3.7 Regal Lager Pours a clear pale yellow on cask with dense white foam that leaves great lace. Aroma of light biscuit malt and clean grassy hops, a hint of sulfur. Taste is light sweetness, clean light bitterness, crisp and clean. A little weird having it warm on cask, but nice beer. Tuesday, August 2, 2022

2.7 Six Stars Breweries Platinum Blonde 330ml bottle into schooner glass. Brewed & bottled for Pinnacle liquor but identical otherwise. Aroma of stale bread and distant malt. Golden amber beer with fast disappearing head. Zingy in the mouth with initial bitterness. Finish has slight maltiness followed by tinny hops. Not bad for a ’supermarket’ beer. 3.1 Six Stars Breweries Platinum Blonde Stale and slightly fruity aroma. Clear golden colour with poor head. Fruity up front with honey finish. Light body with medium carbonation. Tuesday, July 15, 2014

2.2 Six Stars Breweries Platinum Blonde Actually is not as bad as I thought when I read the label. It pours a clear dark yellow beer, small head, standard carbonation, with some grass and cereal notes. Flavor is dominated by malt flavors, not too much bitterness from the hops with a crisp and flat flavor at the end. Tuesday, April 15, 2014

2 Haägen Premium Blonde Bottle, 0.33l. Clear deep golden color with small fully diminishing white head and average sparkling appearance. Aroma is grassy, grainy and bready. Taste starts with light sweet maltiness, following is vegetably, mouthfeel is dry, while finish is light bitter. Light body, thin texture and soft carbonation in palate. Another poor lager... 1.3 Six Stars Breweries Platinum Blonde From a 330ml bottle on 11/8/2013. Pours a clear bright golden with a small head. Has a slight grassy, grainy aroma. The flavour features a little sweet malt followed by a common macro metallic hop bitterness. Has a light body and medium carbonation. Actually a bit better than I was expecting for a low carb beer, but still quite horrible. I can’t think why anyone would want to drink this type of gear on a regular basis. 1.9 Bugle Bay Premium Bitter 375ml can. This is an old rating from 2010 that I found when I was going through my beer journals. The beer was brewed for Aldi stores and was only available in Victoria. Bright almost orange colour with a pillowy cotton wool white foam. Grain and hop aromas that lead to mild bitterness. Monday, January 7, 2013

2.1 Six Stars Breweries Platinum Blonde ’Vienna’ bwooohahaha. Anyways.... Orange gold and bright with sodapop carbonation. Well retained, sudsy, snow-white head manages some good legs. Nose is dominated by staling hops and fresh mown grass with a hint of sour malt, fairy floss and straw. Carbonic bite upfront inside before becoming dull and flat in the back. A little cardboard, a little straw, light grass and sour edge, watery and thin in general. Dry crisp finish to its merit. Lacks definition or at least, at least, flavour. Average lawn mower beer. 1.4 Three Kings Dry Lager One time, I can remember waking up in a strange place with a disgusting hangover wondering how I got there... rather than take in the pain of the situation, I rolled over and drank the first thing I saw and it wasn’t much different to the delightfully lacking Three Kings. It must be mentioned that the first thing I saw was an ash tray that had held some beer spillage from the night before. DONT INSULT YOUR TASTE BUDS WITH THIS TRIPE Monday, May 23, 2011

3.5 Three Kings Dry Lager nice crisp dry taste. Beautiful in appearance if your looking to find a "extra dry" beer with more flavour and less watery tasting this is it. Saturday, May 14, 2011

1.7 Snowies Blonde Cider 330ml boittle. Like most ciders this one pours a light ghostly translucent straw colour without any head at all. Clear as water with the crisp tart aroma of granny smith apples and a flavour to match. Thin and watery . Thursday, April 21, 2011

1.2 Three Kings Dry Lager 330ml bottle. Very poor looking in the glass with an opaque pale straw colour and a dishwater head. Aimed at the young trendy crowd with it’s black bottle and marketing approach. Malty grain aroma that is basic at best and a light dry flavour. Sunday, February 6, 2011

