mjs	3.4 Blest IPA (Can, 0.473l - BB 10.08.2023, thanks Arde, at VastActiv, 20230105) The beer poured copper coloured and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass, pine and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, pine, toffee, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, malty and bitter. A tasty and clean hoppy brew. Aroma intenso, naranja, piel de naranja, cereal, leve plátano y frutas de hueso maduras. Sabor medio intenso, piel de naranja, fruta madura, cereal y flor de lúpulo, final largo, de amargor herbal alto y cierto dulzor maltoso, posgusto ligeramente astringente. Textura sedosa. Werckmeister	2.8 Blest Cream Stout 250ml from tap at the brewpub. Black color, small tan head. Smells earthy, roasty, grainy, spices. Ok smell. Full body, soft carbonation. Tastes of rye bread, burned malts, earthy, peppery, spices. Finishes rather roasty bitter with notes of rye bread, burned malts and some spicy notes. Aroma of pine, citrus, toffee and hops. Moderate sweetness and medium plus bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture and average carbonation. Nice piney bitterness to finish. Jokes	3 Blest Frambuesa Hazy red and gold with a pink, fizzy layer of foam. The aorma is an interesting blend of sweet raspberries, light caramel, light biscuit and interesting sour quality not unlike a mild blue cheese. The body is light and crisp on the tongue, and frankly quite pleasing to drink. The fruit and sweetness come out more in the flavor with a noticeable but mild sourness that becomes apparently only at the very end. A couple of final thoughts: first, this was good, but the sourness seemed fake in some way. I don’t mean it as an insult, but my impression was that it was someone contrived and not as authentic as with, say, a Cantillon. Secondly, despite the odd looks from the bartender at the Pilgrim Bar, I enjoyed this. Maybe not many men order this? They should, it’s pretty tasty. Tuesday, January 9, 2007
Jokes	3.3 Blest Bock Dark burgundy with a thin, tan head. The aroma is malty and sweet, full of brown sugar, caramel and a light fruitiness. The nose on this is really nice. Fairly full body with nice development on the tongue. The flavor is on the sweet side, but not inherently sweet on its own. Nice malts and a hint of bitterness at the finish. Jokes	2.6 Blest Pilsen Hazy golden body with a thin, diminishing white head. Some mild Saaz hop aroma with nice earthy bitterness and plenty of biscuity malt to provide sweetness. Light tropical fruit as well. Some bandaid type aromas that definitely seems off, but luckily it’s not too strong. The body is light and crisp on the tongue, relatively satisfying. The flavor is mostly sweet with the malt and fruitiness really coming out. The hops are evident, but not too strong and certainly don’t provide enough bitterness for the style. Jokes	2.6 Blest Red Seemingly a (fairly) new beer Blest. Slightly hazy amber with a thin, white head. Nitro-tap. Mostly sweet, slightly sour nose. Biscuits, caramel, popcorn, light hop oil, whole grains and some light bubblegum. The body is smooth and light bodied with all the trappings of the nitrotap. The flavor is on the sweeter side, but definitely not cloying by any means. The hops provide a modicum of bitterness, but nothing like I’m used to in the style.
