Appearance :
Top: warning my sample had gushing top. Soft creamy white head.
Base: dark gold with amber, hazy, cloudy.
Palate : medium- medium full bodied. Soft, velvety with delicate approach. Long finish.
Taste: simply superb. Frontal does of hops, well constructed elements coming from wheat malts and weizen yeast. Semi dry execution. Soft delicate refined set up.

500 ml bottle at a restaurant, bottled 15.12.15.
Brown, cloudy body, with a massive, stabel, fluffy, light beige head.
Aroma of bread, bubblegum, ripe banana, dried fruits, spices, some toast.
Tastes of bread, chocolate, spices, banana, orange, bubblegum, dried fruits, some toast, subtle hops.
Medium, slightly oily mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes quite dry, a bit bitter, spicy, bready, fruity, a bit hoppy.

Very nice. A classic, but also a bit unique style example, inbetween a normal Weizen and a Dunkelweizen. Very well balanced and manifold, with the typical fruits and spices, but also some chocolate and subtle toasty notes. One of my favourite Hefeweizens!

0,75lt bottle @ Valentin - Curious Bierkneipe, Volos, Greece It has not to be the hop-bomb. And it isn’t. Very fruity aroma and some citrus (reminds me the TAP5 Meine Hopfenweisse, only less strong) - the taste is also fruity and easy with some apple, grapes and again in the background the hops, balancing the wheatbeer. You won’t get that weizen-feeling with it’s yeast (also it’s sweet and reminds of course the Schneider Brewery wheatbeers), but that’s the point. Yellow to dark yellow color, very nice white head with a lot of small bubbles but it last not for long, the same for the aftertaste. Much carbonation, but it fits the style and the summer feeling it leaves.

Pours dark with an aggressive head, which quite quickly settles. Strong coffee aroma and roasted malts. A hint of plumbs and some sweet honey notes in the aroma as well. Strong sweet first impression, followed by a very strong and with a more aggressive CO2 level pronounced roasted feel. Full mouth taste. An excellent body, which gives way to a slightly bitter finish through roastiness. The feeling you are left with when drinking this beer is... Being full :)

Big bottle poured into a 19 oz. pilsner glass. Lovely, cloudy yellow redolent of yeast and wheat. This is a wonderful, full bodied, high ABV and hoppy wheat beer. True enough, it has a bit of the dreaded banana flavor, but also malt, citrus and a mild spiciness. ’Spic(K)iness? Damn spell checker gave me an error on ’spicieness’ and ’spicyness’, either of which seem prefferable to spiciness. And damn it, I like 2 ’ff’s in prefferable. Homogenized piffle! In any event, this is one of the finest weisse style brews I’ve ever had, showing a slight, but excellent cross-breeding of the traditional stlye with a bit of crafty hopping. On my ’A’ list.

Bottle. 7.0%. Best before 02.01.16; 1 month past. Pours a dense, dark reddish brown with a fluffy, tan head. Heavy, malty and dark fruit aroma; plums, light raisins, and with a light sour overtone. Hints of pepper as it warms. Flavour is sweet with a sugary hint. Dark fruits, plums. Remote note of pepper. Bitter finish, with a light alcohol burn, lingering, followed by a grassy/apple note. Juicy hint as it warms. A wee bit too much carbonation. Overall pretty good and well-balanced. 02.02.16.

Cloudy ochre, tall dense head leaving a thick film on beer. Aroma of nectar, honey, tropical fruit, melon, blossom. Great. Medium to full body. Oily. The flavour combines the labour of american hops with fruity & spicy yeastiness. Very like a strong wheat IPA. Still it remains a Hefe in profile. An unbeatable thing.

Murky dark brown color with creamy, beige head. Aroma is yeasty with lots of dark fruit character. You still get some of the wheat beer components like banana and clove but also the dried fruits like raisins and dates. Taste starts sweet and slightly boozy with lots of yeast esters. There is some bitterness on the finish and continues in the aftertaste but mostly it’s a sweet, syrupy beer. Body is heavy and quite smooth, with a good amount of carbonation. The alcohol level plus the intense yeast character make the beer feel a bit cloying but overall it’s a nice, complex tasting beer.

750 ml well stored bottle consumed January 2015. Dark brown to black body with a fair beige head. Nice aroma of softly roasted dark malt, caramel, dry fruit and some yeast. Flavor has as expected both elements from a roasted porter and dunkelweisse. Sweet, dark, light roasted malt, dark chocolate, some coffee, caramel, dry fruit, wheat and bubblegum yeast flavor. Moderate in bitterness and otherwise really smooth. Fine balanced full bodied with a long lasting delicious aftertaste. A really nice one.

