[Munich 2018] Thanks to Jonas! 330 ml. bottle. 2005 Vintage. Apparently this needed a lot of age & it was undrinkable fresh. Dark brown amber, no head obv. Nose is extremely cloying oxidized malt syrup. Taste is insanely sweet, baffling cloying sweetness overpowers the oxidation which still lingers in the finish, alcoholic syrup, sugar, caramel, orange, cough syrup,… Great but only in very small quantities, too much cloyingness but otherwise it wouldn’t work I think.

Black/brown color. Sweet malty aroma, huge malt ball vanilla flavor, very smooth. Almost no hops. This would be amazing with any kind of vanilla dessert. Wow, try it if you can!

Mühlfelder Helles (-2015)
Draught at the brauhaus
Cloudy blond color with compact head. The aroma is grassy, nice, but not much malt. Initially there is some flavor of sweetish cereally malt, drier in the end, with light grassy hops, correct bitterness.
It’s a nice and delicate Helles, balanced, well made overall!

Test vom 29.4.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,2,3,2,11,2 - 3,20

Mühlfelder Weizenbock
1l-bottle from the brewery. Cloudy pale yellow colour, large and creamy white head. Fruity aroma with yeast and banana. Rather light-bodied for the style and strength. Shy malty base, quite yeasty with good fruity flavours, mainly banana. Quite hoppy in the lingering finish, adding an unexpected bitter punch at the and. Interesting, unusual but delicious interpretation of the style.

As Schwartzbier, @ brauhaus. Ruby-tinted dark brown, thick head is tight, stable, but aerated. Aroma has slight diacetyl but also nice dark bready malts. Soft palate with nice juicy carbonation. Dark, dry malts shine. There is a good dose of caramel, dark sugar, and date pudding. Not bad.

Mühlfelder Stärkstes Bier der Welt
Cloudy amberish with too much debris. Aroma of maple ham or bacon, alcohol, brown sugar, old wood, burnt toffee, stale grains- savory and a bit weird, challenging. Flavor is richly sweet with cinnamon, honey, cereal, old wood, stale grains, maple, alcohol, generic spice. A dessert drink for sure. Full body, rich, viscous. Interesting, but not my style. From notes.

Hazy brown and viscous. Huge malt aroma isn’t anything special, more like unhopped extract. Chewy, with a chocolate accent. Super thick - tastes and feels not unlike mumme, which isn’t even fermented. More interesting than anything else.

Mühlfelder Stärkstes Bier der Welt
Bottled, 2006 vintage, thanks Joss! Viscous nut brown, absolutely no head. Aroma of malt syrup and raisin. Sweet and very thick, I mean thick like chewing gum. Though still overy sweet it has started to develope madeira like raisiny flavours like mature prunes. Still at this point it remains mostly a sickly sweet mess, but in another 5-10 years it may actually be something worth actively searching out.

2006 Bottle, shared by Jonas! Flat thick and rich brown color. Rich mincemeat dessert aromas, like a flourless cake made with dates and figs. Thick sweet silky palate. the flavors are much sweeter than the aromas let on with too much sugar for me, but the flavors are still well-constructed. Not so complex but I like it.

Thanks for this great trade, yespr! The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass almost black, no head. Starts very, very sweet, oily, like glue, very scratchy and warming finish. Wouldn’t guess is has 25% ABV. But the beer is not really enjoyable.

Mühlfelder Stärkstes Bier der Welt
Pours still, a crazy layered brown and burgundy concoction with a clear and oily exterior; a ridiculous, just ludicrous amount of sugar-particle-appearing sediment. The visible residual sugar is astonishing. The visible yeast particulates are scattered and plentiful. The aroma gets progressively more appalling with each timid inhalation. Pummeling notes of brown sugar, honey-baked hams, rocket fuel, tongue-curling levels of butterscotch, a just-extinguished barbeque grill, huge smokiness, tart German malts, sherry undertones, caramel extract in a concentrated and de-sweetened formulaic and scary expression - breakfast by the campfire in the Yukon with bears on the prowl, cinnamon, rotting berries and honey. Absolutely astonishing, confusing and whimsical while forceful enough to be certain this is as powerful as the hand-written label claims it is. The flavor is better than the absurd aroma. Cinnamon is the dominant spice. The closest taste association I can extract is this: pour an entire jar of honey on a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, let it sit in milk for an hour, remove the mushy cereal remnants from the milk and drink the remainder. Sweetness is so high it’s unchartable. Bitterness is low. Acidity is overwhelming, but acids themselves are overwhelmed by gargantuan sweet notes, resulting in an awkward sense of balance in a most extreme expression. The finish is sweet and sticky, caramel and honey notes lingering, smoke as well. The mouthfeel is full bodied, thick and syrupy. Each of these is the most hardcore I’ve yet experienced in a beer, or whatever this is now. Carbonation is almost nonexistent. Alcohol warmth is not as profound as expected but it’s inevitable glow on the way down is undeniable. The sum of the parts is much more enticing than the individual characteristics, thus the higher overall score. This, despite numerous mental scars inflicted due to such a callous nature and unforgiving, relentless personality, is a wildly fun experience. It’s also an experience I won’t likely repeat. Crazy, defined.

Bottle shared by boboski: Pours a still, murky muddled mess with a lot of dense, yet bouyant sediment. In other words, the body is too thick for the yeast to settle out. Aroma of rich caramely maple, butterscotch and a lot of alcohol fumes with some doppelbock character and fruity esters with some honey graham cracker notes. First sip is of the thickest beer I’ve ever had, with a ridiculous amount of residual sugar and honey, cinnamon and maple syrup. This would make a good ice cream topping. Probably the most extreme "beer" I’ve ever had. Very unique and complex, but also cloying and over the top. Unfortunately, it’s not actually the strongest beer in the world.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a rim of head. The aroma is sweet with a light notice of alcohol. The flavor is very sweet - I find it an odd sweetness - with notes of sirup, thick caramel, and a slight acidity. The alcohol only shows off with a slight burn in the throat, but surprisingly subdued.
