Thanks to Travlr! Sampled draft @ ’cause BEER loves FOOD. Black, little tanned head. Nose is werid mushroom roast, sugar, umami, candy, herbal, thick syrupy qualities. Taste is strangely vegetable, molasses, bark, pectin, blue grape syrup, sugar, roots, sugar, herbal syrup. Low molasses, sugar, syrup body. Strange brew but not without merits. Interesting experiment.

Rating #2700. Bottle, vintage 2016 (from beer gonzo). Pours amber with whiteish head. The head stays for a moment. Aroma is bana, bruits, mango, caramel, alcohol, wheat. Flavor is sweet and bitter, fruits, mango, citrus, banana, somewhat juicy. Finish is citric sour, dry bitter with some alcohol. Overall: ok brew, but still disappointing for Schneider (it’s my lowest rated Schneider beer at the moment!).

Draft @ Taphouse CPH. Pours a dark golden color, which is a mix of brown and yellow, with a good head with some retention. The aroma is mostly malts with some apparent phenolic presence, while the taste is surprisingly (albeit mildly) sour and refreshing, carrying notes of fruits and spices. A favorite.

Aroma of wheat and alcohol, yeast and lacquer. Pours a muddy, hazy brown with an off-white, short head that rapidly dissipates. Big flavors of wheat and sourdough with sweet caramel notes and not unpleasant alcohol. Not subtle but pretty balanced. Fizzy mouthfeel and medium to high carbonation. Not my favorite style but its pretty impressive.

Bottle, courtesy of SinH4. Not the first time I’m having this, but the first time rating. Grass and spring-like nose, but the heavy bock is already noticeable. Full body with a creamy soft texture, charming carbonation. Powerful without the ABV becoming too apparent. Sweet palate. Not a beer to drink fast. Good!

50cl bottle. Hazy light golden with a huge white head, couldn’t pour the whole bottle in a reasonable time (but I was dining and I was also very hungry). Aroma is wonderful, typical weizen aroma with added hoppy fruitiness, makes me drool. Taste is also good but somehow less "fresh" with maybe a bit too much sweetness. Pleasant finish, fruity aftertaste, light bitterness. Excellent.

0.5 l bottle from Pivoteka, Zagreb. Shared with Višnja 666, lovely Anja and Goran. Thanks Višnja! Bottle wrapped in paper, with a tag on a string. Brewed in 2012. Pours murky reddish brown, lasting creamy off-white head. Smoky barrel and yeast aromas - banana, vanilla. Sweet, yeasty but then sour with a smoky meat, prosciutto finish. Lasting dry finish, very warming, full body. Simply a great beer, very well made.

I bought this bottle at Drink of the World, Lucerne. I drank it in Bonfol. It is the same version than the Aventinus with a stronger degrees of alcohol and in my opinion even better. The taste is perfect, plum, apricot, malt, sugar, caramel, hop, well balanced and like a syrup. The body is brown and red, low-middle carbonation, white and brown foam. I love it and the best it is to drink this beer with a nice meat.

Igen tartalmas ital, ebben a stílusban jobbat nehezen lehetne alkotni.

At Whole Foods, NYC. The aroma as I opened the bottle is Pinot noir. Really overwhelms. The appearance is typical for the style, deep red, brown, very opaque. Not much of a head. Since the label states this is a blend with an eisbock, this is not a surprise. The flavor is wine, sour, spicy. The barrel aging really swamps the favors of this beer. The finish is sour, spicy. Medium in body, slightly thick, again true to this style. Enjoyable enough, but I eish they had maybe not done the barrel aging. I might get another bottle, and lay it down for a few months, to see if the effects of barrel aging are attenuated.

Rerate from Tap at the tap house. Berry and flower aroma. Dark red Amber, offwhite cream. Meaty sweet base, a lot of rest sweetness, quite cloying. Candy aftertaste - badly dissolved berry sirup with a malt sugar component. Original rating at BKL2016: 5 3 6 3 12 Fairly phenolic boozy nose, surprised to find this in a Schneider Cloudy orange brown, offwhite lace. Creamy mouthfeel, almond meal on the palate, apples, fermented pears, orange peel. Muddled, not ready yet?

Pours a dark brown color with a good sized foam head that dissipates quickly. Leaves a thin, bubbly head with no lacing. Lots of chunkies at the bottom. Alcohol comes through strong in the aroma. Fig, grape and cherry come through as well. Lightly roasted malts. Taste is very similar to the nose. Masterfully executed. Fig, cherry and prune are strong here, with presence of banana in the background. Licorice. Very pleasant dark fruit notes linger heavily on the tongue, pairing very nicely with the moderately high alcohol. Medium bodied. Doesn’t end up with as much bite from the alcohol as the aroma suggested. Very easy drinker for the flavor profile and ABV; quite unique in that sense. I easily downed this, and could go for another. Truly sensational beer. A must try.
