Bottled. Sweet malt dominates the aroma, golden coloured lager, tastes of blackcurrant Chewits predominantely, the sweetness fades into a pleasant bitter finish. Quite Germanic in style, interesting and a bit of a departure taste-wise from their beers

Cask at the Farmers Arms, Ulverston. Copper and clear, with a small white head. Malt, apricot and a hint of ammonia in the bouquet. A big malt hit in the taste, with fruity notes: I’m getting guava and maybe quince. It’s not really my kind of beer, but I got on all right with it.

Cask, Kings Head, Carlisle. A rare cask outing for this winter brew. Toffee & caramel aromas lead to a lovely soft smooth palate. Traces of chocolate and berries on the tongue, giving a medium dry finish. At 5.6% the strength is subtle, some late warmth. A rounded, very well made beer.
