Greenwich Harvest Berry Ale
Sampled at the New York brewpub 16th Dec 2005, is this the one with blueberries in? if it is then this is the one that I had. Refreshing beer that tastes fine but is hardly exciting.

Greenwich Fall Amber Lager
Sampled at the brewpub in New York 16th Dec 2005. Pale in colour with a large head some hops present, not a bad beer but nothing great.

Greenwich Hefe
Draught in New York. Golden colour, slight hazy. No head. Served way too cold. Citrusy lager feel to it. Mouthfeel is thin, too much of Co2. No banana, slight estery fruitiness.

Greenwich Pilsner
Draught in New York. Very pale yellow. Snappy, papery bitterness dominates. Also bit floral. This is a German Style Pils with maize notes. Crisp but boring.

Greenwich Stout
it´s generally a pretty safe bet that at a below-average brewpub they can at least make a decent stout. this was decent but no better. espresso and nutrasweet aroma, quite thin, reasonably dry but easy drinking

Greenwich Pale/ESB
i dunno how something can be a pale/esb. amber, mild peach nectar aroma, reasonable bitterness at least and a pleasant firmness

Greenwich Buzzing Blonde Ale
very pale and low in flavour except for some stale weet bix. really genuinely boring

Greenwich Pilsner
the only style american brewers seem to have less idea with than hefeweizens is pilsners. this was so sweet, slightly citric, and tasted like melted lemonade iceblocks. why do american brewers make so many bitter beers but forget about bitterness when they´re making pilsners? the mind boggles

Greenwich Hefe
i really would like to taste a good american wheat some day. i dunno how they can call this a hefe. flat, lemon aroma, some wheat syrup taste and detergent finish

Greenwich Pale/ESB
Strange beer. Cork taste, it could be a 125 years old lambic with too much hop. A bit rotten and cloying. However it looks nice.

Greenwich Summer Beer
A rather metallic american wheat from the sad, sad brewery on 6th Ave @ 9th St. It makes me want to cry when I visit this place and their beers change about as often as the U.S. changes it’s Chairman of the Federal Reserve.

Greenwich Fall Amber Lager
Greenwich serves a new beer about twice a year, so it's a big deal if you live nearby, as I do. Very mildly hopped and light, so don't go expecting a hopfest. Otherwise, it had a large frothy head and was a relatively uncomplicated session lager.

Greenwich Harvest Berry Ale
I'm such a sucker for a fruit beer. A bit heavily carbonated, but otherwise a basic brewpub fruit beer nicely done.

Greenwich Stout
Rather more watery than oily in appearance, 85% opaque (low for style), unusual aroma. Smoke notes in flavor with obvious malt base--good texture but not especially chewy.

Greenwich Pale/ESB
A very gentle pale ale, not so much of an ESB. Slight bitterness lingering. Heck, really this is just a plain ol' beer with a little food coloring. Almost the definition of "average American beer".

Greenwich Roaring Red Ale
Fruit aroma (grape, cherry). Drinkable--one of the better beers (relative to style) brewed at Chelsea Brewing Co. Deeper and slightly darker than I would expect of the style. What a red should be--a bit of something for the inexperienced beer drinker looking for a session beer.

Greenwich Pilsner
It has an aroma, even if it is of wet cardboard, raw chicken, and sausage casings. Flavor not much different. At least it wasn't overcarbonated.

Greenwich Hefe
Lemon aroma, even after the lemon was taken off my glass. Hazy, juice-like colors--quality. Fruit juice with a head. Flavor less entrancing. Not offensive, but dull, with a bit of bitterness. Too bad the flavor was so disappointing.

Greenwich Buzzing Blonde Ale
Lager color, gets a good head. Light aroma. "Blonde" is a deceptive label--it covers everything from insipid swill like this to Westvelteren's Blond.

Greenwich Pumpkin Ale
This Greenwich Brewing Co. has been hit-or-miss, but this beer's a hit! This Pumpkin Ale has little aroma and the taste is of a spicy pumpkin pie. A real flavor 'punch in the face' if you like the gourd pies and such. In October pumpkin ales seem to rule the roost, and I'm a 'When in Rome' kinda guy, so I drink 'em cuz they're just plain fun. This one's got twice the punch of Buffalo Bill's pumpkin ale.

Sharp and fairly crisp. This is a muted Euro-style pilsner that lacks in bitterness. Nice.

Greenwich Hefe
A wheat in the American style that''s halfway to a German hefe. Its darkness and bitterness makes it clearly of the American variety.

Shockingly bitter and out-of-balance. Like Dogfish Head 90-minute IPA. The aftertaste punishment lingers for quite awhile.

Sweet and slightly bitter. This reminds me of Mackeson''s. Thin head. Lightly roasted.

Greenwich Buzzing Blonde Ale
This is a typical Blond Ale. It is nothing exceptional. Although the first time I sampled it, the beer was incredibly wheaty/yeasty, the subsequent two times have yielded an ordinary Blond Ale that's not worthy of further comment. Contract brewed by Chelsea Brewing. It is likely very much like Chelsea's Checker Cab Blonde Ale.
