Otto’s Pub & Brewery Reviews

Ottos PAPA 3.3
Pleasant, but the sample I had felt overly carbonated. I love the idea, just wish the beer performed better (I wish for more body and aroma).

Ottos Triple D IPA 4.1
Really lovely! I wish they would serve a larger serving of this and the Double - I may order it more frequently! I guess at that ABV, it gets a bit boozy to drink too much of it (but it really is tasty - maybe their best beer on tap!).

Ottos Spruce Creek Lager 3.4
This is what my friends order if they don’t want anything terribly heavy or bold-flavored. That should tell you everything you need to know! Drinkable, not bitter, smooth, grainy.

Ottos Mt. Nittany Pale Ale 3.2
It’s fine... nothing wrong with it, just not very memorable. It’s a standard pale ale and I wish the hops were a bit more pronounced. I’m forgetting if I have had this on tap at Otto’s perhaps that would be a better experience than in the bottle.

Bottle at the brewery. Light sweet malty aroma with caramel and fig. Alcohol, plums. Fruity and earthy spices. Coppery amber-dark clear with light haze, topped with thin off-white head. Medium body with effervescent carbonation. Starts sweet with lots of candi sugar and fig, caramel and plum, and a bit of carbonic tang. Very little bitterness. Like a Belgian dubbel or dark BSA.

Hands down this is one of the best imperial stouts I've ever had. Huge roasted flavors with the look and feel that puts it over the top. If you are lucky enough to live close to this brewery, buy some now. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured an orange-caramel color with a large fluffy orange-white head that lingered forever and left good lacing. The aroma was citrus, pine and sharp floral hops. The flavor was bitter with toffee, tobacco, fruity & floral hops and an odd sour almost musty undertone. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.

Pours muddled copper orange with a one finger off white head with decent lacing. Aroma is of floral hops, sweet malts, light citrus, light pine, grassy hops, and caramel. Taste is about the same as the aroma. Has a medium body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a semi bitter, medium-long finish. Overall, a decently tasty east coast IPA that might be a tad too sweet.
