber with a lasting firm creamy white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, fruit, grain, sweet corn. Medium sweetness and light to moderate bitterness. Moderate body, quite creamy, average carbonation. Bittersweet and just slightly tart metallic finish. Better than I remember it being from previous visits to Australia. Saturday, October 22, 2022

2.6 Kirin Megumi First Press Lager 500ml can. Gold with a 2cm white head. Clean hayish aroma with light spices. Dryish and rather empty where you'd hope there'd be malt. Modest spicy/ weedy bitterness. OK but not a thriller. Sunday, August 14, 2022

3.2 Tooheys New Twist top 375ml bottle from Beers of Europe: BB 30th Nov 2021. Drank at home on 20th August 2021. Golden pour, decent head. I thought this OK, certainly not as bad as I was expecting. Pleasant blend of light hops and semi-sweet malts. Nothing exciting or world beating, but it's a lot better than the average score it's got on RateBeer. Saturday, August 21, 2021

2.6 Tooheys Extra Dry (TED) Clear 345ml bottle from Beers of Europe: BB 15th Oct 2021. Drank at home on 1st Aug 2021. Clean and clear golden body, white head. malty front I suppose, not much actually going on, but it wasn't unpleasant, just a tad bland. Sunday, August 1, 2021

2.6 Tooheys Extra Dry (TED) 330ml bottle purchased to tick off New South Wales as a region but not expecting much from this lager. Pours dark clear gold, small white head, decent retention. Malty sweet aroma, not much hops detectable. Sweetened malts with a apple fruity yeast note, very slight grassy hops. There is a decent lager low-calorie malt base here but very little hop profile to elevate it even for the style. Below average but a touch underrated on here I feel. Wednesday, April 28, 2021

1.6 Tooheys Extra Dry (TED) It was inexplicable how popular this beer was when i was 18. That was 13 years ago. It should have stayed in my teens with pimples, Sean William Scott movies and my learners licence. Also, calling it TED now rather that Tooheys Extra Dry is about as sad an attempt to relive the glory days as 25 year olds attending Schoolies, and Shaggy continuing to tour. 0.8 Tooheys New 750ml bottle from Morrison’s, Hatch End and drunk on 17/04/2006. Crikey, this is a bad beer, even by macro, pale lager standards. What minimal flavour there was was metallic and chemically and just unpleasant. Horribly overcarbonated too. Sunday, January 5, 2020

2 Tooheys Extra Dry (TED) This was the "go to beer" when i was in my late teens and early 20's and i used to love it. 20yrs later i decided to try it again and was disappointed. It has a beautiful head and a nice golden colour but the taste........it tastes like dishwashing liquid and gives me headaches, indigestion and the worst hangover i've ever had.