2 Three Kings Dry Lager Bottle. Pours a very clear straw with smallish white head. Aromas pretty bland as expected. Some grassy hops and corn. Not looking good. Flavours are initially quite sweet. Dry finish. Not that great Monday, January 3, 2011

2 Three Kings Dry Lager It is good to remind myself every now and then why I don’t really like pale lagers fortunately I didn’t pay for this. Clear pale golden body with no head, corn notes on the aroma with the taste a little metallic but not much else. Sunday, December 19, 2010

2.5 Three Kings Dry Lager Bottle. Poured clear straw, no head. Grassy / vege aroma. Light body, medium carbonation. Bread / grain foretaste with a lemony tartish finish. It would be OK if you were thirsty and there wasn’t anything else, but not if you want a good beer. Sunday, December 19, 2010

1.4 Three Kings Cider 330ml bottle. Pours a ridiculously pale clear yellow, with, of course, no head. The prevalent aroma is, bizarrely enough, washing powder. Weird, but there you go. It tastes of artificial lemon to begin, with some very sweet apple coming in afterwards, and a slightly too alcoholic finish. The palate falls into the sweet and cloying trap. A poor, paint by numbers, cider. Not worth trying. Tuesday, December 14, 2010

2.3 Three Kings Cider Bottle @ home A premium cider this is not. Pours a highly effervescent clear straw colour, no head. Nose is muted sweet apples. The strong carbonation masks most of the flavour, what is left is acidic and sweet. No noticeable aftertaste. Nothing impressive here but considering the horrifying other products from the same brewer/brand this mediocre cider is actually rather remarkable. Tuesday, December 7, 2010

1.9 Three Kings Dry Lager Clear gold pour good head medium strong carbonation aroma rubbery grassy malt sweeetness flavour sweet grassy has a fruity hop taste metallic touch to it very sweet hard to swallow this beer has a bitter like aspirin it is really an American Pale Lager have told Rate Beer but the aftertaste is not good more metallic than anything and sweet with a terrible bitter taste Sunday, December 5, 2010

2.5 Snowies Blonde Cider 330ml bottle. Pours a ridiculously pale straw yellow, with, as expected of a cider, no head. The aroma is quite sweet, mixing apple and a hint of cane sugar, but is acceptable enough. The taste, too, is very sweet, doubtless due to the apple varieties used, which are largely sweet table varieties, not proper cider apples. The finish has the merest trace of lemon. This (very) blonde cider, whilst not dreadful, and certainly not the worst I’ve tasted, is far too sweet for a proper cider, in my opinion. However, I would consider it passable on the whole. 0.5 Cruiser Apparella Dolce Cider 275ml bottle. As with that dreadful Cruiser lager, I was merely sampling some of a friend’s, not actually buying my own. The aroma is pretty well non-existent. What is there is sweet, artificial and cloying, as might be expected from a cider of this ilk. The taste is much the same: almost entirely absent, and limited to sweet, artificial apple. Still, this is hardly surprising, given that this is a macro cider made for the sort of people who enjoy the flavour-free zone that is a Vodka Cruiser. Absolute and utter rubbish, I strongly recommend that you avoid this. Monday, August 9, 2010

0.5 Cruiser Hummingbird Blonde Lager 275ml bottle. I feel ashamed to admit that I have tasted this swill. In my defence, I didn’t actually buy it, just tried a bit of a friend’s. Smells of nothing pleasant, maybe some artificial chemical aromas and stale malt. It tastes bland and insipid. I didn’t realise there was added grapefruit, but it does explain the unusual and exceptionally unpleasant aftertaste. Not only is this monstrosity, brewed by the same people who bought you Vodka Cruisers, the classic lollywater alcopop, an insult to the name of beer, it is even an insult to the name of pale lager. Avoid it at all costs. Wednesday, August 4, 2010

