3.3 Brunswick Caramild Handpull cask at the Old Horse, Leicester. Golden brown and clear with a thin off-white head. Very light aroma, some dusting of chocolate malt but that is about it. Lovely taste though: sweet and malt-led with some Ovaltine followed by gently bitter hops in the finish. Some treacle and golden syrup in the aftertaste. Light body with soft carbonation. Not much to it but it's a mild innit so that's kind of the point. I enjoyed it. Thursday, May 5, 2022

3.2 Brunswick Rocket Cask at the brewery. Pours a pale gold with minimal white head. There’s marmalade and lemongrass in the aroma, plus some hints of malts. In the mouth it is sharp and tangy but with an overall juicy sweetness. Not quite sure what to make of this one – but in the end I think the good features outweighed the bad. Definitely an IPA not a pale (maybe a Session IPA?) Sunday, February 27, 2022
