Ottos Cork & Cage Series: Breba
Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a murky brown color with a small foamy off-white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was a bit tart and tangy with notes of apple, pear and caramel. The flavor was toffee and caramel with tart pear, cherry and fig. Long finish with a hint of booziness. Medium body. Pleasant.

On tap at Otto’s. Boozy hoppy aroma, but not overpowering. Peach and pine resin. Hazy golden-light amber with creamy lacing white head. Medium-heavy body with medium creamy carbonation and alcoholic warming. Sweet start with alcohol and big hop flavor and bitterness. Lasting bitterness throughout, with fairly smooth finish with some oak and peach.

Ottos Hefeweizen
Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange body under a frothy one finger white head that faded to a wispy film. The nose is fruity and estery with a light banana and clove note. Not a ton of yeastiness in the aroma. The flavor is similar to the aroma, lighter banana, but heavier on the clove, especially on the finish. Medium bodied and just a little clingy with fizzy active carbonation. Meh, this is decent, but not a great example of the style in the traditional sense.

Pleasant, but the sample I had felt overly carbonated. I love the idea, just wish the beer performed better (I wish for more body and aroma).

Ottos Triple D IPA
Really lovely! I wish they would serve a larger serving of this and the Double - I may order it more frequently! I guess at that ABV, it gets a bit boozy to drink too much of it (but it really is tasty - maybe their best beer on tap!).

Ottos Spruce Creek Lager
This is what my friends order if they don’t want anything terribly heavy or bold-flavored. That should tell you everything you need to know! Drinkable, not bitter, smooth, grainy.

Ottos Mt. Nittany Pale Ale
It’s fine... nothing wrong with it, just not very memorable. It’s a standard pale ale and I wish the hops were a bit more pronounced. I’m forgetting if I have had this on tap at Otto’s perhaps that would be a better experience than in the bottle.

Bottle at the brewery. Light sweet malty aroma with caramel and fig. Alcohol, plums. Fruity and earthy spices. Coppery amber-dark clear with light haze, topped with thin off-white head. Medium body with effervescent carbonation. Starts sweet with lots of candi sugar and fig, caramel and plum, and a bit of carbonic tang. Very little bitterness. Like a Belgian dubbel or dark BSA.

Pours muddled copper orange with a one finger off white head with decent lacing. Aroma is of floral hops, sweet malts, light citrus, light pine, grassy hops, and caramel. Taste is about the same as the aroma. Has a medium body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a semi bitter, medium-long finish. Overall, a decently tasty east coast IPA that might be a tad too sweet.