2.2 Cruiser Hummingbird Blonde Lager I think this is a lot better than what I expected, it pours golden yellow with thin white head. Citris aroma and upfront palate, this moves to a bit of a watery mid palate and finishes clean. I think the biggest handicap this beer has is being wrapped in the cruiser packaging. No worse than any of the other aussie blonde’s on the market Thursday, July 8, 2010

1 Cruiser Hummingbird Blonde Lager Clear bottle. Sickly pale pour with a poor fizzy head. Citrus aroma. Offensively tangy on the tongue with "off fruit" bitter aftertaste. Very thin and bland beer. Disappointing. Sunday, June 13, 2010

1 Six Stars Breweries Platinum Blonde 330ml bottle. Thin, watery and golden in colour with a modest head that disappears quickly. Offensive skunky aroma of grain and malt. Tastes as bas as it smells. Again low carb equals low flavour. Saturday, February 27, 2010

0.9 Cruiser Hummingbird Blonde Lager 275ml bottle. Clear with a white head consisting of tiny bubbles. One shade darker than water but at least it smells better than it looks with passionfruit aromas coming through strongly. It is a bit like a soft drink and with such a strong passionfruit aroma I expected more flavour, very dissappointing. Saturday, January 23, 2010

2.3 Cruiser Hummingbird Blonde Lager Clear pale yellow body with white head. Sweet grapefruit in the aroma and in the taste, doesn’t taste much like a lager but I think thats the point. Sunday, January 17, 2010

1.5 Cruiser Hummingbird Blonde Lager Bottle. No passionfruit version. Not my thing at all. Aroma is light straw. Flavour is sweet, with a dry finish. Watery and thin in the palate. Yellow, with a frothy white head. Saturday, November 28, 2009

2.2 Six Stars Breweries Platinum Blonde Bottle - another generic low carb beer, did think it was better than some. Flavour was light malt and there was a bit of hop present, which is not what you get with a lot of these! Sunday, November 1, 2009

1 Cuba 59 ...well, basically a Mexican with a sombrero on. His piss. I think this goes into the fake corona category, thin, weak, skunky and metallic aftertaste. Oh well, it was $10 for six. Wednesday, July 29, 2009

2.1 Six Stars Breweries Platinum Blonde Bottle. Another "low-carb" gimmick beer. Deep golden, big white head. Skunky euro-hop aroma. Simple pale malt profile, a little appley. Short clean finish. I didn’t suffer through this, but not enough here to come back to. And really, what the hell is the point of low-carb beer? COME ON MAN! Monday, April 20, 2009

0.9 Cuba 59 Poured a pale bright yellow, head lasted about 10 seconds before retiring. Light citrus nose with a faint sweet citrus (yes and some soap) flavour - very thin body, reasonable carbonation. Meh. Monday, April 13, 2009

2.2 Six Stars Breweries Platinum Blonde I was pleasantly surprised while rating this, as it seemed no where near as horrible as I remembered. Perhaps leaving it in a cupboard for 4 months improved it... Pale amber, white head dissipates to thin layer rapidly. Aroma is of weak grainy malt, with a very slight floral hops hint. Not so pleasant solvent notes, as well as the expected skunk. Very mild malt taste, with watery cloying finish that has next to no bitterness. Very watery, but what would you expect from a pale lager. Friday, March 20, 2009

1.1 Haägen Gold 330ml bottle. Poured a very thin pale yellow with absolutely no head at all. There was very little aroma to speak of and the taste was watery and thin - no substance to this beer at all. Thursday, January 15, 2009

1.5 Cuba 59 I was expecting a little slice of Havana in this. Instead it is another average beer by our friends at Independent Breweries. Pour is yellow/amber body, literally no head. Flavour is sweetness, citrus and a slight bittering finish. This is really aimed as a low cost Corona, just plain ordinary. Saturday, December 20, 2008
