jbruner	3.7 Regal Lager Pours a clear pale yellow on cask with dense white foam that leaves great lace. Aroma of light biscuit malt and clean grassy hops, a hint of sulfur. Taste is light sweetness, clean light bitterness, crisp and clean. A little weird having it warm on cask, but nice beer. Tuesday, August 2, 2022

TedE	2.7 Six Stars Breweries Platinum Blonde 330ml bottle into schooner glass. Brewed & bottled for Pinnacle liquor but identical otherwise. Aroma of stale bread and distant malt. Golden amber beer with fast disappearing head. Zingy in the mouth with initial bitterness. Finish has slight maltiness followed by tinny hops. Not bad for a ’supermarket’ beer. MRMedellin	2.2 Six Stars Breweries Platinum Blonde Actually is not as bad as I thought when I read the label. It pours a clear dark yellow beer, small head, standard carbonation, with some grass and cereal notes. Kita	2 Haägen Premium Blonde Bottle, 0.33l. Clear deep golden color with small fully diminishing white head and average sparkling appearance. Aroma is grassy, grainy and bready. Taste starts with light sweet maltiness, following is vegetably, mouthfeel is dry, while finish is light bitter. Light body, thin texture and soft carbonation in palate. Another poor lager... Maris	1.3 Six Stars Breweries Platinum Blonde From a 330ml bottle on 11/8/2013. Pours a clear bright golden with a small head. Has a slight grassy, grainy aroma. The flavour features a little sweet malt followed by a common macro metallic hop bitterness. Has a light body and medium carbonation. Actually a bit better than I was expecting for a low carb beer, but still quite horrible. I can’t think why anyone would want to drink this type of gear on a regular basis. Saturday, August 10, 2013

mkel07	1.9 Bugle Bay Premium Bitter 375ml can. This is an old rating from 2010 that I found when I was going through my beer journals. The beer was brewed for Aldi stores and was only available in Victoria. Bright almost orange colour with a pillowy cotton wool white foam. Grain and hop aromas that lead to mild bitterness. ALLOVATE	2.1 Six Stars Breweries Platinum Blonde ’Vienna’ bwooohahaha. Anyways.... Orange gold and bright with sodapop carbonation. Well retained, sudsy, snow-white head manages some good legs. Nose is dominated by staling hops and fresh mown grass with a hint of sour malt, fairy floss and straw. Carbonic bite upfront inside before becoming dull and flat in the back. A little cardboard, a little straw, light grass and sour edge, watery and thin in general. Dry crisp finish to its merit. Lacks definition or at least, at least, flavour. Average lawn mower beer. ComradeK	1.4 Three Kings Cider 330ml bottle. Pours a ridiculously pale clear yellow, with, of course, no head. The prevalent aroma is, bizarrely enough, washing powder. Weird, but there you go. It tastes of artificial lemon to begin, with some very sweet apple coming in afterwards, and a slightly too alcoholic finish. The palate falls into the sweet and cloying trap. Blockley	2.3 Three Kings Cider Bottle @ home A premium cider this is not. Pours a highly effervescent clear straw colour, no head. Nose is muted sweet apples. The strong carbonation masks most of the flavour, what is left is acidic and sweet. No noticeable aftertaste. ComradeK	2.5 Snowies Blonde Cider 330ml bottle. Pours a ridiculously pale straw yellow, with, as expected of a cider, no head. The aroma is quite sweet, mixing apple and a hint of cane sugar, but is acceptable enough. The taste, too, is very sweet, doubtless due to the apple varieties used, which are largely sweet table varieties, not proper cider apples. The finish has the merest trace of lemon. This (very) blonde cider, whilst not dreadful, and certainly not the worst I’ve tasted, is far too sweet for a proper cider, in my opinion. However, I would consider it passable on the whole. ComradeK	0.5 Cruiser Apparella Dolce Cider 275ml bottle. As with that dreadful Cruiser lager, I was merely sampling some of a friend’s, not actually buying my own. The aroma is pretty well non-existent. What is there is sweet, artificial and cloying, as might be expected from a cider of this ilk. The taste is much the same: almost entirely absent, and limited to sweet, artificial apple. Still, this is hardly surprising, given that this is a macro cider made for the sort of people who enjoy the flavour-free zone that is a Vodka Cruiser. ComradeK	0.5 Cruiser Hummingbird Blonde Lager 275ml bottle. I feel ashamed to admit that I have tasted this swill. In my defence, I didn’t actually buy it, just tried a bit of a friend’s. Smells of nothing pleasant, maybe some artificial chemical aromas and stale malt. It tastes bland and insipid. I didn’t realise there was added grapefruit, but it does explain the unusual and exceptionally unpleasant aftertaste. Not only is this monstrosity, brewed by the same people who bought you Vodka Cruisers, the classic lollywater alcopop, an insult to the name of beer, it is even an insult to the name of pale lager. Dredd	2.2 Cruiser Hummingbird Blonde Lager I think this is a lot better than what I expected, it pours golden yellow with thin white head. Citris aroma and upfront palate, this moves to a bit of a watery mid palate and finishes clean. I think the biggest handicap this beer has is being wrapped in the cruiser packaging. One shade darker than water but at least it smells better than it looks with passionfruit aromas coming through strongly. Davros	2.2 Six Stars Breweries Platinum Blonde I was pleasantly surprised while rating this, as it seemed no where near as horrible as I remembered. Perhaps leaving it in a cupboard for 4 months improved it... Pale amber, white head dissipates to thin layer rapidly. Aroma is of weak grainy malt, with a very slight floral hops hint. Not so pleasant solvent notes, as well as the expected skunk. Very mild malt taste, with watery cloying finish that has next to no bitterness.
