Definitely strong, but not too overpowering. This is an IPA I should not have trouble finishing.

12 oz. Aroma has notes of puke, tropical fruit, citrus peel. Pours hazy golden with a two finger cream-white head with excellent retention. Taste has a moderate pithy bitterness with candy sweetness alongside. Boozy for only 7.1%. Nothing wrong with the palate. This beer needs some work.

Can from Zac that made it home to FL. Pours a typical dark brown with a thin khaki head. Aroma is chocolate malt and sweet caramel but brings in coffee as it warms. The flavor is lightly bitter Porter with some dark chocolate and a hint of peanut butter. Honestly don’t get the salted caramel but it’s tasty no matter what.

12 oz. single can bought from Trader Joe in Salem OR. $1.60 Pours a slightly hazed orange body with a small odd white head. Aroma of floral and piney hops and strong caramel style malts. Taste similar to the aroma. An old style Oregon IPA. Mouth feel average for style. Gets a little sticky in the end unfortunately. OK old style Oregon beer.

Can. Pours a black with very little tan head. Aroma heavy on the caramel, a little butter. Flavor is a bit lackluster. Definitely some sweetness, but not as smooth as I wanted. A bit disappointing.

Cascade Lakes Pineapple IPA
Ever so slightly hazy peach and orange coloured body with a nice, two to three centimetre tall, just off-white head that stays afloat, but is pretty large-bubbled. Aroma of deep pineapple, tropical fruits and a lot of dank, fairly resinous hop notes with some malt and alcohol right behind. Medium-bodied; Rich pineapple and guava flavours dominate with a little bit of malts, but mainly a fruity, tropically vibe that hits, especially towards the end. Aftertaste shows the pineapple, dank hops and rich alcohol and sweetness, but less of the malts and pungency, especially at the end. Overall, this one is a nice and very pineappley, tropically beer with less of a traditional hoppiness from the hops, but more of a new school, but very island-ish themed beer that is easy-drinking, yet full-of-flavour. Great to sample, especially super fresh and without keeping it at all. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 28-March-2021 for US$2,79 sampled in my hotel room here in San Francisco, California, just before leaving from Spring Break 2021 with my wife and kids on 03-April-2021.

This beer is a hazy reddish-orange color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Aroma of piney hops, tropical fruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, tropical fruit, melon and biscuit malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a fruity hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Can from KBL. Caramel nose, coffee, chocolate, light roast. Black, with a low, airy head. Salted caramel comes through big, with roasted coffee and dark chocolate. A bit too sweet, but not crazy. Body is a bit light. Slightly roasty finish. Not bad at all, even if not really what I want.

I don’t think I’ve had anything from this brewery before. Cascade Lakes OG KUSH Hoppy Pale Ale 5.3% IBU 48 Copper gold with minimal foam and a woodsy piney aroma rather than over the top dankness I expected from the name. Simple piney woodsy bitterness and balancing sweet slightly caramel malt sweetness. Maybe a bit of heat damage but generally an alright old skool west coast hoppy beer.

Cascade Lakes Pure Dead Brilliant Maple Scotch Ale
Rated 1-11-2020. Had at the brewery. Very nice beer except I'm not really into the maple flavored Ales. I like maple flavor as I have some maple syrup that was aged in bourbon barrels, which is delicious. A little less maple flavor and this would be excellent.