Très étonnant surtout quand on connait le produit d’origine ! Très acide, quasiment une Rodenbach. Un nez très vinaigre, fond boisé de fut extrêmement perceptible, de belles notes raisineuses. Une bouche très acide, assez noble, des jolies nous fruitées bien vieilles : pomme, cassis/groseille. On ressent énormément les fûts de chêne, c’est même ce qui domine. Au final, un joli produit, assez étonnant de ce qu’on peut en espérer étant donné le style affiché.

Honey, clove, floral & spicy hops in taste. Phenols also present. Light to medium hoppy bitterness. Very smooth. It’s not a typical Hefe. It’s much better than a typical Hefe. Perfect.

Served in teku. Bottled in October 2012. Pours with beige and rocky head, which very quickly reduces to tiny layer. Colour is very intense, dark ruby, very clear. Delicious aroma, lots of dried fruits, raisins, cherry, vanilla, toffe, dark chocolate and hints of woodiness as well as sourness (grapes). Very pleasant and encouraging. Before taste, you feel the power of this beer, its not alcoholic but very heavy. Taste is not disappointing, full of sweet maltiness, cherry, distinct bitterness and very long finish. Its really sticky as well. Great beer, very complex and uncompromising.

Smells like a typical Wheat beer from this brewer. Very sweet and citrus aroma. Pours a slightly cloudy red gold colour. Bits of yeast/sediment are visible. Lots of head that dissapears withing the first few sips. Tastes like a Schneider Weisse beer, only with less aftertaste. Still has that minor harshness on the aftertaste, but not as bad as others. Lots of carbonation. Overall I was very happy with this beer. Easy top drink. Not as fruity as some other Wheat Beers. I will be looking for the 2016. MB The Beer Bearon

Merci à Ju-Lo pour le partage! Cette bière que l’on anticipait ronde, sucrée et liquoreuse s’est avérée être absolument le contraire: acide, légère et complexe! Un liquide brun mi clair à la mousse collante. De douces arômes boisées et profondes de vieilles barriques usées expérimentées et sages. Une quantité importantes de bactéries et de champignons ont dû s’y développer sagement. J’anticipe également un certain sucre de par des arômes fruités de cerises. L’ensemble pourrait ressembler à une Rouge des Flandres, un style qui me plaît beaucoup. Acidité modérée en bouche soutenue par une effervescence dynamique et légère. La cerise fait à nouveau son apparition et confère au liquide un corps certain et une texture plutôt sirupeuse. L’aigreur est présente et profonde. Bien agréable à déguster!

500 ml bottle as “Schneider Weisse Tap 4 Mein Grünes” bought at EG Plus Ltd’s booth during the 13th Hong Kong Food Festival 2015 in HKCEC, Wan Chai.

Looks: Cloudy hazy golden honey colour with a ring of dirt-like yeast sediments; One finger head with white foam which lasted for 2 minutes; Very good sticky lacing and fizzy small carbonation.

Aroma: Very fragment malt, with strong banana, strong vanilla, light pineapples, strong honey, fairly strong wheaty tartness, caramel, light toffee, sugar, strong cloves, spices, bread, strong yeast, light lemon and strong grass.

Taste: Mid to light sweet strong malt, with caramel, floral, strong wheaty tartness, strong molasses, strong phenolic, cloves, strong spices, strong yeast, lemon, strong bitter hops and very sharp grass.

Body: Close to medium body. Thick and smooth palate.

Mouth Feel: Strong maltyness in a rich and smooth background. Strong wheat and tartness. Fruity ester is close to minimal, but malty caramel and floral hops taste abound. Lots of nice sweetness and clovey spices. Not as yesty as most Hefeweiss, but good lemon to round. Very nice!

Hoppiness: Light floral, strong honey, spices, lemon and grass in nose. Much the same but with much stronger grass in taste. Bitterness is strong for a lasting, high astringent bitter sweet finish.

After Taste: Fairly dry. Rich and strong bitter to mouth.

Comments: After Tap 1’s disappointment, this organic Tap 4 really kickass: rich smooth body, strong maltyness, big sweetness and strong Cascade hoppiness in floral and bitter grass. Only a couple steps from being a nice Weizenbock, we need strong Hefeweiss like this one. Lovely!
