Cascade Lakes Hang Ten
32 oz growler from "b2 taphouse" in Salem OR $6 Pours a very light good/yellow colour for style. Has a nice sized creamy ,heavy white head. Very fruity peppery aromas..malts very much in the background. Taste peppery, fruity and an odd licorice backing. Ends sweet Good average mouth feel . A good summer type light IPA..no sight of the 7+ % alc.

Cascade Lakes Mosaic IPA
What an unfortunately sweet IPA. This has very few redeeming qualities. Itís gone very wrong here. Not much in the way of hop or bitterness, just chronically sweet caramel.

Cascade Lakes Hopsmack
Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with an off-white head and light lacing. Scent is heavy sweet tangerine grapefruit. Taste is full of orange disappointment. Not that great of an aftertaste with mild bitterness that is covered up by the overly sweet.

Cascade Lakes Cyclops IPA
Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange color with a thin off-white head and minimal lacing. Smells heavy citrus. Tastes strongly of lemon, quite sweet as well which covers up a lot of the bitterness. Reminds me of a hefe served with a big fat lemon, only sweeter. A bit of an odd brew.

Cascade Lakes Cyclops IPA
12 oz bottle poured. Once upon a time I was down in the Bend/Redmond area, and found this on draft, and it was my very first experience with Cascade Lakes. Main thing I take from that, is that the beer was solid enough for me to remember what beer it was. Picked this bottle up somewhere in Seattle recently. I was looking forward to this. The label looks to be slapped on by hand about 30 degrees off of being centered. The artwork looks like something I used to draw up in math class back in high school. Only I canít draw. Iím about as good at drawing as I am at rating beers. You can tell what Iím trying to do, but just barely. The beer pours a bright orange color with a rocky foam head. Soft hop, spice malt, and metallic aroma. Flavor is barely floral, bready malt that is a good balance with the hops. Not quite sold on the hop profile, but the balance is good, and it drinks easy. A little different than your typical IPA. Not bad.

Cascade Lakes Mosaic IPA
Bomber from Malt and Vine. Pours lightly coppery gold with a white head. Lots of fruit aroma - citrus/tropical. Med body at least. Flavor is very tropical fruit - backed by citrus/pine and some caramel. Quite mellow, not strongly bitter. But bitter and quite hoppy. I am surprised, pleasantly.

Cascade Lakes Mosaic IPA
Bottle from Larryís Liquor Locker, Point Roberts, WA
Hazy amber color with generous head. The aroma is a bit soapy, then some hops, but old. It has a bit of caramel and malt flavor, orangey hops, correct bitterness, definitively not the kind of feeling expected from Mosaic; and overall a feeling of old.
But it has no date on the bottle, so the responsibility is on the brewer.

Cascade Lakes Salted Caramel Porter
Bomber, thanks Craig! Sweet caramel malt aroma with notes of chocolate, roasted malt and some salt. Pours dark brown with a thin but retentive light brown head that also has good lacing. Starts with good caramel and chocolate malt sweetness with a slightly thinner body than I would have liked, but that's a mild complaint. Finishes smooth with good roasted malt flavors and just a pinch of salt. Excellent porter!

Cascade Lakes Salted Caramel Porter
22 wax dipped bottle from Lifesource natural grocers in Salem OR. $6.99 Dark brown almost mahogany coloured ale with a nice firm creamy tan head. Handsome. Wonderful aroma of fudge , cappuccino , salted vanilla ice cream and creamy milk chocolate. Taste the same but more of the chocolate malt side and ends up rather dry and a little salty and some ash. Nice palate maybe a little weak for the style in the very end. A very nice beer but i feel it could have been wonderful with a bit more body

Sasparilla to black colored, with a decent enough head. The aroma is sooty roastiness with a burnt charcoal character. The body too was quite roasty with some acrid and sooty touches. Medium-bodied. Ok, but lacking in complexity.

Cascade Lakes Salted Caramel Porter
Wax-dipped bomber. Aroma is very caramelly, light roast. Smells pretty much exactly like a salted caramel candy. Pours black with mahogany red tints when held up to the light. Taste is sweet and roasty with flavors of salted caramel, coffee, chocolate. Body seems a tad thin, mouthfeel a little watery. Despite these minor easy to look over palate flaws, this is really well-executed and tasty.

Cascade Lakes Snow Park XPA
12 ounce bottle from Whole Paycheck. Pours a clear orange color with a medium white head. A nice light toast and citrus nose. The flavor is toast, some marmalade, quite bitter, odd grainy bitter finish. Sort of unbalanced. I mean it is malty and hoppy, but it is oddly extreme in both cases with lots of bitter green hops and really dry grains. OK beer.

22 oz bottle obtained through Tavour. Cascade Lakes Mosaic IPA is a hazy honey amber brew with a full head of tiny off white bubbles. Nose is a solid front of pine hops. Taste is pine with a subtle bit of sweetness that becomes more evident the further you go through the sip. Body medium and lively. a very nice pure pine bomb.

12 oz bottle with one of the cooler labels youíll see. I went with the pint glass for this one. Poured out a clear honey color with a tight white head. Nice aroma that speaks of pine and citrus. Flavor is the same with a sweet malty finish. Enjoyable but nothing from the start to the finish really stands out with this one.

Golden amber, a bit hazy, capped with a sticky off-white head, tangerines and mango on the nose, moderately hop-forward and just nicely done. The finish is pleasant, no bite, just a sprucy, fruity, follow-up.

Cascade Lakes Mosaic IPA
22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy golden orange with a medium white foamy head with good lacing. Aroma brings out cardboard, some resin and earthy notes -- uh oh. Flavour is very earthy and muddy -- this is so massively old. Why are they selling such old IPAs? What a disgrace. Seems like itíd be a good beer when fresh, but at this age, this is completely undrinkable.

Cascade Lakes Hopsmack
12 oz bottle poured. Pours a copper orange color with an active fizz head. First thing I noticed about this beer: itís called Hopsmack, yet the bottle illustrates two fists. I personally always associated the word smack with more of an open hand venture. Notice I always catch on to the important details. Bold aroma and flavor of bitter grapefruit. Creamy finish. Dominant hops throughout, though itís not my favorite hop makeup out there. Enjoyable IPA.

Cascade Lakes Paddleboard Porter
Bottle from Homebrewstuff. Very dark brown pour, topped with a whispy beige head. Spotty lacing. At first sniff, and ultimately throughout the entire glass, the aroma is fantastic. Spot on for the style; roast, cocoa, and vanilla are incredibly rich and well balanced. Taste is roast and moderate bittersweetness. A little thin and unfortunately it gets a little bit chalky on the back endÖ it lingers in the finish.
